Derby have signed Rhian Brewster. He cost Sheff Utd like ยฃ25m a few years back but has a really poor goal scoring record overall.ย

Hope he flops

Signing Kieffer Moore for ยฃ2m as well.

Paying way over the top to try build a squad with championship experience. Same as any promotion you have to spend to try compete with teams that already have that amongst their ranks. Hardest part for them is sides know they have money and every player linked goes up a fair bit in price. Donโ€™t get me wrong they are some good players that have signed, but are they better than what we already haveย

Wrexham apparently paying 7.5 mill for Nathan Broadhead ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Obviously overpriced but a very good signing at this level. Ipswich were reluctant to go and thats with some brilliant other wingers at their club.

You compare purely on quality to what we are bringing in, they are getting a proven top end Championship player.

Tronstad will stay 29 years old...won't command a big fee better keep and he may sign a new deal. U

Donโ€™t think he can stay the same age foreverย

Main issue Wrexham may find is actually bedding everyone in.ย  Might take them a few months to get them firing.ย  Their squad from last season isn't too dissimilar from the one that Rovers smashed in the cup a couple of years back, obviously they have/are signing quality players, with experience, but it seems a but late in the window for them to mount a real charge at the top end of the tableย

Think they will end up in the top 8 or 10

I also think they might struggle more than people think. Despite scrambling now to get some decent experienced Championship players, their squad is made up of unproven League One/Two players with some old heads that's well passed it. What got them here is not good enough for the next step.ย

They will also find much harder if they continue with their route one style as Championship teams are much better in possession and will tire them out.

Birmingham in contrast are in much better shape. They built a good Championship in League One with signings far above that level. They cruised the league and was seemingly untouchable. The core of their squad is good enough and if they maintain the promotion high they might do an Ipswich.ย

If Wrexham think over paying on players is going to get them results then they'll soon realise it takes a lot more to climb up the championship.ย

I've spoke about this before, I've a close Wrexham friend who laughs when people think they'll finish top 10 this season. They'll be milling around the bottom.ย

I'm worried about us losing Brittain's crosses, giving Gueye in particular no supply, but perhaps Miller's long throws will compensate.

Kieffer Moore is a pretty handy player at this level.

Need to sign a winger who can cross - wouldn't have said no to a Sorba Thomas return tbf but he's gone Stoke.

Lewis Miller is a RB / CB cover, 2 for 1.

Itll be Baradji and a winger and then weโ€™ll be done. Is my bet.

Better be a bloody fantastic winger.

How will he sign a new deal if he isn't offered one?

Almost feel sorry for Brewster. Touted as the next big thing as a kid in Liverpool, had a serious injury where he probably lost some pace. He then came back with a good loan spell for Swansea. Surprisingly for Liverpool fans, Klopp decided to cash in and he moved to Sheffield United to become their main man for staying up in the Premier League. Flopped completely and has never established or performed their despite staying 4 years. 9 goals in 119 games is an awful return.ย

From being a central striker, he now seems to be deployed in different forward positions. Has looked a broken man at times and move to Derby might to him good without the baggage carried by his big move to Sheff Utd. Probably his last chance to get any sort of decent career.

Almost felt sorry for him, but then you remembered he's a massive knob.

Not for the rumored ยฃ70k p.w.ย

ยฃ2m and 70k a week for a 33 year old defender who's clearly winding down now that he's got a gig on 5Live as well. I'd say its a terrible piece of business.

Good luck to them, at least they have the money to chuck around....just not sure that Coady is a particularly sensible signing if those numbers are correct.

I thought that the comments about Millers long throw were a joke about Windy Miller I didnโ€™t realise it was a real thingย

(I recall fantasy football league doing a Phoenix from the flames skit about it years ago)ย

You aren't paying attention to the new club policy here.

Best he'll be offered in another year on the same terms or maybe two years at a push but on less and he'll already be aware of this given whats happened.
