His contract was up on June 30th and he resigned on the 19th June, so no doubt they will try and count that one. 13 minutes ago, Neal said: Anyone know what Nixon said about Dawson exactly? Is it looking likely?  No, just that we are apparently "interested". Transfer window is done and he needs some clicks on his patron, easy story to do with us losing out CB without a replacement on deadline day. This won't happen. Quote

Exiled_Rover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago So did Hyam escape without having to make a hostage video? 1 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hyam ta ta message was short and not very sweet. The one i saw anyway, basically thanks for everything it's been fun, all the best. I never ever got the impression he ever really wanted to be here in the first place. 5 1 Quote
DackDackGoose Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Dawson would be an upgrade for a season. He probably knows he'd get gametime here and not so much at Brum, which is important in your swan song.. Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago No way Dawson comes under the current wage 'structure'. So either: 1. they break it 2. it doesn't happen Think we all know what the outcome is Quote
Bbrovers2288 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Would absolutely take Dawson on a 1 year contract and would make me feel a lot better about the situation at the back. If this can be done then make it happen 1 Quote

A good British focused scout could replace Hyam for modest money but we are now in the freebie pond so anything could happen. Quote
booth Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) The most disappointing thing about this is that Hyam wasn't even that good unless he was alongside someone capable. Then he became a decent defender but still wasn't fit to lace the boots of many others that have played CB for us. Batth was the better player of the two. Yet Gestede, the (dick) Head of Football has somehow managed to turn an average player leaving into a crisis. Edited 3 hours ago by booth 2 Quote

MarkBRFC Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Apologies if already mentioned, but seems like Dawson is in the same agency group as Ismael and TGH who we have just signed. Wonder if there will be some sort of coaching role in the works after next season if he does indeed sign, which I don't think he will. 1 Quote

Indeed, however income does exceed expenditure (once again) this season. Derby, whilst selling nobody, have a very similar expenditure which is why graphics like the one I responded to have very little meaning Edited 2 hours ago by KentExile Quote

Transfermarkt for some reason, guess at some fees, yet have "?" for others, such as Hyam, Leonard, Brittain & Travis, which means that those 4 sales essentially count as £0 in their figures https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2/plus/?saison_id=2025&s_w=s&leihe=3&intern=0&intern=1 I think it may be input by users, similar to wikipedia, but that is just further reason not to believe what they publish Edited 2 hours ago by KentExile 1 Quote
JHRover Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago You could spend £50 million on transfers but if you are only willing / able to pay players £5k a week then they aren't likely to be very good and you probably won't improve as a team. Likewise you could spend £0 and bring in free agents and loans only, but if you are shelling out wages on a PL or parachute level then you're probably going to end up with a very strong side at this level. No doubt of course that this £8-9 million transfer spend estimate will enter the history books as fact once Gestede and co have told Jackson about it and then they can pretend as though there has been serious investment in the team. Anyone with sense can see we have drastically regressed off the back of it. Quote
