I think to most people involved at any level, it was a clear and obvious error, as the officials missed a keeper deliberately handballing outside his penalty box. 1 Quote

Perhaps football should go down the same route as Rugby League, and have the concerned officials actually discuss what has occurred and come to the correct decision according to the rules in place. But that is for the grown-ups to decide. Quote
Dreams of 1995 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago It was great to see Adam Wharton on that stage. Just wish it was in our colours He is a brilliant player and his progressive passing will give defenders nightmares. I agree with a lot of the comments about Pep-ball. It’s becoming easier to defend against it. If the ball is in front of going side to side then you are in for an easy game. When that ball is sent through you or over your head…so much harder to defend against I liked Whartons comment on the news extract someone posted - he could have 100% passing success if he went side to side every time. But he isn’t interested in that. He plays high risk passes and moves the team on. What is good is that in Glasner he has found a coach who encourages that. Losing possession at Palace isn’t the sin it is in a Pep team. That Wharton isn’t discouraged by some of those passes not working out is his biggest strength. He should think carefully about his next move - Grealish is a great example. His charm was his dribbling and City have drummed that out of him 1 Quote

I wonder what could possibly cause this fixation... Honestly, our club is bigger than this. If I were supporting some National League club, then I would love to follow the rise of an academy player. But what a f*cking tiny club mindset. 2 Quote
Mattyblue Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago He’s a Blackburn lad and Rovers fan, I’d be interested in how he does even if he’d never come through our academy. You aren’t an east Lancs lad yourself so you aren’t arsed, fair enough, but there’s nothing ‘tiny’ about it. 5 Quote

He was hardly going to slum it at this ambitionless circus in the Championship for too long and waste his career. He didn't force the club to sell him, in fact the rumours were that the club basically forced him to leave, saying they needed the money to keep running. 4 Quote

We don't have to spend the entirety of our interest in football on purely Blackburn Rovers current issues in order to not have a tiny club mindset. We can love the club, want it to succeed, think we are a sleeping giant, and still follow the exploits of a Blackburn born, Rovers trained ex player who is a fan. The two things are not mutually exclusive. There's only so much you can talk about current club events without becoming afflicted with clinical depression anyway... 3 Quote

They were done fair and square yesterday and how he was with Henderson at full time, was absolutely pathetic. Henderson was the one who lost it in front of the BBE when he was playing for Shrewsbury in our promotion from L1 season. Epic tantrum 1 Quote

Mattyblue Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago There’s a difference between the back and forth about the fee (has got tedious, hands up) and wanting him to do well in his career. Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 5 hours ago, riverholmes said: I'm not sure, but I wonder if Wharton has not been the same since his groin surgery mid-season. Palace continued to play him when he was struggling badly, putting off the op. This despite the fact that they have a fair few central midfielders. I don't know the details, obviously, but from afar, it was negligent, at best, and maybe even cynical. As a result of having his op. later, clubs needing a quick fix couldn't consider him for the January transfer window. He certainly wasn't great against Villa in the semi-final and outshone by Kamada, in my opinion (despite the pundits lazy bandwagoning). Hopefully, he will return to his best. It wasn’t a game for Wharton to shine in. There was hardly anybody in front of him to pass to. Having said the thst he showed another side of his game. He defended diligently with good discipline like the rest of the Palace team. Another thing I don’t like about City is this tactic where if they are beaten by an opponent who’s breaking away their first reaction is pull the opponent back by the shirt/arm etc. They were at it again yesterday throughout the game. It’s creeping in to other teams as well. Quote
USABlue Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Never a penalty, and VAR called it one. Just lends credence to my thoughts that it is all about helping the big clubs. Game is rigged anymore. Never in a million years a penalty it's a yellow for the diving cheating pillock. VAR just served to validate cheating. Edited 4 hours ago by USABlue Quote

You can disagree with me, but the reasoning that you use is poor. 15 years ago we would have been laughing at Burnley had they been turning up to FA Cup finals with flags to support an ex-player. There are few examples that are more indicative of just how far this club has fallen. We could run through a list as long as my arm of academy players or 'Blackburn lads' who didn't get this type of attention when they left. Quote

I disagree, and I think that City might face more unfavourable decisions, with their protracted case against the premier league. Just an opinion no proof. Quote
Mattyblue Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) How is the ‘reasoning poor’? He was brought up a five minute drive from me, he’s a fan of my club. Can’t say I remember any other Blackburners since Bryan Douglas who have had the career he will. I will follow his career and make no apologies for it. You have no connection to the area, so don’t get it, not really my problem. Edited 3 hours ago by Mattyblue 4 Quote

If you saw other clubs doing this you’d think it’s incredibly tin pot (and you’d be correct) Quote
mhead Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago After he was removed/signed by Palace, he turned up one Saturday at an Event in Wilpshire/Salesbury that my Grandsons went to. My daughter took a picture of Adam with them in their Rovers tops. She sent copies of the photos to the Senior Training Centre for Scott to get Adam to sign. I got a phone call the NEXT day to say they were signed and waiting for collection. JW Upper season ticket holders will confirm how many times Adam was at a Rovers game in the last 15 months. The Wilpshire Pirlo is one of our own.....in a long line stretching past David Dunn, Bryan Douglas all the way thru Bob Crompton to the Club Founders. In our low key(!)150th Year we should be celebrating them all much more. 4 Quote
Forever Blue Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago I’m fully invested in following AW’s career. He seems a very unassuming, likeable lad who also happens to be a very very good footballer. Most importantly, he’s also a Rovers fan. Cant wait to see how he gets on. Apologies if that makes me a bit ‘cringe’. 2 Quote
