The Daily Mail article is presumably because we have been shunted into the spotlight with the upcoming FA Cup tie, and they need a narrative for our club. The Venky's stuff has been done to death, they're bored of it now - they wrote a few articles on it, so problem solved on that one. Needed something fresh - let's just say Coyle is on the ropes. It will not happen. As others have alluded to - why now? We have been under threat of relegation all season, so what has changed? They won't want to play United without a front man to field the questions and stick his mug on the line. Expect to see that sickening grin appearing plenty more this week/weekend.

Interesting that LET have chosen to publish Mourinho's thoughts on the Utd game instead of any quote at all from Coyle.   In fact, the last Coyle spout were his post-match comments after the Sheff Wed game.

I hate scraping around looking for the faintest of hopes, but perhaps this is something?

Coyle not being under any pressure despite being in the bottom 3 all season gives a narrative all right; the narrative that BRFC no longer expects to be a Championship club.

It is telling that the only other club to retain their manager is Burton Albion, a club not long out of non league, with average crowds of 4000 and who League 1 football next season would be expected and in line with the owners means. Any outsider looking in on Ewood Park could only come to the conclusion that Rovers are now a club of such means- the fact we've got a 30,000 stadium, superb training facilities and a more than competitive wage bill says something is badly amiss at this club.

There is plenty to bash the club for however you can't be having a go for them NOT coming out and denying an internet rumour based on exactly what?  Can you imagine if they did come out with a statement of confidence in the manager - Christ this MB would go into meltdown.  Sometimes people will have a go no matter which way the club jump as it is almost the default setting nowadays.

Most clubs would put a statement out if it's being rumoured around that their manager is getting the sack. It's not just an internet rumour it was published in the press as well.

Hope it's true but he might be talking about the game on Sunday regarding we have 3 players missing.

Just read the tweets, certainly reads like he's talking about players unfortunately.
