Mercer Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Rovers set to sign Southampton striker Sam Gallagher Source is today Sun on Sunday Another Brown !?!? 15 appearances for MK Dons last season - goals 0. Sounds about right for Rovers.
Iceman Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Can he play full back?We need another goalkeeper as well, can Gallagaher play keeper as well, just in case the other 2 get injured?
Ricky Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I'm sure this is the lad Chaddy has wanted us to sign for sometime. I'm sure it's the name he mentioned previously (prior to his mk dons loan).
chaddyrovers Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 How much for? season loan. Bowyer wanted Gallagher last summer but couldn't get him due to Southampton wanted a loan fee and we couldn't pay that due to FFP Restrictions

I'm sure it's the name he mentioned previously (prior to his mk dons loan). I suggestion him last season/summer. He is a tall striker. I didn't see much of him for MK Dons so cant comment about that part of his career tbh. He was part of Pochettino Southampton PL squad when he was there.
Backroom DE. Posted August 7, 2016 Backroom Posted August 7, 2016 I didn't see much of him for MK Dons so cant comment about that part of his career tbh. 15 apps, 0 goals. Not much to say really.
G Somerset Rover Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 15 apps, 0 goals. Not much to say really.Sounds like our man. Good to see we're doing everything we can to beat the drop.

He was part of Pochettino Southampton PL squad when he was there. Says Chaddy clutching at straws. The lad is 21 next month and no longer a 'bright young thing'. I suspect he's Southampton's John O'Sullivan. He isn't going to make it there so they are getting his wages off the books - Southampton's academy/'reserve' set-up is one of the best in the country - they know what they are doing. Seems to be the traditional centre forward type (like Graham & Stokes) and not the pacey alternative we are crying out for.
Waggy76 Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Sounds like our man. Good to see we're doing everything we can to beat the drop. He could be , we dont want to beat the drop !
Ricky Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Andre Grey finished last season as top scorer. His early loan spells were hardly prolific and in lower leagues than the championship. 15 games and 1 goal so not disimilar. This lad has been at one of the best academies in the country so we need to take some solace in that. Maybe he'll be the right fit for us and be a great signing. Who knows. Personally I'd be a lot more concerned about the back 4 based on yesterday's showing.

Still, maybe he'll be able to a job if / when the imposter is replaced.
bluefred Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Need to bring in a new keeper, two full backs, a centre half ,a stricker and a terrier in midfield and that's just to stay up .
Lancaster Rover Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I believe Lenihan can be that midfield terrier, he just needs some help in there. He put a shift in yesterday but unfortunately for him was doing the running for two men as Akpan was nowhere to be seen when we were defending.
Backroom Tom Posted August 7, 2016 Author Backroom Posted August 7, 2016 Surely pace was what we needed not more aerial prowess Smells of clownpants just taking anyone that was offered from the big league
chaddyrovers Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Surely pace was what we needed not more aerial prowess Smells of clownpants just taking anyone that was offered from the big league We need pace but its depends who we can get in depending on finances and whether the parent club will let them out?I would like Akpom but will Arsenal let him out tho. Big Question? Does he want to come? Can we afford his wages? Do Arsenal want him to stay in under 21's squad after his experience at Hull City last season? This is where Rovers owners need to finance some Transfers. 3 or 4 good signings.
Backroom Tom Posted August 7, 2016 Author Backroom Posted August 7, 2016 So we need pace but just take this lad because we can get him?
Ricky Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Sounds like the rest of the transfer policy this summer tom.
chaddyrovers Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 From Paul Wheelock As reported this morning, #rovers are attempting to sign Southampton striker Sam Gallagher on loan.
Mike Graham Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Is SG any good? I know next to nothing about him.
chaddyrovers Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 So we need pace but just take this lad because we can get him? We need 4 strikers tho Tom. Question, are any pacey strikers available? Can we afford to buy? Will the owners spend?
