Newcastle failing into 5th sums up the PL this year. Ref obviously had a mare in the United/Villa game, but Villa should still have been beating that awful United team comfortably. I think they may regret throwing away such a golden opportunity this season - Forest too, although their good season was much more unexpected. 

Meanwhile one of next season's PL "Champions" League representatives loses their final game 4-1 at home to Brighton, completing a season of domestic humiliation. Took a look at the Spurs forum and they all seem to want Ange gone. Give 'em hell Chadster.

Man Utd and Tottenham being crap (and the CL places going down to a not exactly elite fifth) has led to this narrative to how open and meritocratic the Premier League now is. Top 4? Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea.

Amorim has said repeatably that he won't change his formation and that the players must adapt to his style of play and formation otherwise they will be not playing

Newcastle and Spurs have both won trophies. Newcastle have played some good football and deserved Champions League football. Villa in the first half didn't have a shot at all. 

I stand by what I said about Spurs should stick with Ange Postecoglou and he deserved a trophy which Spurs fans wanted. He has delivered success. If I was Levy I would stand by Ange Postecoglou and looking to bring in a few quality players like another striker, wide player, centre defender and defensive midfielder.

Biggest disappointment of the day was Forest's failure to beat Chelsea.  Forest have had a wonderful season and no one likes Chelsea. Spuds revert to type after their lucky Europa win - the manager will be gone soon. No one likes them either. 

Glad it's all over. Monotonous, ;pointless league enlivened this season only by Forest's unexpected success.

How it makes sense to come into a club and refuse to even consider playing anything other than a pre conveived and very specific tactic rather than actually considering the squad at his disposal is beyond me.

Crazy isn't it. If there's one way to show that you're not dynamic and adaptable as manager it's that. Surely also a wet dream for opposition managers who know exactly how he's going to set up each week. 

Managers these days are wedded too much to playing styles when really your philosophy should be to win football matches. Sometimes that's playing sexy football sometimes it's two banks of 4 and hoof it up to a big lad.

maybe he can only coach that style and formation? Amorim has been 3-4-2-1 formation head coach since he started his coaching hasn't he?

We all know that he won a trophy.

Assuming that he isn't potted imminently after overseeing their worst league season in decades, that will soon be forgotten though come the new season, when, if they don't radically and quickly improve their league form, he will be history.

Villa have lodged a complaint after ref Bramall blew for what tv says is an incorrect decision preventing a villa goal. VAR could not get involved.

Villa saying ref should have been more experienced due to what was at stake. Bramall has been ref at 12 championship games in 24-25. 

Can't see villa will get a satisfactory answer from this. Games over and refs decision is final in this case.

Get it right up Villa. Horrid club and wretched fans. I shall be walking into my work office in the West Midlands tomorrow beaming like the Cheshire Cat (we work bank holidays before anyone says anything!)

Lest they forget the goal they conceded that never was - because of a goal-line tech fuck up - in the 19-20 Covid season at home vs. Sheff United, that had it been corrected awarded would have seen them relegated at the season's end.

Yes Ange has said their season in the league wasn't good enough but I would take such a poor season in the league to win a trophy. 

I would stick with him and buy 4 or 5 quality signing like another striker, wide player, defensive midfielder and centre back. 

What Levy will do, I wouldnt be surprised if he sack him and went for Frank or Iraola or Silva as his replacement as reported for a few weeks now

The referee clearly made a mistake over the Villa "goal", but making a formal complaint reflects badly on Villa and shows a lack of class. Rather like their obnoxious fans

Amorim has said he is staying and he had meetings in Monaco on Friday with Ratcliffe and others. 

He has made first signing in Cunha from Wolves and it has been reported he has told Garnacho he needs to find a new club.
