Next week should be busy. Just 3 more and I think we can compete.

I dont think we'll see any movement on incomings before the last week of the window.

Why? We have been told by Gestede that none of the transfer fees received will be added to the budget for recruitment.Β

I'd feel more confident of not being relegated with a bit of experience in the team in tronstad rather than having a central midfield with no championship experience.

If the situation is the same as Gestede said that incoming transfer fees don't effect the budget then replacements for whoever we sell will have to come out of the budget set by the owners at the beginning of the summer

Not a hope in hell we would be able to replace Travis; Tronstad and Brittain with anything close to similar quality without using their fees.

While the outgoing fees may not be made available by the owners the sales do affect the clubs financials and FFP, no? Β So regardless of if the money is made available the sale allows for the ability to fund the club further. I took Gestedes comments to mean the player sales affect FFP but don’t directly lead to those funds being available. We know the funds won’t be reinvested but we’re run at a Β£20 million loss per annum and need those sales to even maintain β€œnormal” operations. Point is the strategy of letting players run down their contracts and walk is crazy (also on par for our owners). No real club with ambition would operate this way.Β

Gestede said more than once that incoming fees will not be added to the budget that was set.Β

We are fine with ffp...we spend penny's on incoming transfers and the playing squad wages have been cut way down from what they were previously.Β

So going off your logic we should sell Hyam, Brittain, Tronstad and Travis this summer as they all have one year left.

Do you think we would still be a championship club going into 26/27 if we do this?

I am as critical as most about the running of the club.

But the conspiracy theory that you are proposing makes no sense.

Why would they agree a fee and fly a player over only to essentially fabricate an injury? And for no one on the player or selling clubs side to seemingly contest it?Β Β

I believe the reports that an issue was brought up with the medical. No reason to doubt it. Dont have a clue what that could have been exactly from a medical standpoint, but I dont think its as straightforward as well hes played 3 weeks later, it must be fake. Maybe hes playing with some sort of painkilling treatment, maybe the issue is a high risk of recurring injury.

And where did you get 6 weeks from?

If the club went to those lengths, it also makes no sense to then claim they don't care what the fans think.Β

Bobby Bell!

Came from Ipswich as part of the Allan Hunter deal and was then transferred to Crystal PalaceΒ  after just 2 or 3 games for Rovers.Β

We made a good profit on him and he hardly played for Palace and drifted out of the game.

Are we in for this geezer?

He's somebody who would improve the first 11, so no, we're not.

'Gilly' was a strange one.Β  Think he had a 1 in 2 record for Huddersfield but seemed to struggle with his back but strangely, went on to play over 200 league games when he left Rovers!Β  Read somewhere he's now one of football's dementia sufferers which is no surprise given he was an 'old fashioned' centre forward.

West Ham certainly sold us a pup in Britt - think it was a training injury after a coming together with Bobby Moore.Β  When we signed him, remember my dad saying to me during his first match 'we've signed a dud here' - to the experienced eye, it was clear he couldn't jump off his injured leg which was a bit limiting for a centre forward!

Gilliver had a disc problem. He ended up seeing Frank Plumb, the chiropractor that I saw about my back years later. He advised him to have a disc fusion, which I think he did. He couldn’t bend his back very well after that but he could play. It’s no fun turning out with a disc problem.

Martin Britt had been a star striker at West Ham, he scored 4 goals in the FA youth Cup final whilst being marked by no other than Liverpools Tommy Smith. However he’d got a bad knee injury before we signed him. Allegedly we’d tried to sign Colin Bell from Bury but he decided to go to City. So we went for Britt. Β He retired from the game after his time with us. He must have been about 21. Very sad. I saw an old photo of him looking really lonely on his own walking with a stick in Blackburn town centre.

given that there is 5 weeks of the window and we want another 2/3 signings from Ismael has said to Jackson before they left Spain. I think we will bring one more signing in before the WBA game.Β

we need to sort thisΒ Moussa Baradji deal and whether we are going to sign him or not

Bring in a centre backΒ

attacking right sided midfielderΒ

going to be one new signing and a couple of loans,i think thats about it,it`s clear they are banking on tyjon and montgomery to be "new" players, overall the squad will be threadbare by christmas and the usual january **** up won`t improve it,im`e not expecting us to be anywhere near the top six and if travis and brittain go,we`ll be nearer the bottomΒ

provided we don't eff up from aug to jan. then it's gonna be relegation scrap

I don't see Charlton being anymore than bottom 6/relegation candidate. They have signed a few championship experience players granted but no world beatersΒ

They have done more than we have then!!!

Our only signing with Championship experience is a bang average McLaughin and certainly none of our signings are world beaters!

With Brittain about to leave (and Travis to follow) and the paucity of our recruitment, it will be Rovers fighting relegation.

Was it a striker that you wanted instead of a central midfielder? And do you fear that we will be left short in attack assuming we dont get one, based on those comments.

If your proposed scenario happens then that would be very, very disappointing. We didnt score enough goals last season, and its certainly not just me that felt that our attack was in most need of work. Ismael has referenced what we need to do in the final third numerous times, Gestede also touched on it. And we have also lost Dolan and Weimann.

IF we only brought in a right winger and De Neve, who seems a grafter but has played much of his football as a left back and doesnt appear to be a difference maker. That would not come close to sufficing in my opinion.

We have a solid base of a team without enough to really worry teams in the final third.

We have plenty of championship experience in this squadΒ

Who says Brittain is about to leave? no bids for the last 2 weeks?Β

Yes you said the same last season about chances yet you still don't learned from your mistakesΒ

@MarkBRFCΒ has made a really important point a few times. Have we really improved our starting 11 this summer? And are we likely to? Seems unlikely at this stage.

Dont get me wrong, lack of depth has been a consistent issue that has caused us problems. We did need another player to (hopefully) really push and provide good competition in midfield. We did need cover at right back. And we did need a left footed centre back to add to the squad. But if we are only signing 2 or 3 more, that doesnt fill me with any confidence that we will have the required depth either.

Didn't Eamonn Rogers (sp) also have a career ender shortly after joining us.Β  Never saw him olay but heard he was good.Β  Have we somehow gotten away from the transfer thread.Β  Bet there's a few of us tearry eyed with some of those memories.Β  I truly loved Blackburn Rovers.Β  Might still, dunno, easier from afar perhaps.Β  Never.missed home games and only a few away but now if I was still present I can't say I would still go.

Haven't we already discussed this yesterday about these issues? You have seen Ismael's comments and what Jackson has reported. Its appears 2/3 more and in those positions reported by Jackson and Nicko.Β

Maybe Ismael wants Leonard as his third choice or equally after the first couple they changed their mind and sign another striker. Or Maybe the player they wanted for the attacking right side can play up front. We will sign in 5 weeks time RF99

Yeah my thoughts as well would be that it might have been thought Travis and Tronstad were leaving at one point.

Wrexham are now allegedly interested in one of the guys the guy we were interested in ( whose name escapes me) for Β£4m and ( Tin hat on) there never seems to be much interest in Tronstad so we might be safe for a bit.

It is pretty obvious is it not?Β  Other teams scouts scour this board and have picked up on "Rev's Reviews" and are therefore not interested.Β  Actually it is a good question, Cantwell either having no interest from anyone and I expected Eustace to be all over him. I thought that mostly cos of Cantwell's comments prior to joining us.Β  All cos of Eustace he was making out.

I was merely asking your opinion. Not what you think Ismael thinks, Gestede thinks or plans, Jackson thinks or what "Nicko" thinks we will do. Do you agree that we need at least 2 more? And would you be disappointed if we didnt?

I think I am pretty sure that Ismael wouldnt "want" a striker who has spent 2 years injured and hardly set the league on fire before that as any choice any time soon. Just as he probably doesnt imminently plan on bringing an academy player through that hasnt even been in the first team extended squad in pre season, which was another of your pre-empted attempts to justify that you seemingly dont expect more than one more attacking player being brought in.

It doesn’t matter what the reporters are saying. Doesn’t matter what Ismael is saying. It’s another cry out like his predecessors before him that falls on death ears above him. Been a long time since the club has produced what the manager wants in the market overall. The reason why a few have walked before him.Β
