From the LT.

Personal terms now agreed - expected to complete in the next 48 hours!

Tugay on the move "Grella is a very solid player. He has shown that in Italy and Britain and he will help us alot.

NICE ONE TUGAY!!!

Also on Guti - Besiktas have been considering a move, with ex Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster the manager, however he has been quotes saying he doesnt think it is possible because 'he is blackburn bound'.

I think Serbia and Germany will beat Austrailia and send the aussies out so that Gala can buy Grella.

Watch it, there's quite a few of us Aussies on here. We did make the second round last time you know, only got knocked out by Italy in extra time, thanks to a penalty (given away by none other than Lucas Neill...).

Serbia lost to New Zealand the other day, they are better on paper but lots of internal problems. Ghana has lost Essien too. We are a chance.

Be good to see Vince go. I always preferred Brecsia, more cultured and pops up and scores the odd screamer like Toogs.

Balwer, that "penalty" was a great "dive", Gattuso (?) was never going to retrieve that ball.

Neill's only error was to slide in early. Had he stayed on his feet, the play was going nowhere

Fabio Grosso I think.

Link on the twitter log says the Gala deal has fallen through because they are not prepared to give him a long contract with his injury record....

I heard he'd missed training for Australia the other day because he had 'a cold'. In South Africa?!! He's such a lightweight he's an embarrassment. The biggest ponce we've had on the books at Rovers since Barry Ferguson. Please God let's get rid at any price and get a grown-up in to replace him.

From "The Australian"

INJURY-hit Brett Emerton is fighting to be fit for Australia's World Cup opener against Germany and battling for his club future after being put up for sale by Blackburn Rovers.

The English Premiership outfit have already offered the winger to Turkish club Galatasaray, and the pressure on the 31-year-old to shake off the calf injury that has kept him out of the Socceroos World Cup warm-up games has been ratcheted up with his club future at the crossroads.

The willingness of Rovers coach Sam Allardyce to part with Emerton, who has scored 17 goals in a 72 appearances for Australia, comes in the wake of a difficult 16 months for the Sydneysider. After fighting back from a serious cruciate ligament injury last September, Emerton has become surplus to requirements at Rovers, with seven of his 29 appearances last season coming off the bench following his return from surgery.

The Lancashire club believes he is now past his best with a move to Galatasaray, playing alongside fellow Soccerooos Harry Kewell and Lucas Neill, looking more than likely.

When fully fit, Emerton is a certain starter for Australia and could have a big impact in South Africa but Richard Garcia remains on standby to take his spot should he fail to prove his fitness at training this week. Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek could even switch Jason Culina to the right side of midfield and fill his slot with Carl Valeri as a second option.

With just five days to go before Australia take on Germany in Durban, Emerton, who still has two years to run on his Ewood Park deal, didn't even appear among the substitutes in the 3-1 loss to the USA and his renowned powers of recovery will be tested to the limit if he is to make the cut in Durban.

But he did put in his first full training shift for the Socceroos yesterday since joining the squad nearly three weeks ago as they went through a 60-minute session at Roodepoort Athletics Stadium outside Johhannesburg.

And the word is that Verbeek will gamble on the durable Emerton against Germany, so long as he comes through unscathed this week.

Emerton, who joined Rovers in July 2003 for $500,000 from Feyenoord, has made 259 appearances for the club scoring 15 goals.

Blackburn have reportedly told Emerton he is free to go, with David Dunn having taken over the right wing and the club looking to cut its wage bill.

Emerton signed an upgraded four-year deal in July 2008 but it is clear Rovers don't see him as part of their long term plans, meaning the Socceroo will be on the lookout for a new club once his World Cup duties are over.

Meanwhile, midfield enforcer Vince Grella was given a 24-hour leave pass after contracting a heavy cold but is not in doubt for the Germany duel.

Tim Cahill, was only allowed a few light stretches and a gentle stroll aroiund the outside of the field alongside physio Phil Coles as Verbeek made sure there was no untoward reaction from the neck injury that forced him off against the USA.

I think that is the 5th time I have read that Australian article and I see more errors every time I cast my eyes over it!

Grella played a few good games for us after some really shoddy ones but all in all a very anonymous £4m worth. It seems the move is not dependent on the World Cup exit but lets hope he gets through this weekend's game ok!

Can't blame them, can ya?

Just been on Skype and Ed Neill, Lucas dad, says Grella definately signing at Galatasaray!!

The Aussies also believe if they get a point against Germany they will qualify, Ghana and Serbia being the other teams in the group!

I cant, he's on his way to South Africa with a suitcase of cotton wool!!

Well, we dont want Vince to get injured do we?

Wrap him in Cotton wool and I'll wager he's alergic and comes out in hives. I can only assume his childhood idol was Darren Anderton, pity he didn't mimick the right parts of his game.

I'm still trying to figure out how the poor darling has made it this far in life. Injured warming up, sniffles stop him playing, 20 minutes of running and he's dying. How did he ever make it as a pro back in his youth??? I mean can you play football from inside a bubble??

If I'm reading this correctly injuries pending someone is going to pay us £2m for Grella? Blimey some people have more money then sense.

Hoping he comes through Australia's games unscathed. Don't think anyone will blame me for being sceptical.

On a side note would be gutted to loose Emerton. Was hoping he'd be back to normal after a season of recovery.

Edit - that cotton wool would probably give him a sprained ankle or the like. The stuff is far too hard for our Vince.

That's Lucas Neill for you. one rush of blood and his country's World Cup was over. Never did have much upstairs.
