Don't see what's so wrong with suggesting him when people have wanted bloody Shearer in past. Not just anyone is appointed at an Academy with that level of investment you know?

Its got sod all to do with that.

Someone who is in an important role (as the equivalents at Arsenal and Chelsea are for example) and always speaks highly of the club despite being treated so badly by fans in the past.

Don't know about Vinjay but personally I have a little issue with Shearer. He picked a Testimonial against Celtic? Really, makes loads of sense that one

Yes. He is the one I believe who has registered an interest. His team is already in place too...

Moyes. As if.

To be fair he has attended quite a few Rovers matches. I remember him at matches before Bowyer left and several people have reported that he's been at home and away games if I remember correctly.

Its true I have another issue with him plus the belief he would be an awful manager. He's an exceptional case though even where the other issue is concerned so never advocated booing him.

The only other offer he has on the table is Bolton Wanderers so I guess we, and the chance to work again with Irvine is attractive...

Not saying he'll get it. I'm saying he is likely to be the one Mercer referred to.
