Forshaw during the summer?  (despite him technically leaving first, I'm not having him counted as a new signing)  Although that probably wasn't a hard one to get done

Forshaw didn't "technically" leave did he? His contract was up on June 30th and he resigned on the 19th June, so no doubt they will try and count that one.

Anyone know what Nixon said about Dawson exactly? Is it looking likely?

No, just that we are apparently "interested".

Transfer window is done and he needs some clicks on his patron, easy story to do with us losing out CB without a replacement on deadline day.

This won't happen.

Hyam ta ta message was short and not very sweet.

The one i saw anyway, basically thanks for everything it's been fun, all the best.

I never ever got the impression he ever really wanted to be here in the first place.

If Carter or Wharton could play every game then no he probably wouldn't be but right now football wise that is a big hole.

A good British focused scout could replace Hyam for modest money but we are now in the freebie pond so anything could happen.

The most disappointing thing about this is that Hyam wasn't even that good unless he was alongside someone capable. Then he became a decent defender but still wasn't fit to lace the boots of many others that have played CB for us. Batth was the better player of the two.

Yet Gestede, the (dick) Head of Football has somehow managed to turn an average player leaving into a crisis.

You think the player who was most recently playing for Wolverhampton turned down Birmingham because of location?

From the NW and I would assume wants to move back up that way.

Apologies if already mentioned, but seems like Dawson is in the same agency group as Ismael and TGH who we have just signed.

Wonder if there will be some sort of coaching role in the works after next season if he does indeed sign, which I don't think he will.

No way Dawson comes under the current wage 'structure'.

So either:

1. they break it

2. it doesn't happen

Think we all know what the outcome is

I mean he hasn't played for 9 months and it's still £40k a month at 35 when you're unemployed.

He might.

Transfer expenditure means very little without comparing it to income received from transfers

At the Rovers income received means nothing.

Indeed, however income does exceed expenditure (once again) this season.

Derby, whilst selling nobody, have a very similar expenditure which is why graphics like the one I responded to have very little meaning

Where do they get those figures from?

e.g. even going off Transfermarkt, Derby's CF cost £6.9m and their RB £2.5m. Was Travis free? Carlton Morris free? No loan fees paid for Beck, Brereton-Diaz et al?

Transfermarkt for some reason, guess at some fees, yet have "?" for others, such as Hyam, Leonard, Brittain & Travis, which means that those 4 sales essentially count as £0 in their figures

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2/plus/?saison_id=2025&s_w=s&leihe=3&intern=0&intern=1

I think it may be input by users, similar to wikipedia, but that is just further reason not to believe what they publish

You could spend £50 million on transfers but if you are only willing / able to pay players £5k a week then they aren't likely to be very good and you probably won't improve as a team.

Likewise you could spend £0 and bring in free agents and loans only, but if you are shelling out wages on a PL or parachute level then you're probably going to end up with a very strong side at this level.

No doubt of course that this £8-9 million transfer spend estimate will enter the history books as fact once Gestede and co have told Jackson about it and then they can pretend as though there has been serious investment in the team. Anyone with sense can see we have drastically regressed off the back of it.
