Another frustrating day yesterday, but all issues about the owners, Pasha, Gestede aside I do not see the need to panic like some on here are.

The new players will take time to get up to speed, even those who've had prior championship experience. For those of a certain vintage, who remembers the clogger that was Tim Sherwood when we first signed him?!

I've seen plenty of positives from most of the new players to be confident we'll have an ok season. Which considering the churn of players this summer is probably the best we can realistically hope for. We've been unlucky with some officiating but also been poor in key areas of the field when it counts (like yesterday; the ref did not contribute much to our defeat imo, as poor as he was on many occasions).

I'd also add that W Brom, Brum & Norwich are amongst most pundits picks for top 8 finishes. I'd be far more worried if we'd lost to Oxford, Portsmouth & Stoke - like we did last season incidentally, yet we still finished 7th!

We need more new players & new players need time. Let's give them a bit of slack to find their feet & some consistency as in all the games I've seen so far (Bradford aside), we've been there or thereabouts in each of them & but for some fine margins we could have 4 or 5 more points on the board & be having very different discussions.ย

Like I said, all this is ignoring the real problem, which as we all know is not going away any time soon.

I agree with most of this, but a lot of questions remain.

Aside from our transfer business and losing many of our better players, VI will need to buck the trend from his previous positions and significantly improve his win rate %.

(The following is just 'on paper', never seen him play, obviously giving him a chance) If we see Gudjohnsen as basically a Leonard replacement, I don't mind that, it's probably an upgrade there. But since he allegedly costs double what we are getting for Leonard (if we even complete the Leonard sale), I don't think that's the case. And furthermore, I'd much rather be replacing our third choice striker with a clear first choice striker, as we aren't getting enough out of the other two (I'm happy with Ohashi as second choice and competition for first choice, but I haven't seen enough to think he will bag 15+ goals to push us on).ย

Maybe this lad is actually the bee's knees, and the stats are more encouraging than one or two of the strikers we've been linked with. But as somebody pointed out, in the Belgian top flight last season he scored just under half as many as Gueye did in his last season there, and Gueye isn't exactly banging them in for fun. We will see, and hope.

His hold up play looks impressive and the goals at international level suggest he has something.

Im actually really excited by this signing and with decent delivery we may finally have someone who can head some goals in!

With the number of chances we create he is going to have be very clinical

I for one really enjoy being told how to react to my football team losing their 4th of 5 games so far this season.

Remember itโ€™s 3 losses in 4โ€ฆ Ismael doesnโ€™t count the cup gamesย

What was Szmodics like for Peterborough?ย

Szmodics came good because he had something about him and also due to good coaching by a top manager.

If heโ€™d bagged 15 goals last season he wouldnโ€™t be signing for us (take a look at what Ipswich have just spent on a new signing from the same league). Young players can have a bad season, it happens. He may not have settled in Belgium. There could be many reasons why itโ€™s not worked out for him.

I mentioned Woldemate previously. He was released by Bremen on a free after one bad season, a year later and heโ€™s going for silly money. We just donโ€™t know how the new lad will get on but itโ€™s an exciting signing with potential. Itโ€™s another decent length contract so letโ€™s hope he performs.

The window has been interesting. Some good and some bad so far. Our current run of 1 win in 5 is a massive concern and needs to be turned around quickly. I have a horrible feeling weโ€™ll come to regret signing an injured CM. Personally think we needed a proper replacement for Travis. Just hoping that there is some interest in Browne, heโ€™d be perfect.ย

Rovers have some new tie-up with Belgian football? Yet another. Not necessarily a bad thing but just wondering who is doing the scouting.

Remember reading last summer that Gestede has contacts in a few teams in Belgium & France (and apparently now also Saudi Arabia, which was mentioned by Elliott Jackson in one of his articles about Buckley being sold)

From what I can work out, the Eastern European ones are more likely to be the works of Adam Owen & possibly also now Sadowski.ย  Owen was also credited last summer with Ohashi

Michal Cairney who joined in the summer seems to be mainly UK picks

ย

If that is the case, thenย

Gestede picks - Gueye, DeNeve, Alebiosu, Gudjohnsen

Owen/Sadowski picks - Toth, Ohashi, Morishita

Cairney - McLoughlin, Miller

?ย  - Henriksson, Kargbo, Tavares, Baradji, Ribeiro

Some of the over reaction in here is ridiculous, yet not surprising. Off the back of a defeat, many of our so called โ€˜supportersโ€™ believe we are destined to league one after 4 championship games. New signings have been written off already and weโ€™ll end the season on -100 points due to how shit we are.ย

Iโ€™ve seen posts criticising the happy clappers on Facebook but if you came on here youโ€™d think we had just hired (the man whoโ€™s name will not be spoken) again.

I donโ€™t know how some of you function with yourย pessimistic outlook and BPD traits.ย
ย

We are only 4 games Into the season and whether we like it or not the singings are going to take time to adjust (new league, country, moving house, new language etc.) to judge them now is unfair.

I know 75% of the people on this forum want us to go out and reinvest the money Venkys have brought in to sign some โ€˜proven championship experienceโ€™ but again, this isnโ€™t going to happen.ย
ย

You can sit on the other side of your computer/phone and become more and more irate looking at your Suhail Pasha screensaver or you can realise that itโ€™s going to take a little time and try to be more reasonable with your judgement. ย I can guarantee you will feel better ๐Ÿ‘

ย

ย

ย

ย

Questioning whether concerned fans are actually supporters, exaggerating what people are saying (-100 points) and telling them not to be negative.

Ticked all the boxes there.

What's it matter if we sign him or not. If he gets 20 goals this season then he'll only be sold to the highest bidder in the summerย

Itโ€™s trueย

id be happy if he gets 20 goals for us this seasonย

ย

we will sell everyone under this leadership so I accept that but if he gets 20 goals at least it gives us something to enjoy, unlike yesterdayย

Yeh and he father was a great striker so heโ€™s got some good influence around him- hopefully he follows his father and progresses more like erling didย

Im glad that we have signed a striker because it hopefully reduces the chance of Makhtar Gueye getting on the pitch for us. Ohashi also needs some competition, he is ok but nothing special.

But im not convinced on paper by the signing. He seems to have had a really poor season for Gent, their fans dont seem fond of him (contrast that to Legia fans gutted to lose Morishita) and his goal record is unremarkable.

His season in Denmark at a lesser level and his international record before that do provide some encouragement and he is young.

I fear that this will be our last signing but we certainly need more.

Interesting signing this Gudjohnsen. He has something to prove and has a good pedigree and international. He did well for Lyngby in the Danish Superliga and has a been at both Barcelona and Real Madrid academies. If this works out he will be a big hit! Only 23. His father was a really good striker for Chelsea!

Well none of us wanted George Hirst to start and he did fine in the Prem, so I'll give this guy a full season or two before judging... Good luck to him!

Listen to him, he seems happy with his optionsย

Yes I would another keeper with championship experience with Toth Michalski. I never seem Goddard play

He was nervous and he made a mistake. I deffo won't be writing him off after that Debut.ย

Well he isnt for what ever reasons. Something has happened behind the scenesย

I am not writing Michalski off. To suggest I am is twisting what I am saying.

He shouldnt be expected to be immediate backup at a Championship club at his age and has displayed that he isnt ready for that.

You keep saying maybe Ismael is happy with this and that. We dont know but even if he is, any manager isnt beyond question and Ismael certainly isnt.

Has great international stats and not just against teams like San Marino, scored in his last games against Turkey, Wales and a beauty against Scotlandย
