You can see in this image from 2014 how the stone paving used to be a sandy brown colour. It's a dirty greeny brown colour these days. I'm not by any means an expert in stone aging, but it seems to me that it has been utterly neglected, rather than *respected*

If the Rovers was a child, social services would have been alerted a long time ago for the clear and obvious signs of neglect. Anyone can see how the club's association with football is only peripheral to whatever 'business' is actually transacted behind the scenes - it is an irrelevance and an inconvenient historical legacy that allows something else to go on without proper scrutiny. The contempt with which the decent folk of Blackburn are treated by the owners is nauseating - makes me incandescent to think they are not challenged by the so called authorities for their sad little game.

Exactly. A scandal that is being perpetrated in full view of those who should be ensuring it doesn't happen. Someone, somewhere has information that would blow the doors off. It is waaaay past the time for them to step forward, in the name of decency, propriety and fairness to the bona-fide supporters of Blackburn Rovers. A couple of things I noticed just from being sat in the Riverside - two broken signs need removing or replacing and the far wall needs cleaning and re- painting.

Would probably cost next to nothing in the general scheme of things but just shows the owners (if they know) or more probably their lackies couldn't care less.

Jack's statue needs restoring back to its original condition as well.

I actually noticed whilst driving past the stadium yesterday that they've replaced the 'Welcome to Ewood Park' sign above the JW/Darwen End corner entrance.

That's this year's maintenance budget blown.

The owners should know but havent bothered coming over in a decade.

They clearly dont care about the state of the facilities hence their denial of a full pitch revamp a couple of years ago.

At a functioning company you don't go to the CEO for menial things. 

There's clearly zero budget to fix things at Ewood, which is why the stadium is being left to rot.

exactly. Its a basic job, just bloody fix it 

A few weeks I emailed the club about the leak from the roof during the game, since then its been fixed.

Jack's area needs soft washing, as does the Riverside with a lick of paint.

Upper jack walker stairwell to block W11w has a leak which is subsequently rotting the paint off leaving that manky popcorn effect on the beams and all down the walls.

Weeds all around the grounds, fan zones need jet washing/soft washing. 

The timeline needs addressing and putting back up. 

The top of the stand steel beams needs another paint. From a far just looks grotty.

The seats in the stands need replacing or reglazing they are becoming light faded.

Some of those is a maintenance issue however if budgets have been cut ie jet washer has broken and not been replaces, or no longer have a maintenance contract to a firm Spraying pesticides/herbicides the owners should know. 

A football club needs CEOs/Owners on the shop floor. You're creating an image and a brand. The small things go a long way in business.

Fully in agreement that Ewood Park has been neglected and needs much care, but comparing it to the murder of a baby through abuse is either a ridiculous exaggeration of what is going on at a football club or downplaying an evil and vile act.

When Birmingham's current owners came in, one of the first things they did was give St Andrews a facelift. Obviously in the long term they're planning to move to a new stadium, but the existing ground had a load of issues, looked shite and knackered. I went there last time we played there and it looked miles better. In most parts all they had done was clean it up, repaint it, upgrade signs and billboards, add new digital/electronic features, etc. but I definitely noticed the difference. It probably cost a million quid, but like the Venkys, they're not short of the money. It's a small thing but it doesn't go unnoticed and it puts pride into the club and the fan base.

It's basic pride. Nothing more nothing less.

Some people let their house/garden/personal appearance slip, others take pride and ensure they or their property are always maintained to a reasonable standard. It speaks volumes as the face of the club - the first impression tens of thousands will get as they walk towards the ground or sit in it.

Some will of course not be able to afford to always do that. But I'm sure the billionaires of Pune can afford to look after basic maintenance.

In some ways it helps highlight our plight because it is living, breathing proof of the indifference and lack of pride and respect they have for the institution they have taken hostage. It ends any suggestions from the head in sand brigade that these are decent, well meaning, caring people. The clear proof for all people who visit Ewood is that is not the case - they can't even go to the trouble of ensuring basic maintenance - pitch, paint, signs, even the focal point of the JW statue - are kept in a decent condition.

Nor can they hide behind the convenient 'FFP' excuse which they have been able to do for so many other aspects of their negligent regime.

And if you've so little interest, pride or care to look after such trivial things then you can forget them worrying about results, performances, league position.
