I doubt his time at the LT and LancsLive has provided such a financial build up that he can tell them to sling it and abandon his job. I'm not suggesting he resign or give up his job. Just put his foot down as a journalist and tell the club that he will ask the questions that his readers want to know about. If they are restricting the topics he can ask about then he can't do his job. I am pleased he is telling people that the club are restricting his questions rather than just playing along with it. Hopefully wakes a few more of the morons up who think this is normal. 4 Quote

Take Armstrong, a youngish attacking player, had outgrown the club, understandable that we couldnt keep him. (Shame we didnt reinvest ANY of that money) The problem here is that we cant agree deals at all. Its certainly not isolated examples. There is a clear desire to get rid of these players. They arent offered deals proactively, and we will not offer them reasonable Championship wages. 1 deal in nearly 2 years. Hang on, when these Indians appeared from under their stone, Armstrong would not have got a game. He didn't out grow the club, the Indians shrunk it and still are to this day! Armstrong has never been a Premier League footballer and never will be! 3 Quote

I don't know if it was his own personal channel or something. Anyway, he was basically saying what many of us have been saying about the running of the club, lack of ambition, his frustration about the January windows etc, just in a calmer manner. I remember comments on here afterwards giving him credit for being spot on and for being across the issues. The only explanation for how he is when in press conferences and when interviewing these chancers, is what you have said. He's playing it safe and trying to keep his job and ensuring the LT don't lose access. It must be difficult as he knows the reality but has to remain calm. I know I couldn't do it. 5 Quote
Torgeir Posted August 15 Posted August 15 The club holds all the power unfortunately - not uncommon in football and sports journalism with this kind of behaviour. In the end the biggest question will be answered when we see what our squad looks like once the transfer window is shut. Â Â 2 Quote

Sad but true, and a small paper like the LT can't afford to lose the minimal access they have, half of Elliots stories are passed on by the club media account anyway, so it's pure propaganda 2 Quote

They have no hiding place nor anyone else to pin the blame on  Pressure, what pressure? Pressure from where? Pressure to do what exactly? We know the Venkies don't give a toss about success on the pitch so must just be pressure for black ink  Just how do the good folks of Blackburn band together and get rid of these horrible owners. They just are not going to leave on their own. Popular Post TommyRovers Posted August 15 Popular Post Posted August 15 Attacking the local journo because of the clubs behaviour is wild to me. Jackson’s hands are tied. He’s not an angry Rovers fan, he’s a journalist for a small local paper. There’s not much he can do. It’s a tricky balancing act.  21 Quote
roversfan99 Posted August 15 Posted August 15 No closer to signing that one solitary addition either. Hedges for the forseeable (and beyond). 3 Quote

Pressure within - as mentioned by other accounts or posters waggott was their fall guy. Now there is nobody to pin blame on it’s Rudy & pasha I also see one of the Rao family in attendance recently and never has done so before. It could be wishful thinking but I’m hoping the walls are closing in on pasha and then in turn Rudy Quote

Give us the figures VI. What did we offer him? Yes - exactly this - if he insists on being "transparent" and in the process portraying Trav as the villain of the piece then we need to know exactly how much we're offering him and how much Derby are offering him. For example if we were only offering £8k p.w. and Derby were offering £16k p.w. all blame suddenly shifts away from Trav for wanting to leave doesn't it? 6 Quote

Really like the look of him. Also Miller looks very good, will land well and fit right in. McCloughlin looks like he knows what he is doing. Not so convinced on Alebiousu, De Neve, Henricksson, . Plus Gueye is getting worse and worse. We need three of those four to come good. Only watched the game live, but I said N'Zonzi at half time . 1 Quote

It’s a tricky balancing act.  Sorry, him saying on the one hand on a podcast what he really thinks but then on the other putting out puff pieces for the LT all the time as if everything is perfectly normal isn't helpful, in fact it's exactly the opposite. I know his employers dont want to bite the hand that feeds them and he has to put food on the table etc etc but for the sake of the welfare of the Club it's gone way beyond that. The Club's very existence is in peril, at least at a meaningful level. Anyhow credit where it's due - Im very impressed that the LT have led with the partial blackout. It seems they don't mind putting out PR nonsense on behalf of the Club, but when access to that nonsense is removed or restricted they don't like it at all! Quote

Joke of a setup. Not being so "transparent" now huh? Throw a hand grenade in blaming Travis then block any further attempts at getting to the bottom of it or or of diffusing the situation. 3 Quote
