Chaddy, the Belgian lad we signed is equivalent to us signing a lower league 2  player.  He may be quick.  He will certainly have flaws.  He will most certainly be peanuts to buy and on a small wage.

If we were getting £6m or £7m for Travis then you might be able to make out a viable case for selling him. (That's assuming the funds were being reinvested in his replacement).

At up to £3m however there's no way you're going to be able to replace him with anything like the same experience and quality. He's the heartbeat of the side as we saw this last season.  As soon as he got injured results fell off a cliff and it was effectively season over.

All selling him at this stage does, scrapes together a bit of beer money to pay one or two bills and rips the heart and soul out of the team.

 

Problem is he can walk for free next summer.

No way Waggott was sanctioning a deal for O Neil imo.

All indications at the time were that talks with him never got off the ground and were over as soon as they started.

We got a fee for Eustace and were on a bad skid, so they probably didn’t mind him going at all.

I don't even know what to say to this other than think again because it's fantasy stuff.

Players are only worth what someone will pay and you might get a million for the pair but i'd suggest they'd need to follow Markandays path and be loaned lower league, hopefully do well and someone would chuck a few hundred grand down to keep them.

If they were put up for sale tomorrow nobody would be bidding.

In this day and age I truly wouldn’t be surprised, I could easily see a team offer close to if not 1mill for either

Well we never know big Val might get a tune out of JRC if he can keep himself fit we might see shades of the JDT player again and that would be useful.

From what league would you expect teams to be willing to bid for him?

If its League 1, then they wont offer that sort of money. And I cant see Championship clubs being willing to pay that much for players either.

No idea I’m just going by their profile alone in stating I wouldn’t be surprised if a club whether it’s champ league one or abroad could offer close to 1mill

weve just bought a relative nobody for close to that amount at the same age

He'd need to have an unbelievable pre season fitness wise because last season the lad just couldn't move, his legs had gone. I don't know if it's injuries catching up to him or whatever but I watched him walk through games almost. 

 

Shame because he has some leadership qualities and is a really strong lad, he bullies people in most duels. At his peak, a really useful player for us. Thing is, the game requires so much more from players now and last season it looked like he was running in treacle. 

 

I hope he comes back as the old JRC but I doubt it.

Yes sadly i think Championship level on a consistent basis has always been beyond him and he just had a little purple patch.

He was never the most mobile anyway imo but he was a grafter and his engine was ok but that seems to have seized up. I like him but lads like him shouldn't be difficult to replace at this level for not much money and that is how you improve a squad by trading the JRC's and keep your best players.

I look fwd to the million quid we'll get for him going on something a bit fresher......

I think the club sees this summer as a chance to reduce costs and renew the squad. Players like JRC and Buckley, whilst both being technically very good IMO, just don’t have the physicality to provide what Val is after. He appears to want hard-running players to go along with high-tempo style and it’s already been stated they are after a box-to-box midfielder. 
 

Buckley couldn’t be further away from that profile but he’s still a fantastic passer of the ball when he’s on his game. But it’s probably time he moved on. I don’t think Val wants someone shuffling around the centre circle at 4mph!

JRC looked really good in CM under JDT, and was making really good runs into the box. He could fit the Box-to-box role easily, cos he’s no slouch when he’s fit and he’s a nasty fucker when he wants to be, as well as being a really intelligent player….but sadly he’s  just  of glass. If he could stay fit he could be a real asset again. 
 

They are both Championship level and should get a club. Not sure how much they’re worth though as I’m guessing they’ve only got a couple of years at most left on their contracts.

I'm fairly sure those clips are sped up a bit, some of them don't look quite right. So I wouldn't read too much into the tempo.
