We presently have 8 central midfielders and IMO:

Travis:ย  going

Tronstad:ย  anyone else thinking he looks off the pace this season, maybe disinterested?ย  At best, we have him for this season only.

Tavares:ย  showed up well last night but let's keep into context given opposition were League 2 last season and also made 6 changes last night.

Axel:ย  couple of nice passes but doesn't look like he'll do the hard graft and could be something of a loose canon (will collect bookings for fun)

Buckley:ย  we know he's not the answer and needs to go (worrying Ismael brought him back into the fold last night)

Forshaw:ย  we didn't want him at the end of the season but signed him out of desperation in June when little else seemed to be happening.ย  Unsurprisingly injured.ย  Wages down the sh1tter, no longer young enough / good enough to start a match, at best a 10 minute sub 'cameo' towards the end of a game

Montgomery:ย  an over-hyped young player who most likely found his level at Marine / Chorley last season.ย  This lad is 21 and it's not a case of 'he's not ready', it's a case of he never will be ready, simply not good enough.ย  Shown no footballing ability at all to me.

Garrett:ย  struggled to even make loans at lower league clubs work - surely when he recovers from his surgery he'll be out the door in January

So when Travis goes, think we will need at least one more midfielder through the door as 4 of our current 8 are simply deadweights.ย

Take Trav and Tronstad out of that list and its barely a League One midfield.

Tavares sounds promising based on last night, but it looks like Axel is going to need half a season minimum to get up to speed.

Feel for Montgomery, he's been overhyped by the club when the reality is he's unlikely to ever be the required standard. League Two at best I suspect. Same with Garrett.

Forshaw half retired at this point.

Not surprised with Travis asking to leave. Don't blame the lad he did his best. Just wish the headline was Venkys asking to leave.

Hard relegation season ahead with probably numerous head coaches.ย

A shame for Tyjon who could've used the Carabao as a stepping stone into the first team, but like last season we went out early.

I'd be tempted to sell him for ยฃ1m if that's Arsenal's offer and used the funds to strengthen our best 15. Can't see him getting much playing time in a struggling team unless Cantwell leaves.

And as predicted an article this morning about being โ€˜nearerโ€™ to the rw signing but no names givenย

It'll be another Rudy randomer. No champ experience, will take months to adjust.

Still, probably better than Hedges whoever it is (you'd hope anyway!).

It is definitely giving Owen Coyle season vibes at the moment.

Im not a Derby fan and never will.... Travis can go there, dont give a toss anymore. He wants more money and avoid Venkys. Hopefully one day we will rise. Its a shame we cant compete anymore with champinship clubs. And for me Eustace is a rat taking advantage of our situation. End of.

โ€˜Compete with Ryan Hedgesโ€™ย

How about we sign someone clearly better than Hedges?

It wouldnโ€™t take muchโ€ฆ

Also, how does VIโ€™s quote in anyway suggest weโ€™re closer??

Assuming by stating they have someone in mind - could be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5

He also reiterated that its 1 signing plus replacements. Which is nowhere near enough.

Agreed itโ€™s madness how anybody watching the first two games think on it one more up top will be enough truly mentalย

What's the sum of all parts in the Rovers team at the moment, if Travis isn't playing?

Total transfer fees paid for our starting eleven must be a lot less than ยฃ10m?

ย

Toth, Miller, Tavares - ยฃ1M at most each (no way with all the cuts we paid ยฃ2M up front for Tavares, its will be at most half initially)

Hyam - was it ยฃ2.5M?

Ribeiro, Tronstad - free

Hedges ยฃ600Kย

Ohashi - low 6 figures (so no more than ยฃ0.5M

Mc Loughlin, Cantwell, De Neve - ยฃ0.5M each

ย

So somewhere under ยฃ9M, for the first 11

ย

Gueye ยฃ1M - ยฃ1.5M

Alebiosu - ยฃ0.5M

Pickering ยฃ600K

O'Riordan ยฃ0.5K

Forshaw - free

Kargbo -ยฃ1M

Henriksson - ยฃ750K

Pears ยฃ500Kย

Wharton, Buckley, Travis, Carter, Montgomery, Tyjon, Michalski - youth

ย

And probably less than ยฃ14M for the whole squad

Leaving West Brom and one of their fans said โ€˜you best get used to results like that with that manager in chargeโ€™. Not rated there at all and itโ€™s becoming very clear why. He has done nothing in his career. Had one good spell at Barnsley which was more down to the roots laid by the now Bristol City manager. Heโ€™s a nobody, a journeyman and in any normal football world would be nowhere near our club.

I was having the same thought - they have more Rovers players than Rovers do at this stage.

Terrible manager.

One good season during the COVID season.

Barnsley supporting mates even think he's shit regardless of the one COVID season

Aye, but they don't play in the famous blue and white shirts and aren't based at Ewood Park. Therefore they aren't Blackburn Rovers, and don't deserve your support.

Isn't it horrible when a crime is perpetated right in front of your eyes, in graphic detail and in the light of day, yet you are powerless to do anything about it? As Rovers fans, we are the football equivalent of someone with Locked In syndrome. Yet there they are, plain as day and completely unchallengedย  - the Venky BASTARDS and their BASTARD STOOGES ๐Ÿ˜ž

VENKYS OUT!ย

VENKY HENCHMEN AND STOOGES OUT!

Sadly there is nothing left that they would actually want, as they are building a football team.
