  1. Past hour
  2. Not a valid comparison at all really. Those Clubs can afford to replace said players. And even if other Clubs make the occasional mistake, that doesn't excuse us making the same mistake once, let alone time after time after time.
  3. In this instance it made sense. He was doing well in League 2 but you obviously arent going to get anything other than a nominal fee for a player doing quite well in League 2. A step up to League 1 made sense but unfortunately he wasnt quite good enough. Makes sense to let him go and try and forge a career.
  4. Right well I don't believe that's a persistent problem for him, and half the post I was replying to was essentially claiming he doesn't win headers.
  5. Whatever great ideas the fans collectively come up with, the one thing that needs to happen, is for it to be blatantly obvious the clubs senior hierarchy had zero involvement. They're likely to try and claim some kind of involvement in anything positive.
  6. I have Ken Beamish's no 7 shirt from the final home game v Wrexham which I can make available if needed.
  7. Yeah but those clubs don't start moaning about not having any money and say they can't spend in the transfer market We leave it to late to start negotiating new contracts no doubt about it,if Dolan had been offered more money with 2 years left on his deal then he would have signed. Travis, Brittain ,Hyam and Tronstad should have been made contract offers last summer and if we couldn't get deals done then look to sell them with 2 years left and use the money on replacements like normal run clubs do
  8. Liverpool might make a mistake or 2 along the way but they are still the Champions! Margins are so tight for Rovers we can't make mistakes , let alone glaringly obvious ones--like not tying down our best players, of which we only have a few. It's not that hard. But we keep doing it over and over and over again. I'd list them but its too painful
  9. Plymouth's manager is off to Schalke. Initially was a bit shocked, but then saw Schalke are not what they used to be - to say the least. Finished 14th in the German second division this season. The Argyle board's statement is... somewhat emotional. Reminds me a little bit of ours when Eustace left.
  10. Today
  11. I'm of the view that first game of the season is boycotted and everyone attends the women's first fixture.
  12. The model that this club has to run on now you simply cannot keep letting it happen then shrugging the shoulders. You also cannot keep telling fans one thing about the 'project' grow/buy low increase value then sell, whilst doing the complete opposite in several cases every year.
  13. I have stated on here, before that we need to make a fans version of the 150th celebrations, as the clubs ideas so far have been pathetic. In some ways, they have already scored a huge own goal,, as those of us, who remember the centenary season, will be aware that the season 19/74/75 was celebrated that and won promotion from the old third division. There was a rallying cry, before that season started, from within the club, that we would go all out for promotion, which was achieved and one of the best seasons, I remember supporting the club. Once the fixtures are announced, perhaps we can choose the home game closest to the date of the club being formed and maybe get some activities set up around that, such as inviting former players and maybe even getting a celebratory shirt, available from this and other sites, like the retro one that was marketed on here. In the meantime, keep up, the brilliant work it would be an even bigger cause to celebrate the centenary, if we flush this lot out, once and for all.
  14. Tim Hardin - The Lady Came From Baltimore
  15. Of course it's not good but can happen anywhere. Mbappe went for free - a player who could possibly have gone for a world record fee - while Liverpool had 3 of their key players in the same position, and look likely to lose 1 of them. So yes, we've lost important players for free, but it's happened to literally some of the biggest clubs.
  16. Nothing major, A lot of effort going into global press, They want some back up to claims, having reached out to club for comment who are denying a number of things we know to be true. (Though that being said the person replying is that far down food chain, it's comical) Expecting some articles to go to press imminently. Complete silence from club as they continue to avoid engaging, with it appearing they want to fob groups off in Lindsay Talbots direction and mask communication tick box through FF. If the FF boycott then they will be in breach of EFL Rules though we are looking into those engagement breaches already as we don't believe they are compliant with the charter. The final group not in the Coalition has been reached out to, to make it a full suite. Noticed the Yasir interview yesterday claiming the 150 celebrations were inclusive and open to all, despite no one being invited bar a member of the 100 club and WATR (2 reps) . Making it a total of 3 reps on the panel. With Waggott now gone, the feeling from our club sources is funding and ideas will be cut significantly, despite things having been previously agreed in principle with the exiting CEO
  17. Yeah I went to one and he said the same.
  18. All to get a small increase in wage contribution. No strategy at our club, just short term focus. If they had any strategic focus they'd have kept him at Chesterfield and increased his resale value. Instead failed and looked short term and ended up getting nothing for him
  19. The Temptations - Treat Her Like A Lady
  20. I think Travis especially they will be keen to get out of the door, and then make something up that he doesn't fit in our "new system" or something.
  21. They'll try and sell Tronstad and Travis this summer I don't doubt it.
  22. Stats like these are absolutely irrelevant. As it's got no context, or show opponents. If you showed pairings e.g. Travis and Tronstad together on the pitch with Aynsley Pears it'd tell a story.
  23. Criminal that we have allowed ourselves again to get to the stage where our two most influential players are out of contract in 12 months time with not even a hint of talks, but not surprising at all.
  24. Some squad stats sorted by how well we did with them on the pitch vs how well we did without them. No surprise who's at the top.
  25. I went to a Sportsman’s Evening a while back where Dean Saunders was the guest speaker. Somebody asked him who the best player he’d ever played with was. He said “ Paul McGrath, he was incredible given he never trained “.
  26. I refereed McGrath towards the end of his career when he went to Sheffield United. During a break in play I had a chat and I could smell the alcohol on his breath. Despite that he was the best player on the pitch and his natural athleticism was apparent.
