  1. Past hour
  2. Rovers are now officially the lowest scorers in the championship. Great summer business
  3. Nobody can be similar to Kean. All this started with him. He's the gold standard of horror appointments. I shudder just to mention his name.
  4. One could argue that fans attending such a meeting instead of a crucial local derby may be newsworthy in itself.
  5. Admin talk is irrelevant here, venkys will never allow that to happen as it puts them out of control. We'll just limp on like this for the rest of time at a lower and lower level every few years.
  6. How many more references to our foundation year being 1874 do we need, again, they surely cant all be wrong! The Mystery continues......
  7. Rovers play at Preston on 21st November. You will need another date.
  8. As long as we're around there will always be a Rovers den.
  9. So like I was saying, I'd swap with Sheffield Wednesday any day of the week. There is nothing worse for a football club than to have it be owned (supposedly) by venkys.
  10. As expected, Sheff Utd improving under Wilder and are now 0-2 up away at PNE. 5 points clear of Rovers. Club needs to wake up fast to the notion of being in a relegation battle.
  11. Today
  12. To add if not mentioned previously, we've already met with independent regulator too and other MPs going to come together too, with the message. They back the fans and the town
  13. Sheff Wednesdays best publicity was probably from the away match at Leicester, where the fans refused to take seats until 5th minute and the entire stadium applauded the effort. It made all the national papers. We have great away support, we should pick a game, maybe a Tv game and target with the same message.
  14. Great meeting with MP, Supporters will be heading back to Parliament with him to bring us back to the fore nationally. Open supporters meeting 14th November , venue to be confirmed. A whole host of other things discussed which will be raised in town council meeting on 14th November. Some great traction initiatives too. @Miller11 will give greater insight (packing for my holidays). Organised protest will return against Derby county with multiple protests/angles before , during and after. The fight starts now!!
  15. First time since the 1979 season, we'll have failed to win in our first 6 home games, should we do as expected and get beat tomorrow. Ironically, we got promoted in that season.
  16. I got slated on here for saying he's similar to Kean. Am I wrong yet?
  17. That's even more confusing! The formation of any Club will be its initial foundation not its first recorded match.I've seen several other publications claim 1874.
  18. It’s the outlandish-ness of the lies (just like Ke*n). You can still be a lackey without coming out with clearly incredulous stuff - I.e you deflect like; ‘yes, we have brought in new lads, they are learning, but I see their quality every day’ ‘I am convinced we will turn the corner’ blah blah blah. Don’t just flat bat it saying everything is great, absurd and just invites ridicule… not that there’s ever any feelings of shame or embarrassment within this regime.
  19. We will give them the whole Darwen end, There will be more of them than us.
  20. He really is entering the realms of Kean saying we didn't lose any quality. Dumbest thing iv'e heard in a long time from a Rovers boss and the competition is mighty stiff.
  21. Suit yourself - you dont need to do it - I was rather thinking of a number of small groups scattered all over the ground for this particular purpose. I would hope that any protests are from now on are concerted and continuing not a huge one off effort, then nothing.
  22. He knows he the last line of defence and is hanging on as long as he can.
  23. See my point above Rev. History evolves. Thanks, I've read this book and its a very good work. As for the year - that's a whole other debate. In the late 19 and early 20th Centuries it fluctuated between 1874 and 1875. The debate finally ended - from the club's point of view - in 1924 when they stated 1875 was the date they recognized. In October 1924, the Blackburn Times began a weekly series of articles on the history of the club to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Those articles had 1874 as the date of founding. After three weeks they included a footnote that the club would recognize 1875 as the date. Charles Francis, who was involved with the articles in the Blackburn Times that quoted 1874 as the date, was then asked the write the book to celebrate the 50th Anniversary and he in that book he went along with the club and stated the founding date was 1875. It may be that informal talks took place in 1874 but the actual formation was in 1875. Certainly, the minutes that I've referred to in earlier posts quote 1875. The Blackburn Standard reported on the game between Rovers and Cob Wall in January 1876 and that quoted the 1875-76 season as being the first season for the club.
  24. A small group of anything is ineffective. It would just look like a stag do anything that happens now needs to be shit or bust, all or nothing en mass
