The Rover of Finland Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Nicko, do you have any player names who could join Rovers cause of this Kentaro connection? On page 132 is a link which includes players represent by Jerome Anderson. There was a few real stars and a few really good players including Bentley. But not many. SEM websites don´t have their clients listed but there is pictures and I assume they are their clients. But there are only couple same names than on Anderson´s list (again link on page 132). And SEM names were really crappy almost all. SWP was named their man since day one when Kentaro connection was mentioned. Can´t find him anywhere there.

benhben Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/blackburn_rovers/9290941.stm Not sure which one of the numerous recent threads to post this in. BBC are reporting managers will have the final say in transfers. Still reads to me like Kentaro are recomending players to the manager who will then be advised to take them or risk falling out with Venkys.
King Kenny's Magic Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 The first thing that has to happen is some OFFICIAL statement about Steve Kean's future. That would surely help. The most revealing remark came in the local Pune paper yesterday - it was what I had heard too but without being sure how long he was in charge. But not a word about the man who will be in charge for the next game and probably a long time beyond. Venky's and Kentaro need to sort out this announcement fast and be specific. Or maybe they like a slaughtering in the papers every day. ...and by Mike Parry . I'd also like to point out that he compared Venkys buying rovers,to a sherbert lemon company buying a missile company. MG soon put him in his place. Oh and hows the promotion going Nicko? Lol!
cletus Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Rovers have always done this. Every decent player we get moves on to supposedly bigger and better things I know that, as do most people. Every club has a selling price for their star players (even Man Ure & Real Madrid)....but some players actually have loyalty too. What upsets me is the fact Rovers look like they will become a springboard for footballing mercinaries keen to break into the mega-rich world of the premiership. They won`t be interested in Blackburn Rovers, they will only be interested in their next signing on fee & move. How can any manager expect to nurture a team spirit & togetherness within the club when everybody in that dressing room is only there for the short-term? I`m not saying this is going to happen, but i fear it might. I remember when Hughes took over. The team was struggling, but we dug in & ground out results. Rovers got a 'dirty' reputation because of that, BUT i was proud of the fact we had a team that battled for each other. A dogs of war mentality. I just fear a team full of mercinaries won`t play for the team or the shirt, just for themselves.

USRoverME Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Or maybe they like a slaughtering in the papers every day. Any publicity.... ???
Steve Moss Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 The new owners have just invested 45 M, at the advice of Kentaro presumably. They surely don't want to loose that cash getting relegated. I'm sure that they don't want to lose that money. But the issue is not what they want so much as it is do they have the character and knowledge to achieve whatever gols they have set themselves. To date, that is not looking like a solid bet. for me, Id like to see Sven with Pearce as his assistant in the dressing room getting em going....Sven knows a good player and he's got contacts man....And he is a "big" manager in my opinion...Tugay to come into the backroom as coach too. Sven has underperformed in his last few management positions, in my opinion.
daveoftherovers Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 As it's got far too serious on this site lately: For Morale we have to sign a couple of these guys: Then go into watching it on youtube and check out all the other one's in the right hand side, the fishing one, bobsleigh and Rambo ones are hilarious!
John Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Not that quiet. Blackburn to increase interest in Kris Boyd
Bobby G Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Yep, not deemed good enough for Middlesbrough, but seen as falling in line with the owners vision for the club!
MarkBRFC Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Its pretty quiet but thats not too suprising considering what has happened over the last few days. Im sure come January then we'll be linked with all sorts of rediculous names.
nicko Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Not that quiet. Blackburn to increase interest in Kris Boyd I would be shocked and amazed if there is anything in that. Mind you, the previous manager wanted him - apperently - in the last window. Good miss then, good miss now.
Bobby G Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Yes Allardyce supposedly wanted him when we had absolutely no money and needed a striker, and instead got Benjani. Context was different back then, or was it...

Context was different back then, or was it... I would be pretty certain that Steve Kean does not fancy Kris Boyd. A lot of things will become more apparent soon.
Bobby G Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Are you still standing by that there is significant money available for January, on the levels of being able to get a striker, box to box player, and right sided midfielder on the levels of Nzogbia or the sorts?
67splitscreen Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Bentley 5m, Larsson 2m not us though Can't see spuds losing so much.
Blackburn Ravers Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Yep, not deemed good enough for Middlesbrough, but seen as falling in line with the owners vision for the club! Do you remember when we signed Tim Sherwood from Norwich? One of Kennys first signings, He couldnt hack it in the 2nd division but he started showing his class when we got promoted to the Premier League, Im not saying he definitely will do the same but it has happened before now

Ricky Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Anyone know how Danny Rose has been doing at Bristol? Burst onto the scene with a cracking goal against arsenal but can't get into the spurs midfield. Only 20 and wants out of spurs. Could be an option.

Total mercenary and a waste of money, lets hope somebody can take this guy, going forward he is good, defensively he is better on the bench.

Good call but what do we do with Olsson ??? although from what I've seen of Rose, which isn't much, he does look slightly better than Olsson.
