If Villa really want Brad then they can afford to stump up the extra bit to make it happen. If they don't then we get to keep him and I don't think he's the type to kick up a real fuss. It's probably a few hundred thousand which actually makes very little difference to them but could make a lot to us.

VillaSimon
Did'nt Villa offer an extra premium if the deal was done by last night?
nicko
On Carlos Villanueva and Segundo Castillo work permits situation... You need a contract and an agreement with the club and the player before you can apply for a permit. So no-one can break into that while the permit application is going through. nicko
So Nicko has Carlos signed? If we are applying for a work permit, he must have? There is an agreement with the club and the player, but he is not a registered player until he gets a work permit...which is why they always call it 'signed subject to work permit.' No need to fear anything at this stage. The same goes for Castillo, providing there is an agreement with the club and the player. Maybe not at that stage yet, but not far away... robbojohnno
At this stage, which of the transfers (Castillo and Villanueva) would you say is nearest to being completed, work permit permitting?
rebelmswar
According to Wikipedia Carlos Villanueva is a rovers player. According to Wikipedia Mars is colonized by cytologists. But there may be some truth to that one. I am sure Nicko will tell us at the appropriate hour, I have a very good feeling about this signing. philipl
Interesting mood music coming out of WHL- if Bentley is priced at £17m, they would be better off paying £18m and getting Arshavin. Obviously Levy hasn't worked out you only play those mind games when you have a willing seller. JW's reaction is probably; "I have got Dick Advocaat's mobile number somewhere if you want it Daniel"

Blue n White Rover
Nicko is there no chance Bentley will change his mind. I know you can't read his mind but has there been any signals from him or his agents that he may want to re-assess the situation and look at the players Paul Ince brings in and then make a firm choice? 1&OnlyRover
spurs are probably waiting for chimbondas transfer to go through in the next couple of days and theylly get £4m for him so if they add that to what they made earlier of £8.5 + Paul Robinson (valued at £3.5) + £4 or so million on add ons theyll end up with £12.5million from the sale of chimbonda + £3.5 robinson which will toatal £16m which is roughly pretty close to what rovers want. Hughesy
Bentley will be at Tottenham next season, im certain of that. All 4 of the tottenham lads have been at sunderland today, im sure at least 2 will sign - therefore giving them the cash for bentley.

ebenrocks
Bents leaving aint the end of the world. Ok, hes a very good player, but you always got the impression he felt he was too good for the Rovers. So fine, let him go and try and prove himself at another team if he wants. Bentley unfortunatly has the biggest head on earth and he's going to get a shock when he goes to spurs and he aint number bloody one all the time. The number of players linked with leaving them he could well be their number 1, 2, 3 etc next season. there are fans already speculating on how long Modric and Dos Santos will hang about.
