I’m 100% behind Rovers not carrying on with Macron and 1000000% not going with Gary Aspen. From someone who has worked in that Industry both great decisions.

Sounds like your on the same page as Suhail Pasha and Venkys 🙈

"I understand there might be some disappointment amongst those who like SPZL but whose clubs are not adidas sponsored. I am a Blackburn Rovers supporter so I get it but that's the very reason we have the neutral SPZL F.C. range. I doubt my club will be getting another opportunity to secure an adidas kit deal any time soon (they had their chance) so whilst I would love to see Blackburn Rovers SPZL it's unlikely that it is ever going to happen now."

We are and will never be the club we ever was.

Maybe they are just desperate to get the Issa's on side and involved somehow or perhaps someone smells the faint aroma of a 'finders fee'.

After all said sniffer has officially claimed involvement in the previous takeover but either way i'd suggest he's on the wrong scent here.

Could you imagine how much Spzl kit we would have shifted. It would have been absolutely amazing. But no, we want the cheap option 😞

Surely they couldn't go back to wanting Spzl now surely

We really need Andy Bayes to push hard for once - he’s got to ask all those for answers. LET can’t and National media are doing well by reporting. He has to follow suit. Simple non football related question for the Board  - Isn’t all of this damaging the corporate reputation of a multi billion dollar enterprise?

Macron’s deal is up at the end of this season. As of April 2025 Rovers were allowed to talk to other suppliers, but not before. As part of the deal Macron also have matching bid rights (they have to be told what any new offer is and be given the opportunity to match it).

That’s the facts, but just MAYBE the following happened…

MAYBEWaggott had been talking to adidas, largely due to Gary Aspden. MAYBE It was off the record but it got very clear they were very keen around October 2024.

MAYBE Suhail got wind of Waggott talking to adidas and tried to tell him that Yasir would be doing the kit deal and not him. MAYBE Waggott told him no, as he had the relationship with Gary and subsequently with adidas.

MAYBE As a result Suhail got in a strop and went off talking to Castore, and told Waggott to forget about adidas and that we’d be going with Castore “to keep the Issa brothers onside”.

MAYBE Suhail then went to Macron to tell them he was negotiating a really good deal with Castore, so they would need to put in a much improved deal. And MAYBE Macron went mad as this broke the exclusivity agreement and MAYBE threatened legal action.

MAYBE Waggott was planning on flying to Italy to smooth things over with Macron but eventually did it on the phone, but MAYBE they chilled out a bit. MAYBE Waggott explained the local connection to adidas and that they would be offering loads of things macron couldn’t match (Spezial kit, boot deal, exhibition at Ewood, new club shop, Spezial trainers). MAYBE Macron accepted that couldn’t be matched.

In April they opened up to tender. MAYBE Macron, adidas and Castore put in. MAYBE Macron and Castore both offered an upfront payment - basically a guarantee of 400k, rather than an extra payment. MAYBE Suhail went to adidas and asked them to match it, MAYBE they said they don’t offer guarantees to anyone, not even Man Utd or Real Madrid - they just sell lots of kits.

MAYBE Suhail then went back and told Macron they were going with Castore - MAYBE Macron said they wanted to keep Rovers and offered to match Castore. MAYBE Suhail’s response was “No you should’ve offered us more in the first place. We are going with Castore.”

MAYBE Adidas were not getting good vibes since Waggott left, but MAYBE Suhail then reapproached adidas asking for a half million upfront payment to “buy out macron” - effectively pay them off cos they will sue. MAYBE Adidas reiterated their stance of no upfront payments - MAYBE Suhail said “Well Castore are willing to pay the legal fees”.

So MAYBE Macron are seeking compensation for 2 separate breeches of contract.

Castore have bought out Umbro and need clubs for their second brand. MAYBE we’ve agreed to being Umbro with off the peg kits slightly Roverized.

Maybe Castore aren't willing to pay our legal fees if we're representing ourself.

Good effort to manage to get ourselves sued on not just one but two counts.

Top work. Outstanding.

Imagine if they'd pulled all the stops out to get get a 150th Anniversary Spzl jersey.

"Ooh but it would have been expensive and contracts and ooh difficult"

We have no ambition in any area to achieve anything other than cheap and bang average. Some of the Macron kits have been good, but unique business opportunities (like a local connection to one of the most iconic football fashion brands) and 150th anniversaries don't come round very often.

The club shop would have sold out in hours, people would have travelled from around Europe and queued up for hours to buy one. Everyone would have been talking about it, everyone would have been jealous that we got it before any other club. Probably would have looked great too.

Instead we've got a kit with Blackburn train station and Darwen Tower all over it and a one-off Preston kit.

It's not quite Colin show us your arse but there should be a rendition of "Macron, Macron sue the cunts, Macron, sue the cunts" from the Blackburn End tomorrow

No doubt when someone finally gets hold of the stooges and can ask them a question about this Macron debacle (next fans forum meeting, whenever that might be) we will get a cagey answer and then they'll hide behind 'legal reasons'.

Eventually they will paint it as the club wanting to explore alternatives, get a better deal elsewhere for the club and fans, get a better range/design and try and sell more gear.

But we know that isn't the ambition here. We are in a race to the bottom.

Example - I wanted to buy a winter trench coat for the cold weather. None to be had in the shop. We aren't doing them. Nor rain coats. Infact aside from the kits themselves all we are selling of Macrons is a tracksuit bottoms/top and shirt.

An extremely limited range. Even Ismael and the coaching staff are wearing coats from previous seasons.

So I suspect we are already at the bottom end of what Macron are supplying and have no intention of obtaining a better or more comprehensive range or supplier.

Cheap and basic will be the way of it. Some catalogue generic rubbish from Nike or Umbro with no thought going into it.

If anyone wants to get ahead of the curve and be the first to get next seasons kits, albeit unbadged, fill your boots.

They are down to £7.50 on the Umbro site.

Starting to think the wrong decisions are being made deliberately.

Let's be honest, you could put a bunch of dingles in charge and they'd struggle to do as bad a job. In fact they probably wouldn't have the brass neck to do some of the things this lot have done.

Stadium is looking shabby - shall we repair it? "Nah"

Shall we get rid of Sky in the Supporters Bar? "Yeah go on, but only tell them after we've sold memberships"

What about adidas next season for the kits? The fans would love that! "No, the fans would love that."

The pitch is liable to flood if we don't do something. Shall we? "No, can't be arsed".

Add your own.

Umbro currently don’t advertise a shirt with halves.

Pasha will be telling the next FF that Umbro are providing Rovers with a bespoke home shirt…

Corporate clowns running things just want cheap generic sale or return crap they can get the highest mark up on.

Clownshow clowns like here can't even get that right.

End of the day non of the above types understand football or terrace culture or local historic culture. Like politicians they are totally detached and members of their own back slapping clubs linked by agents instead of swiss forums.

All they look at is % mark ups, ease of control and what's in it for themselves the plebs are just seen as assets to be fleeced.

@glen9mullan Ask Balaji a very simple question: Isn't all this continuous negative mainstream coverage and hatred towards your brand severely damaging your global corporate reputation?

The answer would simply be 'no' because they aren't a brand in the United Kingdom.
