Rover_Shaun Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Gav he has proven this season, and for part of last, quite categorically that he cannot manage. In the sense that he is unable to get the players at his disposal to perform to their average ability let alone squeeze that extra 10%+ out of them that is needed to achieve more. This isn't even touching on the dereliction of his selection policy
roverandout Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Bowyer won't all of a sudden become a good manager, if he hasn't got it, he hasn't got it, I must confess I gave up my season ticket the day they replaced kean with another inept manager so iI can't really comment on the performances but someone as inept as bowyer wwon't have me running back to the ticket office to renew, to be honest I won't return until them scum sucking owners leave the building, it has nothing to do with what division we are in
Andyblue2 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 It's called having an opinion Andy. I make no apologies for having a different opinion to yourself and if you find it disgraceful that someone has the temerity to have a different opinion to your good self I would suggest you put me on ignore. Ok fair enough and I'm sorry if I offended you but I still think you have an agenda where there's nowt wrong and constantly spin Bowyers failings
Al Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Ok fair enough and I'm sorry if I offended you but I still think you have an agenda where there's nowt wrong and constantly spin Bowyers failingsI have to agree with that. He's like Bowyer's best buddy.
thenodrog Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 has nobody realised, that Bowyer just isnt a good manager, i mean coach? there have been quite a few times, where the players actually bailed him out by grinding out a result. His post match interviews are horrible to listen to as well I couldn't care less. On a scale of importance on the required abilities of a good manager that doesn't even rate zero.

Effectively you sound like you were disappointed to see the back of that little weevil. If you are opposed to inept managers you should have given it up the minute he was appointed because they replaced the third most experienced Prem Manager Sam Allardyce with the most inept manager ever! Public Health Warning....Not long ago there was a heated discussion thread just like this one with lots of polarised views..... ended up with us potting Big Sam and replacing him with Steve Kean!
Parsonblue Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Ok fair enough and I'm sorry if I offended you but I still think you have an agenda where there's nowt wrong and constantly spin Bowyers failings It's really quite simple Andy, I believe that under the circumstances he has done a decent job. He took over a madhouse and has brought a semblance of order to things. Clearly there is a long way to go and the finances have to be addressed. However, I have always believed that football managers - unless they are clearly making a mess of things - Iley and Kean - being two examples - should be given at least three or four years to make a mark on a club. If and when Bowyer leaves I'd want the new man to be given the same time unless we are in the bottom three and looking like being relegated.

Unfortunately time is more of the essence and finances suggest we can't waste any more on GB he's had long enough

Gav Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 😀if you want. BTW, you want him sacked now don't you? I can't keep up with you and Chaddy. Now now den play nicely or not at all. Made me laugh though!
Amo Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Ok fair enough and I'm sorry if I offended you but I still think you have an agenda where there's nowt wrong and constantly spin Bowyers failings Sometimes it's difficult, nay impossible, to separate the post from the person who posted it. It's a passionate subject and tempers are bound to flare. Bowyer can't live off the goodwill of 'not being Kean' and steadying the ship forever.
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 dont bring me into your know-feck-all club. I'd have had Mick anytime, proper manager....just like I'd have had Maclaren from holland and everyone jeered at that..... McClaren? Derby should have walked this league with that squad he got. He has Bent, Ince and Lingard on loan. They have struggle recently form
Backroom DE. Posted April 16, 2015 Author Backroom Posted April 16, 2015 Haven't Bent and Ince only joined Derby recently though? And Lingard is hardly a world beater...
frosty Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 McClaren? Derby should have walked this league with that squad he got. He has Bent, Ince and Lingard on loan. They have struggle recently form Derby before McClaren took over were just like us, hovering around 9th/10th but not doing anything worthwhile. The fact that in his first full season at Derby he's built a squad that people are saying should walk the league is testament to the job he's done there imo.
thenodrog Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I don't think it was the discussion on here that got Sam potted and Kean appointed, it was much more sinister reason than that. That is your opinion but I believe supporter hostility to Allardyce was used by Anderson as one of the reasons to persuade the venkymob to ditch him. In fact I'd be amazed if it wasn't. tbh though we are just speculating cos neither of us know the facts and those who do are keeping schhtum.

Proof of the pudding always being in the eating. We shall see. Then what did he use to keep Kean in the job? Good question and one to which I have no answer to. If I had to take a stab it would be misguided indian pride. They appointed Kean and spoke in glowing terms about him at the time. Having to admit screwing up is not something that seems to come easy to them.
donnermeat Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Haven't Bent and Ince only joined Derby recently though? And Lingard is hardly a world beater... Think Ince is a bit overrated also personally.
chaddyrovers Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Haven't Bent and Ince only joined Derby recently though? And Lingard is hardly a world beater... Bent joined on 2nd January. Ince joined on 2nd February
Backroom DE. Posted April 16, 2015 Author Backroom Posted April 16, 2015 Bent joined on 2nd January. Ince joined on 2nd February Lingard was 2nd February too, I think. A bit harsh to judge McLaren based on a group of signings that have only been there 2 or 3 months, no? They have gone on an absolutely shocking run of form in recent times, mind, but even Big Sam had to get up through the playoffs.
glen9mullan Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Derbys season is still alive ours ain't , BIG difference
Athlete Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 So it should be. With our squad our season should be very much alive
