150th Anniversary kit/celebrations

Just had a quick look online and initial evidence there is to the contrary. AI says the Club has never received money from the National Lottery. Do you have a source? -
I'd be surprised if it actually happens. Maybe I'll be shown to be wrong but suspect this is as much a publicity stunt as anything. It gets their owners all over the news and loads of positive PR, wins people over. The cringeworthy media videos with Brady, Bellingham and Peaky Blinders. Yuck. But actually getting it done - shovels in the ground and chimneys built - takes a lot more than big talk and famous faces doing videos. Again might be wrong but I'd be amazed if they or anyone else were coughing up £3 billion or whatever it will be to build this in a derelict corner of Birmingham whilst they are a Championship club struggling to fill a 30k stadium. If/when they get to the PL maybe a different matter.

Probably for the same reason that Liverpool FC were given money by the Lottery Fund. -
Todd Cantwell - is he off?
RevidgeBlue replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I can't see that happening. I'd say either it's a case we're all (apart from Islander) over-reacting and it's merely a niggling injury that has taken longer than expected to clear up, or, if negotiations have taken place behind the scenes, we won't see him again. -
Rovers's January transfer needs

If we're playing 3-5-2 then we need at least one centre back and another striker. Get rid of Kargbo since he doesn't have a role in that layout, and probably one of Pickering/Ribeiro. Obviously every position needs an upgrade but that's where we are short. -

Absolutely. Most incisive post on here for a long time! 1971 with an Owen Coyle minus the Burnley connection. What could go wrong? -

I think this has got a Rovers win written all over it tonight. We've been decent on the road and have got results at Leicester and Bristol City when most expected us to get battered. We were comfortable at Coventry for 60 odd minutes and were only undone by two long range goals. We have shown we can be organised and tough to break down away from home. I don't see why we can't be again tonight. This lot are getting carried away and are being lulled by our League position and after hearing about a couple of injuries. You'd think Dobbin is Benzema listening to them. They have better players than us all over the park, apparently. We'll see about that. Fancy us to do a job on them. Blackpool's rivals 1-2 Rovers. -

My experiences going back to the early 90's to now are entirely different. They do though seemed to have ramped it up a level in recent years especially their younger element. We've had yo yo Burnley though quite regularly but they haven't really had Blackpool so much. So it's a natural substitute and although a lot of BBwD based fans look at Bolton probably as the next real rival these lot look at us. It's a bit like the Wigan / Bolton thing really were over the last few years its become a big deal whereas before only two small groups of hools were bothered about each other. Also with Knobbers after being in our shadow so long they now often get the upper hand so the Rovers chips on their shoulders that's been weighing them down for decades get thrown off now and again. Another Venky induced gift that nobody ever asked for but iv'e been saying for 15 years they won't return us to where they found us they'll return us to what we were pre Mr Walker. -
I’ve just realised that non of the usual main stream channels are even showing the highlights this evening. Then they wonder why most kids no longer have an interest in playing cricket.

The pitch in Perth is very bowler friendly, I remember being shocked at the India score last year. It was like every bowl had soemthing on it and a wicket was about to fall. I can't see England doing anything different in 2nd Innings, a quick dash to 200 should see us home here.

Is there any point in scheduling 5-day Tests any more? This could be over in 2 days Not Test cricket as we know and like to remember it but if England do somehow manage to win we'll take it

I did think it might actually attract a good number of Rovers fans, so they can grab a squeaky chicken in protest of our clown ownership but either way, The Spud Bro's win. -
Crawley out to one that he could have easily left alone. They need to realise that you don’t have to score off every ball. We needed to hang around for longer and see Starc off. At least our bowlers have got us right back into the game. Nice to see us fight fire with fire for once, that one from Wood that hit the grill was real shaker. No helmet and that would have been a broken jaw. They don’t like it up ‘em either.

Just a shame we couldn't get them all out at the end, there. But, credit where it's due- we've bowled very well and made a hell of a recovery.
