It really isn't necessary to keep on making your point over and over again. You're dominating this thread but not illuminating it.

It’s about as necessary as you responding to this when it doesn’t involve you really . But here we areΒ

Tyjon starts in that 10 position for me.

Looks like he has the lot, quick, good on the half turn, can kick a stationary ball, good vision.

Even Tyjon says he isn't quick.

Our net spend is in the green by my calculations, or at least breaking even. Obviously we don't know the undisclosed fee's but you can make a guesstimation.Β

Sales:

JRC: 750-1m

Kid to Chelsea- 1m

Dolan- 270k

Sales = 2.27m

Β

Buys:

De Neve: 300k (maybe less)

Mcgloughlin 500k

Alebiousu 500k (maybe less)

Tavares Probably 750k (2 million is absolute bullshit)

Β

Between 2 & 2.25m

Β

Give or take the sales and buys tally and correlate to a spend what you bring in plan.Β

Β

So in my opinion, we've spent absolutely fuck all so far, depends on how gullible you are about the Tavares fee.Β

Β

And let's not forget, there are still players likely or who could possibly leave, Buckley, Brittain, Trav, Tronstad.Β

Β

I guarantee, we'll be in the green by the end of the transfer window.Β

C’mon guys. We all want to see positive signings but the falling out on here is akin to playgrounds!Β

They started it. You’re such an Ashley Phillips

Im guessing by "can kick a stationary ball" you are having a go at Cantwell's set pieces, which isnt a strong suit of his. But what makes you think Tyjon can take one?

Tyjon has had some bright cameos in pre season and has some promise, butΒ its important not to base too much on performances in pre season. But if you are to, Cantwell has been our best player.

I'll counter that and ask what Cantwell brings? What's he good at?Β

Doesn't score, doesn't assist, slow, struggles to cross, can't hit a dead ball.

All whilst being out alleged top earner.

This is a fair assessment. I don’t think you’re far wrong.

The one which is causing the most discussion is probably the CF. Personally, I saw enough from Yuki and Big Mak last season to believe one or both of them could get 15+ goals this season. Seems VI has a similar opinion. So, who will back them up? Listening to the manager and RG, it seems they aren’t targeting one, which means they’ve seen enough from one of Tyjon or Leonard to give it a run. My guess would be that they’re banking on the former rather than the latter and I can see Leonard getting out on loan. For me, you’ve gotta trust the manager, the guy who’s watching them everyday and if he believes they have enough, then we crack on!

It sounds like they really fancy Montgomery as the 4th / 5th cm behind Trav, Tron and Tavares.

In rank of need, I’d say RW, CB (Cheap foreign), and Baradji will be our lot, assuming no one leaves.

If / when someone leaves, we WONT reinvest the money (as per RG’s comments early in the summer). So I’d expect us to bring loans in to cover those sales. Maybe a freebie or two.

There is a chance that its not just a case of the manager saying he is happy with those 2. There is also a chance that the budget wont stretch that far and other positions have taken priority. We definitely did want one:

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25055914.gestede-reveals-five-blackburn-summer-transfer-priorities/

"We want some power up front to challenge the two strikers we have, we will do some business."

I dont see what you have seen from Gueye to suggest that he could score that number of goals, maybe Ohashi. The problem is though as we found last season, when Ohashi isnt playing we cant continue to play the same way as a team when Gueye plays as he is totally different.

My point was that you are just making things up that Tyjon can do based on no evidence just as a slight on Cantwell.

He is a creative player, he can make things happen in the final third and he can assist. He had a disappointing season and never seemed to catch up fitness wise but he still got 7 assists. He had shown in the past that he can contribute with goals at previous clubs without ever being prolific. Hes a good techncial player and clearly better than he showed last season.

Although with Gueye it really depends how long he spends in form. He has shown that when in form he can be a menace for defences and score goals. He just wasn't in form enough last season. If he can sustain it, and part of that is motivation from the coaches and himself, you can't rule it out.

It isn't something I would necessarily bank on though. But I'm hoping if he plays enough he will manage double figures this season.

He’s not. We were discussing this the other day and I said Tyjon reminded me of Paul Gallagher. A neat and tidy footballer with a good eye for goal and excellent football intelligence let down by his lack of real pace,

Has the kid gone to Chelsea though? I heard all the strong rumours, and then suddenly it went silent. If he has fair enough but last I heard it wasn't sealed.

Dolan, there is disagreement on whether we do get anything for that, Wilsden showed the FIFA ruling that suggests we won't get anything.

Β

Edit - just looked up the wonderkid to Chelsea, the Sun did an article on 30th June saying it was done, and the fee was 700k not 1 mill. But they also said it hadn't been formally announced (and that academy signings rarely are). Still not sure how we got that fee for him, with the previous record being 175k and as far as I knew you don't have to pay those fees for 13 year olds you can just take them with minor training compo.

To repeat what I wrote a couple of years ago. I would rather that we didn’t make many more signings which can block our talents from playing time.Β
Β

we need some additions, but fill up the squad with loanees such as Morton, ACD and Hirst instead of playing our own players is in my opinion the wrong decision.Β
Β

especially when it comes to young Tyjon I think it is instrumental that we show him a pathway to a lot of gametime. This will be important for him to sign a new contract

Yes, I think you are right. Even at 17 or 18, these lads already know what they are about, and want to play football at the highest level possible. A sensible approach is to use them tactically, later on in games where we either need to change things up or are so far in front that to do so poses no threat to the result. I'm sure VI has an eye for a player, and will use his influence to ensure the young bloods are available at the appropriate time and in a way that benefits, not hinders, his plans.

But equally, you dont want to be too reliant on them to the point where a couple of injuries in certain positions and they are all needed together.

We dont know how ready they are in terms of a footballing perspective of being able to play Championship football but moreso how they could cope physically if needed to play consecutive games.

Also, if we bank on more than a couple coming through at once, its unrealistic. They wont all be ready at the same time.

This is the same player you wanted to offer Β£15K P/W to, and saw him as an integral player in our team.Β  What's changed?

He's left so it's no biggie now of course.

He's probably exactly as good as he showed last season.

I.e. not very.
