RoversClitheroe Posted March 19 Posted March 19 So an alleged emergency meeting and no Comms out of it? Am I reading that right? Quote

J*B Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Any further on finding out what the emergency meeting was? 3 Quote
davulsukur Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Saying they are having a meeting with the club. @glen9mullan's post is better though! 7 Quote

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 25 Moderation Lead Posted March 25 I was hoping the days of carrot dangling (basically attention seeking, let's call a spade a spade, here) were done. Sadly not. Sigh. 1 Quote
Old Rover Posted March 26 Posted March 26 WATR must also be held to account for some of these season ticket prices. They have been working with the board over a prolonged period of time and have always been banging on about a cheaper "entry level" price. They have now got what they wanted with a respectable price of £299 in the Riverside. But they did not cover all bases (and you have to with swags) and I bet they didn't even contemplate that the entry level price would be at a cost increase to the other stands. They do not make things clear with their half baked announcements like the one the last month, the one where I think they were having a go at the owners and after reading it I didn't know if we were to protest, boycott, show are support. Not clear like their strategy on season tickets. The owners and directors just do not take them seriously. This week they have made a half-arsed statement about a fluid situation and hint that they are doing something but don't really announce anything really. They really need to stop sitting on the fence and pretending they have serious influence. Burn their bridges with the board and connections and organise a real demonstration and a plan before it's too late. It's time for proper action or else we will be obliterated. 2 Quote
Forever Blue Posted March 26 Posted March 26 The issue for WATR is credibility. They positioned themselves as ‘critical friends’ of the club/owners, naively thinking they could influence meaningful change. They can’t and they never will. The owners and the Board at Rovers simply don’t care what they, or any other Rovers fan, thinks. They now seem to have done a volte face and are positioning themselves as the vanguard of the ‘Venky’s Out’ movement. Quote

Mattyblue Posted March 27 Posted March 27 What’s the old line, ‘a camel is a horse designed by committee’. I always get that vibe from WATR, especially with the contrast with Glen, too much procedure and caution and not enough seizing of the moment with this lot. Quote

Upside Down Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Can someone give some clarification about whether the trust are a part of the recent protest movements against the club or not? @TheRoversGRL This is that communication we've been talking about... Quote

Mattyblue Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Bit of reflection needed within the WATR committee after today. 7 Quote

StHelensRover Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Yes, I signed up when I read the statement they put out about Eustace as there seemed to be some impetus but I've heard nothing at all since then. I'd be interested to know why they opted out of working with other fan groups, there might be a good reason, but what is it? Do they have anything to add or another plan of attack for putting these executives and the owners under pressure? 2 Quote
toogs Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Very dissappointed with WATR if I’m honest. I know people are giving up their time, mean well etc etc but at least have a plan, otherwise you are wasting your time. The Eustace statement was great, then nothing. No follow up. Radio silence. 2 Quote

glen9mullan Posted March 28 Posted March 28 We need to just relax and cut the trust some slack It's a thankless task giving your time for free to try and make a difference. These guys deeply care about the club and have been banging their heads against the wall like most of us for near on 15 years. Sometimes we make the right choices, sometimes the wrong ones. We make them though in what we think at the time is the right direction. Yes things need to improve, but there is improvement in all of us. Working in unity is the only way to achieve the goals we all seek, a club that cares for us as much as we care for the club. Today has been a good day in turning up the heat. The trust has a crucial part to play in everyone getting what we seek, a club in the right hands. 1 Quote
