[Archived] Who Is Making The Signings ?

Recommended Posts

It does seem strange we are appearing to be offering contracts to players without anybody in position but it would suggest whats been alluded to before, that GB will be a head coach , to coach and prepare the players for games. Player signings and contracts etc will be handled above , eventually by a DoF

Maybe they're waiting to announce Bowyer as head coach at the same time as the new DOF comes in, I think the signing of Chris Taylor would

be a fairly obvious one for Gary to suggest to the owners, he can get up and down the pitch and get some good crosses in, something we have

lacked for a while, plus he's a real grafter by all accounts.

Bigger headlines ! then get the season tickets on sale.

Even better announce Shagnew on their bikes at the same time.

Who the hell do you want to make the signings if our probable manager doesn't make them? Shebby? Anderson?

You said you would assume Bowyer was making the signings. I said why do you think that and pointed out that if a league 2 keeper is the sum of his ambition were are in fcking trouble.

But read it all wrong if you want

Another purely cynical eyed speculation thread, grrreat(yawwwwn!!!!!!)

Chirst on a bike Shebby. It's a valid question to ask

it`s obvious bowyer has had input on these moves, the lancs telegraph suggest so today.

Then why hasnt Bowyer been unveiled as the new manager before he went on holiday ? Seem to remember King was brought to the club when we had no manager and Kane.

Plus why do Rovers need another goalkeeper ? Theres no need for another unless that is.....

exactly. we are making moves to sign players. only GB can be behind these transfer moves.

Bowyer is going to India this weekend to sort out his future. fully expect him to come as the New Permanent manager of Blackburn Rovers

We signed Kane on loan under GB first spell as caretaker manager.

secondly, we need a back up goalkeeper. Robinson is out till probably October so we need a keeper and we look like we don't want to pay a fee for a back up GK like Sandomierski.

I believe that these players will have been recommended to the owners by Gary who, I have no doubt, will be officially confirmed as manager in due course. The signing of Eastwood will clearly have come from a recommendation by Keeley, who seems to have been his mentor at Portsmouth. I would have preferred to have signed Sandermierski but suspect that the Polish lad would have commanded a fee whilst Eastwood is out of contract. If the LT is right and Robinson still has two years left on his contract then I can understand the club going for a cheaper option. I believe Usai is out of contract so with Kean, Robinson, Eastwood and Urwin available I can see why the club would be reluctant to pay a fee to Genk. Unfortunately, with Robinson out injured until the Autumn it will be impossible to move him on in this transfer window and one suspects that, rightly, he would be reluctant to move if the wages on offer elsewhere don't match what he can get at Ewood Park for the next two years.

+100

Kane signing was done with a stand in manager and NO actual manager in place at Blackburn Rovers.

Who you covering up for chaddy ?

Kane was signed on the recommendation of Gary Bowyer who had seen him at both youth and Under-21 level. It was a loan deal, initially for one month, so no great mystery or conspiracy I would have thought.

Thank you ParsonBlue an excellent decision from GB it was then.

Whoever is making the decisions, I think we are signing another crock of shyte.

Onwards and downwards !

The temptation to slag this signing off is very nearly overwhelming.

You never know, it could be the star signing of the summer, brought to you in association with Venky's Chicken Guano fertilizer.

Even if Bowyer is suggesting these signings, I wonder who he then gets the go ahead from.?

Does he tell Shaw who gets approval from Venkys?

Does he tell Shebby who gets approval from Venkys.

Do Shaw or Shebby have the authority to authorise any player employment without the say so of the owners.

Does Bowyer (or Mrs Bowyer) have a direct line to Mrs D(unce)

At a normal club fans wouldn't give two hoots about this but at our club you do wonder what the hell the management structure is nowadays.

Why are Venky's even making signings when they're selling up this summer?

(Why should Abbey have all the fun?)

Maybe we're still working our way through the list of players Appleton wanted to sign. There were a lot of them after all.

and without Jones and Williamson(Appletons signings) shoring up our midfield in the final run of games, wed have been stuffed.

Not blaming Appleton for this but this ridiculous club that keeps signing players without any thought to whether we can afford them or not. Personally I still think sacking Appleton was a ridiculous decision.

It was purely political, like Berg he was fighting an up hill battle from day 1 because of the pathetic power struggle, which is no environment for success of any kind, very long shot I know, but It really wouldn't surprise me under this lot if he was brought back in(considering his contract is still rolling and where looking to sign players that he likely helped identify as targets)

Simple really.

Season kicks-off 3 August and a squad needed whoever owns or manages club come then.

My view - every effort will be made to clear the high earners and replace with cheap, cheap options and Taylor and Eastwood fit the bill. We could well be envying the signings Burnley make !

I wouldn't expect to see Dann, Hanley, Olsson1 or Rhodes here come 3 August. If takers can be found for Etuhu & Murphy then I think they will go (or terminations agreed) and if Robbo could be shifted then he would be but with a back problem and two years left on contract, he aint going anywhere.
