Mitrovic's wages means its a none starter.

Wagner is investing millions and millions in the city of Birmingham and its different sporting clubs plus he has increased the commercial revenue of the club. They are expecting £50 millions this season in revenue. They have commercial deals with Delta Airlines, Vertu Motors and Coral have all joined Nike and Undefeated

We were playing in the division higher than Brum last season, why are we not bringing in sponsorship revenue on this scale?

You have a wage budget and we have one space for a right winger signing other than that, we have 2 or more players for each position. Pears isn't even warming up pre game as 3rd choice if case Michalski or Toth got injury. Can you afford to have here post transfer window if that the case. So you need one to leave in order to bring one in. Budget, but also to allow someone like Buckley to play regular and have a career

This reads very much as the venky party like being towed

Delta, Virtu, Nike, Coral

sounds like an ambitious commercial department

meanwhile our lot go to one naff Lancashire networking brunch and get a main shirt sponsor from down the road and can’t bring in anything with reach outside of a 25 mile radius of the club (macron as the exception by necessity)

If they'd actually made some effort and made us a well known name in India as they claimed was the plan we'd at least have a bit more income from over there.

Didn't want to spend any of their personal money though did they once the Venky Xpress UK plans went tits up.

Birmingham and Wrexham have exploited their owners' connections abroad particularly in the USA and signed highly lucrative international sponsorship deals despite only being able to offer League One/Two football up until this year.

Ambition. Thinking big. Not accepting your lot in life with a shrug of the shoulders.

Contrast to this rotten regime, refusing to look beyond Darwen for sponsors or fans, not having a commercial director. 'We're a local small town club' bizarrely used as some sort of badge of honour yet hamstringing the club financially.

These owners have done NOTHING in 15 years to secure the club advantageous sponsorship. Other than their own 'sponsorship' - forced to do it as a way of legitimately getting more money into the club (stickers on the shirts and filthy boards across the Riverside) there hasn't been a single sponsorship of any size or duration with Indian companies/firms. Zero effort or interest.

It's another one of those strange situations.

A strange circumstance that doesn't tally up with having wealthy owners.

An ownership of this wealth, who apparently wanted to make 'Blackburn India's premier club',  has done zilch in 15 years to bring Indian brands on board for sponsorship. Why not?

They surely have plenty of contacts over there. Some might say they don't have a clue what they are doing football wise. No disputing that...but this is very odd.

In 15 years I can't think of one positive thing that has happened at the club.

Almost as though they want to keep their ownership of the club quite low key for whatever reason.....

I think he only won 4 last season and 0 this?

He could be the best manager in the world, but being given the dross we gave signed, he has no chance of success.

His fault for accepting the gig, but his stock will be so low, after his time here, comes to and end, it will be his last managerial appointment and I have no sympathy. Statements like we have an exciting summer ahead, just makes me angry with him, for leading the fans on.

By the way, we are now fourth favourites to go down, behind Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford and QPR and I think Thats generous, as we won’t finish above two of those.

Given that Tom Wagner is co-founder and co-CEO of Knighthead Capital Management, he will have access and knowledge of a different range of people. I believe Knighthead Capital Management is worth around £7bn

We really are hard up if we cant or wont sign players until we allow 3 players, none of them involved in first team squads, and none of whom will be on much, to be bundled out of the door.

But still part of the wage bill and we are still paying the, pleased you aren't working in my finance department

Macron headquarters/distribution are based out of North Manchester, so they’ve not even gone far for that one

We may indeed have 2 players for every position, however that argument is nonsensical if they’re substandard. Across the squad the back up option is questionable or untried at this level. Christ if we’re honest half the first choices aren’t up to it.

I don’t think anyone is advocating stock piling players, however what they are saying is bringing in quality that can have an impact now. Every player we’ve signed is less equipped to perform than their predecessor, I’m hesitant to say downgrade as it’s early days but the signs are there for all to see.

Appreciate that but the way your post was phrased implied that Rovers have been stock piling players....and they definitely haven't been. 🙂

Also you need to created chances for your strikers and that is an area of concern but you overall this in your comment. We could have Shearer and Newell but with good service into the box for them to score goals it would be pointless having there there.

That’s a naive thing to say.

Those two would score goals in any team Chaddy.  They created plenty of their own chances like err….. good strikers do.  Would you have made Ripley a priority signing over Shearer?

Agreed.

Although at a much lower standard, look at the goals Jordan Rhodes scored in the 12-13 season with the utter dross he had around him that year.

I was told that I was just making excuses by suggesting that better strikers create chances for themselves.

We have a very nice mix of a lack of quality both up front and behind/around it. We dont score many and we dont have many chances.

Then you need to sell or loan players our in order to bring players in.

Some signings will work out and some won't just like every season in football

If we keep signing players without getting rid of them then we would have too many players in the building.

Service and chances created is more important and would Shearer have scored all those great goals for us without players like Ripley, Wilson and Le Saux.

That's why need to created more chances whether from set pieces or open play. Plus get 3 or 4 players in the box when crosses are coming in. Not just Ohashi on his own.
