150th Anniversary kit/celebrations

Very disappointed to see the leak and it's unacceptable. It's spoils the good PR and tonight's evening event for STH. 

I will be buying the shirt and very proud to wear my Rovers colours anywhere.

Had another look this morning, retract my earlier thoughts. It's not terrible. 

IF they are planning on a 150th specific shirt then will accept this as the home kit (damn no reversed halves grrr) and wait to see what they thought up for the special kit. 

I like the Port Vale one posted earlier up the thread. A really homage to earlier times and looks pretty sleek too.

Definitely think there ought to be a 150s Suite rebrand somewhere in the stadium, and a new range of clothing hopefully nicer than what we currently house at the minute.

The club put effort into 125 as it was a club still in Jack’s image with John Williams and Tom Finn at the fore. They got it as they got the club.

25 years on, just look at the state of the place.

Agree that as a 150th kit it's nothing special, but it is a nice home kit for any other year, and I like Macron, our home kit this past year was one of my favs in at least the past 15 years...

Really hope they release a proper anniversary kit however, especially since they have teases the Maltese cross.

The halves aren't reversed on the back therefore it's not the traditional colours.

It's not as bad as some of the abominations.over the years but it's still gash. It's actually quite fitting for a 15th anniversary shirt in that regard.

The collar is nice, bit of a late 60s look. It's not awful, not as good as last year's.

Still looks like a template kit from a catalogue though and the sponsor too big.

I hope it won't be the ACTUAL commerative anniversary shirt. It's absolutely nothing to get excited about it's meh, a very disappointing lack of detailing for the 150 years from that video.

I really like the shirt and I think I'll be buying one for the first time in a few seasons. I just hope they have another, more retro, shirt that they wear for the home match closest to the 150th anniversary date. Would probably get that one too tbf.

Who there has a feel for Blackburn Rovers? Its heritage? Its traditions?

I'm amazed you thought I was talking about you with a "this lot" comment.

Was obviously talking about those running the club not going ahead with the reversed halves, despite having all the meetings, surveys etc telling them that it was the one feature that was non negotiable.

Fair point. Who is actually in tune with the history and in touch with our past. Ought to be drilled into everyone from groundsman to bench staff to cafe worker on joining

All needed is a little thought to detail sometimes.

Just a passing thought,does this set the trend for any special Club events this season?...dont get your hopes up too high folks!

They got last year's kit right. It's not difficult. It's deliberate at this point.

Meh. It's a Rovers kit. I've seen better and seen worse.

As the official formation date of Blackburn Rovers is 5th November, the club could redeem itself here by requesting to play in the home game closest to that date in a different shirt which has a proper retro feel. Then putting it on sale in the run up to Christmas as a limited edition (i.e no re-stock)

But that would cost additional money on the shirt and be a risk on the stock, so unlikely. Although Yasir is probably scribbling notes as he reads this.

Tonight event of the unveiling of the new home shirt and kit would have been good PR allowing STH the chance to see the kit first and exclusively plus enabling us to buy the kit tonight before tomorrow. Good PR. 

Good promotional video and the fact the home kit is on sale in mid June is another good PR for the club.

Not surprised at a leak, 90% of shirts are leaked so meh to that.

In terms of the shirt, in it's own right it's a nice enough shirt, a 60's vibe to it with the reversed V neck, however as many have said as an 'anniversary shirt' it's underwhelming.
