I'm confused. How do we know he's injured as mentioned on here several times?

To be fair we don't as nothing official has come out.

There's one really well connected twitter poster who said it, Nixon also reported it.

Elliot said he had heard the same but couldn't do a piece on it as he wasn't 100%.

Topi Keskinen from Aberdeen is one on VI and RG radar - they are waiting on Aberdeen's fate in the UEL/UECL before pursuing but see him as an ideal replacement for TD. had a really good euros with Finland but the figure being thrown around is £1M - wages will be smaller or very similar to TD's.

Winger from Aberdeen, we've seen it before with Hedges.. hopefully a bit more due diligence done this time around should it cross the line.

Quite often there are clauses in older players contracts such as a number of games which automatically trigger another one. It appears nothing of the kind offered to Batth and Weimann.

Where that plan falls down is it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to hold on to young players. That is before they’ve made more than a couple of appearances.

A year too late. He was available last summer for under £1m. Good first season in Scotland and in the Euros. Even their chairman has said he's not for sale. They can see him increasing in value the upcoming season.

It isn't an exact science but he is not on any of the pictures from yesterday's training. I can just make out a small group in the background of a couple of shots. Purely a guess but if he has missed the bulk of per season so far he could be doing individual sessions to get him up to speed.

So he was bought for 1million by Aberdeen has 3 more years left on the contract is 22 and performed reasonably well and you think they are going to sell for 1million? Not happening

Baath is a very good defender and a big loss - really disappointed to see him go. And Derby only gave him a one -year deal too - which says it all about the cretins at Ewood.

Aye... He was our stand out defender last season, you can't argue that he wasn't and the fact he is closing retirement age says enough... Hyam can be a solid defender in his day but completely lacks leadership hence why they had Batth next to him and prior to that McFadz, I said back when they gave Hyam the captain's armband it was a ridiculous decision, was glad to see them pass it over to Trav. 

That is the thing with our current team, our number in leaders is dwindling and with the way this window is going we're set to have no one with a bit of bollocks who can fill that role.

The LT doesn't have the budget to do that and there is very little money around local journalism and in fact even big news companies have cut their numbers of reports.

I'm so pleased we can add the loss of Batth to the many, many other cases of players walking away from Rovers for reasons unrelated to how poorly the club is run and absolutely aren't a trend.

It's on record the reason Weimann and Batth  signed last summer was because they accepted lower than average wages because they both had a point to prove. Blackburn Rovers were shopping in the bargain basement then and are doing exactly the same this summer. Weimann and Batth both proved there worth to Eustace and have followed him to Derby due to better wages and the club having more ambition than ours. If you want to keep repeating the "we are clearly not skint" line then why did BRFC not offer them both 1 year deals on sensible/competitive wages ?

I agree we need someone on the right...not sure about CM though...we currently still have Travis, Tronstad, Sidnei, Buckley, JRC, Forshaw all available to play there. Granted not much quality in reserve beyond the two starters, but I think we have more pressing issues like a replacement for Batth and a striker.

Obviously if some of those midfielders leave then that changes the landscape for me.

People are delusional if they think we have money to spend this transfer window unless we sell. Only reason we got De Neve and Tavares is because we've offloaded a lot of wages from the books (Dolan, Batth, Weimann, Dennis, Woodrow, Beck, ACD, Sanderson). Pre-contract agreements with Batth and Weimann must have been done several weeks ago as they immediately signed contracts at Derby as free agents at the earliest possible date (July 1st).

Club can't compete with Oxford for signing holding midfielder De Keersmaecker (according to reports) and chose to resign Forshaw only a couple of weeks after releasing him? Wouldn't therefore surprise me one bit if they're expecting bids for a holding midfielder (Travis) and that they consider him as 'gone' already. Dolan will leave because of the club mismanaging his contract (salary) for several years and failing to protect his valuation. 

The club is so poor at protecting the value of its players and holding onto key players (Batth) that there's genuine fear from my side as to what will happen next season concerning contract expirations for Travis, Tronstad and Brittain. By the looks of it, we're in for a real mess.
