[Archived] "walk With Birdy" - 18/75 Protest - Wolves Sky Game

This new reporter Johnny Greaney in the LT sounds like he is blaming the result on the protest

Indeed...

WHATEVER your views on the 1875 protest, it’s hard to argue that it didn’t have an effect on the game.
Rovers had just taken the lead through Sam Gallagher’s thunderous shot when fans started streaming in up the steps and filled all four sides of the ground full of ‘Venky’s Out’ chants.
Wolves boss Rob Edwards said later his side enjoyed the moment, likening it to a European tie as fireworks lit up the sky behind the Riverside Stand.
The rage from supporters is aimed directly at the owners, but those on the field will have sensed the change in mood inside Ewood Park, even if they didn’t realise it at the time.
The 18th-minute walk-in signalled the start of a Wolves resurgence, while the 75th-minute walk-out was followed soon after by the equaliser.
It just felt strange - these things don’t normally happen at football matches.
Whether it will make any difference to those watching from India remains to be seen.

Having reflected on the protests since Saturday evening and seeing various points arguing about how successful they were or not and how many fans were part of it. I wondered about the real measure of success, the only real one we care about.

Did Venky's pay attention to the protests, did it or will it make a difference and/or has it changed something in their heads? That, as far as my musings will take me, are the things that we need to find out.

Or is it like everything else Rovers fans have done for the last 6 years and we've just spent more time pissing into the wind?

What a T. Watt. No protests at Birmingham or at Bristol but same late goal.

Coyle asked about relationship between owners and fans - says he knew it was going to be a big job. Admitted to a poor start but says after first 7 games playing well. Should have won on Saturday if it wasnt for officials. Thinks he will get further investment from Venkys if they can secure position in league. Coyle waffling about plan to get Rovers back to the premier league. He says he is sure he will get further investment if he can get secure in the championship.

Last 8 games "we've been top 10 in the league".

"In time we'll get to where we need to be."

JW - "what do players think about protests?"

OC - "everyone has right to protest - waffle, waffle - let's see what we can do on the field, waffle, great goal by Gallacher, waffle, rebuilding club"

apparently venkys will invest if the club stabilises apparently we have played well in the last 8 games I must have missed that, basically waffling like he does

cheap dig at the fans from Dean Ashton - Jim white basically sucking off Owen Coyle and managed to slip a sly Kean reference in, basically pro venkys no suprise

At least it's not live on sky anymore now we are under the radar and small news the old SEM connection have had to take their agenda small time to talkshite.

Just a complete watered down rehash of the Kean era stuff missing all the key points out on purpose.

Owen Coyle a breath of fresh air apparently - with a plan which he didn't actually explain

Yes he did, he said he was going to get into work with a smile on his face, work hard and start winning games....

Oh...

Perhaps not quite the mastermind Jim White thinks he is...

Worse than the SKY/SEM Sports PR stunt at Brockhall, where he blew smoke up Kean's ass for ten minutes?

The whole segment has been on a par with that tbh - subtly blaming fans defending venkys with *facts* about investment 6 years same lies and the same propaganda

This is what puts the setup at Rovers completely different from the other crisis clubs. The pre prepared purposely set up pieces that regularly pop up trying to defend them with complete disregards to the actual mess the football club is in and where it continues to head.

Like everything else involving Venkys and more so the hidden partners it is a complete sham to present one story to the outside world whilst everything involving Blackburn can go to hell quietly.

Agreed the difference is now we can all see through it

They are only concerned with what the outside world thinks though. They know we know but don't care yet to keep the heat off and carrying on their scam they need to deflect outside attention.

Its finished as an important regional paper. No local presence for years now.

You're wrong. The LT is key to local opinion of those who don't spend all day on social media or message boards.

Far more 'casual' fans wanted to talk about how bad Kean was and whether he should go after the "Time To Go Steve" front page. It got all of Blackburn talking about the issue.

If the LT started backing, or at least seriously reporting, on the efforts to remove Venkys, you would see a bigger swing in opinion.

Like Thwaites though, they aren't interested in supporting the views of their own local customers.
