I noticed he was in there, but Tuffys job change happened over a month ago, so Lowe is still like Schrodinger's first team coach in my eyes

Unless Lowe is taking them to a tribunal (purely speculation by me) for unfair dismissal. Not knowing the circumstances and the confusion caused by Shaikhey it's left open to speculation.

Maybe Lowe is leaving in due course, but is actually working some sort of notice period in the meantimeΒ  as opposed to being paid up immediately or being on gardening leave?

Would seem an insane way to go about it but hey ho - this is Venky's.

Needs clarifying either way.

My guess, VI has been over ruled.

I wouldn't be surprised if VI wasn't too impressed with the hair transplant gone wrong as a reason to miss a proper preseason, and the relationship may have deteriorated from there. Just a guess of course.

Is that hair transplant rumour actually fact or an old wives tale that's gained a bit of traction because Nixon said "a Championship player" had had one thats gone wrong?

Hasn't he had a cap on in all pics?

His official club photo is him with a cap?

The lad had a baseball cap on all preseason. I'm convinced enough to consider it fact at this point.

Unless he shaved it all off and looks like one of the coneheads?

Cheeky barstewards! 4m minimum.

There should be an extra 5% added on to every fee for every player that played for us last season as well. What is the record for the number of players moving from one team to another in one transfer window because they're surely close at this point?Β

6th August they updated the website to add the new performance guy. Lowe has remained on there since the end of season - never taken off and re-added.

No doubt the bloke responsible for the website was hitting save instead of send or publishΒ

I imagine the deal will happen, it'll just be us haggling like we did for others who've recently left.

Edit - I also don't think the club will let him leave until we've got a signing or 2 ready to be announced.

They’ll nudge it up to Β£2m-Β£2.5m and he’ll be gone. Our captain who loves the club and would be renewing under any half decent set-up.

What on earth is there to get behind under this ownership? Nigh on 15 years has pretty much defeated me.

I cant see us going for less than 3.5M unless Travis downs tools and forces hands which I doubt he will do.

From his perspective waiting out a year and getting a big sign on bonus like so many others will incentivise him to not rock the boat.

I think that might be hairsay.Β

Eustace probably knows what financial outgoings we need to pay by the end of August.

He will start off with an offer that covers wages or HMRC demands knowing Rovers will eventually accept that plus two months electricity bills and the agent's fees.

Ah fair enough Lol.Β  I hadn't seen the official Club photo. I stopped sticking pictures of the players on the wall when I was about 11.

I also assumed that as VI had picked Toth at the end of last season he'd simply decided he preferred him to Pears.

Quite amusing if it is him, but obviously I hope he's all right.

Probably part of it, and youΒ  would like to think that was the main reason

But I would also imagine that since Pears signed his last contract before the indian court case (and also after taking over from Kaminski as number 1) etc, that he would be on a higher wage than Toth (who signed a year after the court caseΒ  started, and came in as number 2) which probably has more to do with it

I would also hazard a guess that Michalski's new contract, even if extended until 2030 with the option will be considerably less in total pay, than the remaining 2 years on Pears contract

For "court case" please read "summer oi 2023 round of budget cuts"
