The first is a very arbitrary limit, the second is more fluid and would have reasoning behind why a player is in a certain range and what’s necessary for him to move into a further one. If these are clearly conveyed to the players they then can’t be in any doubt as to what they need to do to achieve a pay rise. The club should also be keeping an eye on other clubs’ pay structures so what we offer can be adjusted to remain as competitive as possible. Will you please stop being so logical. 2 Quote

Obviously this has happened a week after the window closed. The window would have gone exactly the same whether they had to pay a bond or not. 2 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Yup virtually all the worthwhile assets have been cashed, squad wage bill lowered, most of the money gone to running costs with a fraction re-invested in cheap punts. Now it'll be back to as you were with annual losses covered for a few years, a few more outgoings to contribute then no real spending again for a few years until the next crisis looms prompting more cuts and fire sales. Round and round we go. Meanwhile Suhail and gang will earn another million or so sat not taking accountability for anything. Edited 10 hours ago by Tomphil2 3 Quote

Skill I don’t think they have. League 2 here we come. Happy days. Quote

Quite possible, but the guarantee condition staying in place during the window gave an excuse for the cost-cutting that the suckers in the fanbase will lap up. Quote

blue and whites Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Asked chat gpt: 0–6 weeks: Usually non-weight-bearing with a cast or walking boot, often using crutches. 6–12 weeks: Gradual increase in weight-bearing if X-rays show healing. 3–6 months: Most people can begin careful rehabilitation with more weight-bearing activities such as faster walking, elliptical, and light strength training for the foot/calf. 6–12 months: Many can return to running and higher-impact sports, but this must be gradual and always after medical/fysiotherapy clearance. Healing time for minor stress fractures is often 6–8 weeks before gradual return to low-impact exercise, but full return to running/jumping may still take 3–4 months. Factors like location of the fracture matter a lot. For example: Metatarsal shaft stress fractures usually heal faster. He might be out for a while Edited 3 hours ago by blue and whites Quote
roversfan99 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Even for us. What an absolutely ridiculous signing. Quote

Might not have had an operation despite wearing a protective boot, but think we'll find out sooner rather than later. Hope he lights this league up once fit, but probably won't be match fit until mid to late november. 1 Quote
philipl Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Sticking with my estimated 10 I am confident are good enough to keep us in this league. Hopefully, some newbies develop and that 10 figure grows. Thankfully Gueye is not in the 10 but I didn't think we'd be mad enough to offload him with our window closed and Turkey still open.. Here's to us raiding the free agents bin and Umtiti starting at Watford... Going back to sleep. Best way of getting better... Quote

I don't think their court case will affect us anymore, but if I were Venkys my next move would be to get some of that money they've put up for the bond back. Basically the need for more bonds is over because the amount they've paid into bonds already considerably exceeds the maximum fine payable as a result of the case. I think we are talking either 7.7 mill or 8.8 million quid in fines (currency conversions seem to have slight discrepancies) and I think it was something like 25 or 30 million already paid in bonds, but the proper numbers are all in that thread. I expect they'll want that difference back, and then to not pay or minimise the fine, but ultimately I don't think we have to give a shit about that anymore, and thus it's probably be more gratifying for most of us if they suffer as much financially as possible. Some would argue freeing up their constraints on funding us is a bad thing in the long game anyway. Amazing thanks man I don’t understand why they still own us we are more headache than it’s worth surely Quote

Kjell Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago Based on today’s interview, I would like to suggest the following reconstruction of the interview that took place when Ismael got the job. Suhail: So, tell us a bit about yourself. Are you willing to lead a team where the maximum wage is £10,000 a week? Val: Of course. Rudy: The thing is, because of JDT, Broughton, John “Snake” Eustace and ehh… Steve… ehh… no, because we’re very disappointed that Travis is soon going to sabotage us, we’ve got a lot of players running down their contracts that we’re going to sell. Are you willing to lead that team? Val: Of course, as long as… Steve Waggott: Tronstad, you know, the one who’s better than Rodri — no one’s likely to bid for him, so you can have him for another year. Rudy: We don’t know that! If we get an offer, we’ll sell. Suhail: Of course. Val: I’ve got all the stats on strong players in the lower leagues in Europe! Rudy: Brilliant, we’ve got a fax machine. Suhail: Huh? Waggott: You know, that bloke Silvestre. Val: I want to penetrate! Rudy: Yes! Adam Owen’s phone rings Adam: Hello? Voice in the background Adam: Hi Steve! You’re saying you’ve got a couple of tips from the Scottish league? Some late bloomers? Lovely. What do you say, Val? Val: It’s what we expected. Suhail: How many years? Val: Four. Waggott: But we do need a bit of Championship experience, so we were thinking of… Rudy (cuts him off): Sssshhh! Rudy: OK with Adam Forshaw? Are we aligned? Val: Huh? Sure! Rudy: Repeat after me: we are aligned. Val: We are aligned. Rudy: We are aligned. Waggott: Are we? Val & Rudy: We are aligned! (Rudy whispers to Waggott: you’re out.) Rudy: We’re going to build a sustainable cost-cutting machine. Allez les bleus! Meeting adjourned. Quote
