Maybe I'm out of touch with current prices but... I think the cynic in you is spot on. The prices quoted in media are all hyper inflated imo. Suits the agenda, and then Gestede can do an interview at the end of the window with Pasha and say they've spent £20m. 1 Quote

Also the figures quoted in the media tend to be if and when every single additional add on has been achieved (promotion, international caps, 50+ league appearances etc). Bigger numbers sound more sensational and exciting so get more click/sell more papers etc The initial fee will likely be at most, 60% of any quoted fee, and that will be split over 3 years Edited August 5 by KentExile 3 Quote

Why would owners who don’t give a fuck about the club set a perceived false agenda? To safe face? Give me a break. Quote

Surely he would be competion for Cantwell. We are light there. Im not convinced he will play on the right, and hope thats not a plan instead of signing a player who naturally plays in that position. But we will see. Mind you, until we do sign a right sided player. I would prefer to try him there over Hedges, but just bring Kargbo in on the left. Quote

They think they are gods and expect to be thanked and revered as such. Their underlings want the status quo to continue as it keeps them in cushy and lucrative employment. The best way for them to ensure that their gravy train ride continues is to keep the owners under the impression that all is well and everyone is happy, and the best way of conning the fanbase into believing that is by making out as though the owners are backing the club, investing, wanting it to do better. No evidence for any of it, as they couldn't really care less about what happens at the club, but costs nothing for the stooges to drip exaggerated figures to people like Nixon and Jackson, and in return they get the deluded fans lapping it up, maybe even buying tickets off the back of it to help with their annual figures. 1 Quote

Honestly I’ve never read such a paranoid load of waffle, if you’d left it at the first sentence it would’ve made sense. They just employ people poor at their jobs ffs, and there isn’t a fan in Blackburn who would give a fuck about a player being 1m or 2m in cost. We give a fuck about how good they are. Nobody ever cared that Nzonzi was less then a million, or the fees we paid for the likes of Nelsen, Samba etc - they where revered because they played well. 3 1 Quote

I’d tend to agree with that the only issue is the figures that are being quoted are coming from the other clubs journalists and reporters not just Nixon/elliot 2 Quote

TruRover Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Henriksson will be Cantwell competition. Expecting Baradj to get done eventually. Just seems like they want him badly. From there a RW and a CB and we’ll be set. Wouldn’t surprise me if the CB was a prem loan. 1 Quote

KentExile Posted August 5 Posted August 5 If, after 2 days of waiting , we don't get an Axel F (Henriksson) Crazy Frog related reveal, I will be disappointed 1 Quote
Popular Post ageoftherover Posted August 5 Popular Post Posted August 5 Australian fan here. Very happy we've signed Miller. He's been one of our better players internationally recently. Australia play 5 at the back and he's regularly played as the right wide/wing back, so he's no stranger to getting up the pitch. It looks like he was used differently at Hibs, but he's probably a bit more versatile than he's been given credit for. 28 Quote
AspRover Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Honestly if we tie up this last couple of deals and then it's premier league loans for the remaining spaces so be it - wouldn't be my first choice but it does at least look like we are going to meet the bare minimum standard of starting the season with a moderately balanced squad with players in every position and I really did not think we'd achieve that at the end of last season. Whether the players we have brought in are up to it remains to be seen. 4 Quote

Vile song, that frog was annoying as hell! Plus the original song is great and would serve the same purpose. 4 Quote
