Let's Talk Tyrhys Dolan

1 in 6 performer at best and breaks down more attacks than he contributes to. Wouldn’t be missed at any club with a competent recruitment team.

The problem with Dolan is that he has to be a hard worker, to make up for his lack of everything else.

Dolan’s grown on me this season. I think he’s learning more about playing to his strengths. He is a goal threat and he is capable of putting in some really good crosses. His pressing and work rate are excellent. His weakness is losing possession too easily, either through trying to be too clever, trying to run his man on the outside, or poor quality passes. 

We got him on a free and have probably been paying him peanuts. He’s been a really good signing based on that alone.

If he could improve his decision making he’d be a much better player. Souey did that with Matt Jansen so somebody should be able to do the same with Dolan.

Which would be typical, not that it effects the budget anyway.

He'll be missed by me that's for sure.

He can certainly be inconsistent, but of he wasn't then he'd likely be playing in the division above.

Always a solid worker and on his day could pull off some great stuff.

I seriously doubt he'll be replaced by someone even half as good.

I would rather have him than Mose him, Thats for sure and will be sorry to see him leave

Why would he stay? He's probably on peanuts and has been a regular. Good injury record. Good championship squad player. He'll probably go to derby where JE will get better out of him like he did this season 

I'm always sad to see our players who put maximum effort, leave.

Yes he doesn't score or assist as many as we expect but we finished 7th which was way above our expectations after last season so I think he's done alright this season

When you browse other clubs forums or see stuff on social media in regard to 'which player would you take' from another club Dolan is a regular name mentioned.

'Always looks good when i see them on telly/always has a good game against us/busy little player etc'

There'll be a lot of interest in this lad so the wages and signing fee he desires will be out there.

Ty is an absolute credit to the club - has given his all, always fit and available, has played week in week out for the last few years, a rarity in our squad. Fans expect him to tear it up every game, but the defensive side and covering side of his game has really come on, and to perform at that level and keep fit is something we shouldn't take for granted. When he's on it, he really is on it, and at times he's lit up Ewood all on his own. 

After certain games myself and fans around me have found themselves walking away saying you wouldn't miss him, maybe we can cope with him leaving, he can go etc. His inconsistency is what frustrates fans, as it comes from a place of genuine love for the lad - I think we all know his potential. He's got to capitalise on it now while he's young and I wouldn't begrudge him a move in the end, he deserves it for being a dedicated performer. 

If he did perform week in week out at the level we all know he can play at, then he would have left Rovers already, plain and simple.

I'm more worried about the club's ability to replace a player with those attributes, even just the very basics of someone you can rely on to play 60-70mins every week tearing up and down the pitch, involved in chances and coming back to cover, without periods on the treatment table, for an entire season.

It says more about the state of Rovers, that we couldn't afford a player like Ty Dolan if he was at another club. That's the bit that depresses me the most about the whole situation.
