Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coach
superniko replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There's a really weird fanbase on socials - I think all clubs have it, but it has me pulling my hair out. I saw comments like... "Worst manager we had in the 15 years of Venkys" - erm...Hello Steve Kean and Owen Coyle "Made Eustace look good" - Subtle dig at Eustace too, as obviously it's never the common denominator (ownership/board) that are to blame At the end of the day, by all metrics, he got us closest to promotion and closest to a Cup trip to Wembley than any other manager since we were relegated, and that was all in the 1st season before the powers that be wanted to put a stop to it -

Bobby Moore said Byrom was the second best British player he ever played against and he played against some top class centre forwards. -
Not sure on the best fans in the world stuff, but his criticism isn't of England fans in general or how well they travel. It's specific to the atmosphere at England's home stadium. It isn't great there; there are lots of reasons for that, but I understand his observations.

Yeah as mentioned earlier in the thread, the time here for JDT has been and gone. Does make me laugh all the snide remarks you see about him from Rovers fans on social media etc, like he was a huge problem for the club. There's times where I think the owners hit the jackpot with parts of our fanbase unfortunately. -

Not without a budget of at least 10 million i wouldn't. Personality wise though he was a breath of fresh air. - Today

You're forgetting the fabulous suggestion of naming a training pitch at Brockhall after him instead. -
Just a scholarship contract, which expires at the end of this season Nobody from the "class of 24" has signed a pro deal yet, but that wil of course save Rudy & Suhail a few pennies in the here and now, and will have no possible adverse effects at all 😉

FCUM have refused to get involved in the NPL's decision to change kick off times to suit live broadcasting. Their reasoning for me is absolutely correct. -

I was staying in Camden for a long weekend a few weeks ago and I got talking to this bloke in a pub. When we'd talked about football and which teams we support he mentioned that his mate from Eton is currently very excited because hes a goalkeeper for Old Etonians and he never thought he be able to play on a pitch like Ewood Park and against players like Pedersen so I'm happy that these lads will get this experience too. It's a long way to come from after all. -
I hope he's happy profiting off slave labor, murdered journalists, jailed and tortured dissidents, and women being rightsless wards of their husbands.

Please stop.

I haven't seen anything either. Gestede was watching yesterday so hopefully there will be something done soon.
-
Anyone know if Joseph is on a scholarship still or has he signed a pro contract.. Don't remember reading anything about him.
-
Right now I would say roughly 6' 3". The good thing is that his football development seems to be matching his physical development.

We should refer to it as a half back and go full retro. Apart from Number 1 and number 9, until Carragher, Neville and all the other double pivot bros started using it. I had never in my life, playing or watching heard fans or fellow players use numbers to describe positions. Adams, Baresi and Moore want their number back ! What position does number 14 play?! Anyway England do what we always doz cruise through qualifying against teams that would struggle.innthe championship. We've as much a chance as anyone at the world cup. Southgate nearly did it and he was a nice bloke but tactically limited. If Tuchel can avoid falling out with people beforehand there's every chance.

Not sure what Tuchel said about the Wembley atmosphere is worth crying about. It's a graft to get to Wembley midweek and hard to get back via public transport, so that doesn't make for a rousing atmosphere. For me, it would be so much better playing at club grounds around the country and saving Wembley for the important matches.

The date for the venky era is wrong. We were infected with them in 2010 and symptoms starting showing almost immediately. It is very important to emphasize how everything was going great right until we contracted the venky virus. November 2010 is when Blackburn Rovers ceased to exist and venky FC was born.

I once scored a hat trick for Langho against Blue Star, think more people were watching to be honest.
