The ‘Legends’ game feels like a disaster waiting to happen.

As part of a more detailed Anniversary celebration season (and with more confidence in the club) I’d perhaps be a little excited.

Bobby Mimms, MGP, Matt Derbyshire and Kevin Gallacher announced. Maybe ex players like Ryan Nyambe, Lewis Travis and co can join in. 

Nobody from the first 50 years? I’m out! 

But it feels like a terrible idea overall, can see us getting battered and the Derby fans being the only ones staying around for a while to rub it in

Derby have a decent away following, I think they would probably bring 3k regardless of kick off time, then probably add on another 1k for the interest of coming to goad us about Eustace. At those prices I think they'll definitely sell out the bottom tier. They'll be coming to goad and spoil the party and it will probably be a 6-pointer.

They are just absolutely clueless ! They are setting this once great club and what is left of its weary and beaten supporter base, up for further and complete ridicule from the football world. It is the single most crazy idea that the idiots have come up with in the 15 long years of our domestic slavery to the foreign occupiers, totally shameful. It will be an absolute unmitigated disaster and the fools and idiots behind this, must be the only ones who don’t see it 🙈😞

Eustace's Rams couldn't beat an egg last year until they faced Valerian's plodders. It was his first win there. What are the chances of a repeat? 😄

Come full time at 2:30pm there's a pretty strong chance we will have seen Rovers get beat by a Derby team containing our former management team, captain, and 3-4 other players. Unless something changes quickly we will be in or around the bottom 3 of the Championship.

Odds are the weather will be crap as well.

How many of the 8000 Rovers fans are going to hang around in those conditions potentially watching Derby fans/players/staff celebrate and gloat whilst Rovers get ready to play this 'legends' match afterwards?

Not many at all I'd wager. It's hard enough getting people to stay in their seats for the 'lap of appreciation' after the final home game when we've lost never mind watch another match.

The £18.75 idea (as well as £187.50 ST’s) was one the Trust suggested to the Club some 2 1/2 years ago when we first starting talking  to the club about “a season of celebrations”.

The club take the best of our ideas (including the flexi ST) as their own ideas then launch them with the worst possible timing.

Yeah, the only way it'd possibly work is to hold the exhibition match before the main game but presumably they dont want to put the pitch at risk.

Another problem is how many will turn up for a 9 or 10 kick off friendly game. They should have payed a bit extra for top European team and get a big crowd some neutral fans on. But it's lets do everything on the cheap and loose more money.

The answer was, still is and will always have been Bilbao at home during an off week with a combination of ex players, managers and current players. But that would have cost money.

There was an initial plan to actually do something quite interesting with this idea, but it seems like it was too much effort.

my best guess is Old Etonians were promised something ages ago and we are obligated to make a game happen, so very recently David Dunn has been tasked with cobbling a team together. Shoehorning it on to the end of the Derby game means none of the staff at Ewood have to work an extra day. Suits them, suits Suhail. They are all delighted they don’t have to do Sundays as the women’s team has been bombed off to Clitheroe, and that we only had one pesky league cup game.
