I've been told that he is still going to join us, though. He wants to join us, there are just a couple of contract issues to be resolved, which I have been told shouldn't really be a problem. It may just delay the transfer by a day or so.

Which I'm sure will be greeted as the end of the world by many.

Dear David,

I don't want to put any extra pressure on your shoulders, but I have the feeling you are going to do a brilliant job for us. Not sure why, because the only few things I've seen are some random bicycle kick-goals on the Tube, but I just have the feeling you are going to net us 15 goals and give us an unexpected 9th place finish this season. Welcome to the Blackburn Rovers Chicken eating Football Club. My faith is restoring bit by bit, at least we're getting some depth in our squad.

depth accepted a bid for 6 million for Kalinic and bought a player similar age with a less successful domestic and international career for 2 million.

We haven't added depth but its good to see fans are easily pleased.

This is good that our untested transfer team is learning the ropes with a bit of a scrap over a player that wants PL football with no other Premier League clubs in for him.

Always wait for someone to pull on the shirt first braddock, who knows he could be the next Kevin Gallagher... or could be a Duncan Shearer, the SPL is so poor it's very difficult to make a judgement.

Cracking point. Not saying he's not going to be a good player, but the only positive I can see at this moment in time is that we are making £4m profit in this particular exchange.

I'd say the standards of the two leagues are probably the same and Niko came having a better record and look how that turned out. So I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

It's the way we do business, if anyone following this episode didn't expect a snag somewhere along the line then they don't know Rovers.

Snags R Us. It seems we're still in pole position though and I can't see their manager (or the player himself) wanting him to go to Blackpool or Rangers.

The same untested team that negotiated the transfer of Petrovic who was wanted by a number of clubs including Roma?

I'm sure they are struggling.

I meant more that the deal had hit a snag. Sorry I wasn't clear.

I'll take the word of Roberto, thanks.

Point being that we obviously have a team in place, that has managed to negotiate a transfer fee, sort out the medical and settle personal terms with Petrovic, all thats needed is a work permit- it usually takes a couple of weeks and everything is in place.

Now according to reliable sources we are looking to spend money on a number of players, as I have said a number of times- wait and see.

Do you understand message boards and the way they work? By posting you open yourself up to people reading what you say and replying. People tend to reply if they agree or disagree. That's the usual way things work. When you get two posters who post a lot and have differing views they are bound to communicate.

Can i just ask, what can Venky's, Blackburn Rovers, or anyone do to make you post a mildly positive comment??

There are plenty of reasons to criticise Venky's and I dont doubt that you know more about certain issues than other people but when you write on the Honda thread that we shouldn't be looking at him because we dont have the cash, complain that Park Chu Young isn't enough of a 'marquee' signing, and now complaining that we're trying to sign a player who isn't wanted by many other premier league clubs.... dont you realise how you come across??? You've clearly decided that you hate Venky's which is fine, but to try so hard to find a negative angle on every single story regarding the club, it looks so childish and petty. You must be better then that surely.

Dont know anything about this kid, but considering the likes of Steven Fletcher came down and did well, I dont think it'd do any harm to see how he'd cope in the Prem.

Agreed the SPL is poor, but also must acknowledge that whenever we play Celtic or Rangers we always lose...

We're actually not quite as good as we like to think we are

Good grief Phil give it a rest. We know your beloved trust has left and that you have "inside" information on the evil Venky empire ( I am not a fan either!) but will you stop polluting threads with this almost childlike vendetta against everything Venky’s.

The vast majority of posters either dislike or are highly sceptical of our owners, but I for one am sick of reading your ultra-negative posts.

For a Goodwillie chant we could use the tune of the Grand Old Duke of York....

You know the one that goes

"And when he was up he was up

And when he was down he was down

and when he was only half way up he was neither up nor down"

OR

we could chant

"Who needs Viagra when we've got Goodwillie!!"

Or

"Staying up staying up staying up"

Eh? We lost to a very good Celtic side, nearly 10 years ago.

You are totally misreading what I am posting:

- the post you quoted is positive; it is good to see a completely untested team have a bit of a scrap in one transfer they should win in and get the experience. Is anybody but anybody suggesting Ali Merchant, Steve Kean et al are anything but inexperienced in transfer dealings? I am not complaining Goodwillie is not wanted by other PL clubs, just saying it is our good fortune that he isn't which should give the people doing their first UK transfer an easy win to give them confidence.

- Park I have simply asked whether he is coming out of the Balaji marquee pot. There are probably 20 posters who might have some reliable information on this contrary to the everybody knows nothing brigade. Others have suggested he is not good enough.

- Honda. I am not saying "we shouldn't be looking at him because we dont have the cash". I am saying roversinsider's version of events ties in with what I had heard.

- I don't hate Venky's but I do hate the totally incompetent and reckless way they have handled their ownership of our club. A bunch of dingles would have been hard pressed to mess up the Rovers worse.

As I remember, and yes quite a few years ago, but didn't we get a centre half from Dundee reserves, yes their reserve side a certain Mr Colin Hendry, look at he turned out, as bad as people make out the SPL there are some good players who can play in the EPL so if Goodwille signs lets give him some respect and support he may be another Gally, by the way if it wasn't Dundee it was one of the teams like that. :rover:
