Its just gutting that whilst this clause did exist without us knowing, we were all boasting about how we could get 15million plus for him. Even Sky Sports suggest that we'd be able to get at least double the price of the fee if it werent for the clause.

Also did he not do that interview with the LET off his own back? To set the record straight I think the words were? That is why we feel weve been lied too-not that he wants to go to L'pool. He could have simply not gave an interview and we would've been like "All the best, whata great player we had for a season." God that boy does like to shoot himself in the foot.

Dear university exam marker:

Please note that whilst in this exam room I have been under the severe duress and stress that my English Premier League side are in the process of selling there most influencial player, causing the team to significantly weaken.

Any obscene, rude or offensive language contained in this exam is not, i repeat is not a personal attack on you, rather Rafa Benitez, and the Liverpool Football Club.

That brings back memories... bad ones. In '96, Shearer :(:(:(

Damn. This came out of the blue. I guess its just a case of getting on with it from here. Hopefully the money will be re-invested wisely, but finding a guaranteed Premiership goalscorer is not going to be easy (or affordable).

Lieing little pack of SH!TE. Last yr i travelled all around the country watching the Rovers, went to every home game and about 2/3rds of away games. Travelled 1000's of miles in the process. I wouldnt have minded if Bellamy had decieded to move to a bigger club. I wouldnt have minded him saying that he was using us a stepping stone. I wouldnt have even minded him admitting that a clause exists.

HOWEVER, i will not tolerate be downright lied to. The little to$$er said in the LET that that clause did not exist, but it turns out he was purging himself once again.

(ignore these words if he stays...)

He's as good as gone. It would have been great to say that he is a man of his word when he said, "I'm not at Rovers for only one year" but it looks like we won't be able to.

So much for the "i don't have no clause, the manager doesn't work like that" BS

Thanks Craig for some great performance and bringing the good times back to Ewood if only for one year.

Surely we all need a reality check here. Despite my user name I have been a Rovers fan all my life and loathe the idea of 'bigger' clubs taking our best players.

But

We had a cracking season, the pinnacle of which for me was the defeat of United home and away, but the fact is we were punching a little over our weight. Gordon's quite correct in is assumption that premiership players are mainly overpaid gunslingers, the loyalty to the club stretches no further than the public profile massaged by the agent.

Yes he scored some fantastic goals, but he's injury prone. Add to that the club that I love breaking it's financial neck to squeeze out £65K a week to try and keep him at Ewood and quite frankly, I'd rather he went.

Cheers Craig, thank you for your sojourn at Blackburn Rovers. I hope you do well for the reds, and when you reach up on tip toe to touch 'This is Anfield' your bloody hamstring goes.

Bellamy has done nothing wrong....

he couldn't avoid the question about the clause in the LET interview because he was asked directly about it...i've he'd said 'i dont want to talk about it.....' then it would've been totally obvious that there was one!!

Also its not as if he went through the media saying he wanted to leave or anything....

£12m to spend on two strikers...i would be confident that Sparky could get the right players....personally i'd be happy with Mido, Roberts & Pongolle...with some change left over!

Edited to say i agree with Adopted Scouser...its not worth risking the clubs financial security for one player :rover:

I think the icing is on the cake to be honest. The only thing we can hope for is a Bowyer like collapse. Maybe Rafa won't like him.

Bellers spoke to Hughes' yesterday and still chose to go and speak to Liverpool. Makes me think he will go to be honest.

In a way you can't blame him. He's a boyhood liverpool fan after all. I'm sure we would all want to play for the club we support if given the choice.

Yes of course we would, and for THAT I don't blame him. The thing that I can't stand about all this is the man's deliberate lying and calculated dishonesty in all of his dealings with the club and the fans. To go to the lengths he did to try and convince us that he was happier now than he had ever been, playing under Mark Hughes and enjoying his football at Ewood, and he was not here just for the one season etc, etc, ad nauseam. The whole thing just stinks to high heaven, and for me it has totally destroyed my entire faith in anything a footballer ever says or does.

The reality is he will sign for Liverpool. I don't think any footballer looking at it from a footballing point of view would turn down a move to Anfield.

People must rememeber it wasn't just Bellamy that got us into Europe. Granted he had a massive influence towards the end.

The astute planning associated with Mark Hughes is about to be tested thoroughly. He needs a good contingency plan if he is to keep us lot happy.

If he does sign it's not the end of the world, we are as attractive this summer to players as we have been in a long while.

Anyone else agree that should any deal go through that Pongolle should be coming the other way. I think that all though he's no Bellamy he's still young and again provides plenty of pace. Not a like for like replacement but a similar player in many ways.

If Bellamy goes we need to bring in two very good strikers. If we get 6m for Bellamy and say we have 6m available anyway I can't see us getting two top strikers for 12m. If we get 6m plus Pongolle for Bellamy that then potentially gives up to 12m for a new forward (before anyone starts - its just a guess that we have 6m to spend).

I would think that is the very least that Liverpool should do if they have any decency or honesty about them and I do believe they have. I have always had a lot of respect for Liverpool FC and now I expect them to do the decent thing and throw in Pongolle as part of the deal. That is always providing that MH is in agreement of course.

whats he meant to say, "yes i have a clause, come and get me!"""

No, just be honest and not make up bare faced lies, and also not treat all the fans that pay his salary as complete idiots. Rather than go to the lengths he went to it would have been better if he had just been non-comittal and referred any questions to the club.
