  2. The only way they get their money back is via promotion to the PL. That's the only time at which their shares in the club are actually going to be worth anything. They've had 3 good opportunities to try and get there under 3 different managers in the last 4 years and on each occasion have barely lifted a finger to try and get over the line and secure promotion, infact there's a good argument to suggest they've actually sabotaged the manager's efforts by selling key players making it even more difficult to sustain results, then making the conditions so intolerable that two of the managers walked out of their jobs soon after the window closed with no proper effort made to keep them Either way, they've proven that they don't want promotion and that even when presented with a surprise opportunity to try and get it they won't make any effort to do it, so I think we can safely park that notion on the shelf with other fantasy theories. Promotion has never, was never and will never be a factor in their thinking. I still think we need to get ourselves back to what Venkys were brought into this club to do. They were never here to take an interest or run the club as any other owner would do. Their sole purpose since day one has been to sit as legal owners, top up the running cost shortfall, reap the 'benefits' whilst leaving it to others to run as minimal hassle to them. Why? Well that's what the orchestrators and designers of the model had in mind - a vehicle by which there is legitimate ownership in the background and on the title deeds but in the void a space for third parties to run it and profit from it. So we are now back to the original plan - let trusted henchmen do the dirty work (Shadow man and his mate), the owners aren't interested and never have been in the running of the club. They're prepared to tip in the necessary for running costs but at the moment want that to be at the bare minimum.
  3. Sandiomerski Givet - Van Hecke - Tosin - Douglas Jermaine Jones - Tom Cairney Elliott - Reed - Bentley Armstrong Feel that's a semi decent team, Now for a stinker Walton Mola - Doneil Henry - Koumetio - Hendrie Spearing - Dabo - Tunnicliffe Feeney - Varney - Taylor Rekeem Harper,Leighton Clarkson, Mitchel Candlin, Zeefuik, Hirst - honorable mentions
  4. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising
  5. Gueye and Kargbo as well, spend 90% of the time they're on the pitch in an offside position
  6. Ta both, thought I recognised it from somewhere.
  7. If we had anyone better it would be an easy desicion, but Gueye can barely kick a ball and Ohashi scores about 1 in 10 at the moment.
  8. Dyche confirmed as Forest manager; BBC: Forest appoint Dyche Whether it will work or not will be seen in results, but Forest now has a manager who's style is similar to Nuno's, and should be able to get a tune out of the players at his disposal. Expect a return to resolute defending and long balls up to Chris Wood.
  9. From my recollection Gudjohnssen has missed 3 sitters in 3 games. Tonight will either be his redemption or a confirmation that he's useless. My money is on the latter.
  10. Today
  11. My view is they wont sell in fear of what due diligence might uncover / reveal. Do you think the operation of Rovers has been / is squeaky clean? Let's not forget the investigation by the Indian authorities into the alleged breach of foreign exchange management rules by VHPL - there is some history there. So what is their option? A managed decline is a strategic reduction which normally leads to the closure of a business. Is this what we are seeing with Rovers? If Rovers are finished in 5 to 10 years time, I think Venky's acquisition of Rovers 20 to 25 years ago will be seen as a mere footnote in the history books with hardly a ripple on the pond and who will care? A number of times we have been knocking on the play-off door and our owners haven't seized the initiative. IMO, the operational management of Rovers doesn't convey a burning desire or ambition to get back to the PL. We might well be in a relegation scrap this season and a scrap I don't think we will win. You tell me where you think the club is heading.
  12. Morishita hasn't been much of a spark so far, time he turned up with his boots, and started playing football.
  13. The two lowest scorers in the league. We have managed 7 but 3 were in one game. Got 0-0 all over it.
  14. Just cant see where any goals are coming from. I don't think the team as a whole are that far off, we pushed Coventry closer than a lot of teams have. We just cant score, which then causes us to get nervous at the back. There's a lot of pressure on the midfield and defence knowing 1 goal conceded is likely to loose us the game. We may as well persist with Gudjohnssen if he was a marquee striker signing. The other options are equally as shite. Toth Miller Mclouglin Wharton Albiousi Hedges Tronstadt TGH Moreshita Gudjohnssen Ohashi
  15. I still don't understand. You refer to obvious reasons why they won't sell and then mention a managed decline, but why? The only thing I can come up with is that they're hell bent on getting their investment back but also not willing to spend money for a promotion push, which leaves them in a catch 22. That doesn't track with a managed decline though. But I'm not an accountant, so if I'm missing something I'm happy to be corrected here?
  16. Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Stagger Lee
  17. My main memory of Nonda was watching him break through the Leverkusen defence at home, only to put his chance wide in the 85th min (or there abouts) to send us out of Europe.
  18. Jerry Lee Lewis - Whole Lot Of Shakin’ Going On
  19. Yeh, I'd go with Neophox's team above tbh. Don't think Mori has been all that impressive on the wing tbh
  20. Is morashita injured? I may have missed it if so
  21. It's a bit more than 'opening the books'! Due diligence when considering the acquisition of a company is a thorough investigation by the would be buyer into a company's financial, legal, and operational health before an acquisition. It should leave no stone unturned from both legal and financial perspectives. A big focus is obviously on risk identification and risk mitigation. Due diligence would be undertaken by both accountants and lawyers and for a company the size of Rovers, you would be looking at several weeks' work (even up to 2 months depending upon efficiency of selling/buying teams and findings). It is a timely and costly process.
  22. Post 2010, the stand outs have been Tosin, Van Hecke and Elliot. Branthwaite has come through recently but probably too early to be decent for us. I’ve got a memory of Gresko coming on loan and being great, but dropping off after he signed full-time 🤷🏻‍♂️
  23. And when we're favourites for relegation how often do we hear - 'And the bookies very rarely get it wrong.' I'm not arguing against people's valid points. A devastating loss could well be on the cards. It's more the certainty that they'll dominate us easily, and go on to win 1 or 2 nil. I think we'll be in this game, we'll compete, and some point(s) should be within our grasp. What happens from there, as ever with Rovers, is anyone's guess. Come 9.30pm, if I'm wrong and we've been trounced to a 2-0 nil loss having barely laid a glove on them, I'll take the pelters as a deluded plonker.
