Mattyblue Posted November 30 Posted November 30 (edited) Great to be the manager at Chadster FC, never get the sack… hang on a minute, sounds familiar. Edited November 30 by Mattyblue Quote

If they were to go on a good run of form and finish 3rd or 4th then they could still possibly keep their playoff place even with the points taken away. I think automatics are extremely unlikely, but playoffs could still happen in theory. They'd need a really quick turnaround in form though, pretty much immediately, and sustain it for most of the rest of the season. I thought I read 15 points somewhere. They aren't in good form but playoffs could be option if they turn that around. I think he is good coach but he needs the chance to bring in his own players. Need a quality striker in that team Quote

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted Monday at 14:17 Moderation Lead Posted Monday at 14:17 They'll probs still deduct three from us on Saturday 😅. Quote

Simon Jordan was saying last week how he had put together a consortium to buy Wednesday but they were put off by the EFL having a "25p in the pence rule". Apparently the former owner Chansiri must get a guaranteed amount or Wednesday get an extra 15 point deduction on top of everything else. I've never heard of this before. Is that right, and if so what's the reasoning behind it? Sounds like it's a reward for running the Club badly to me. Could it have adverse ramifications for us if Venky's ever agree to sell? Quote

Yes been around hasnt it the 25p rule. Jordan wasnt the main man or investor but part investor with main investor being the main man. Ashley hasn't bidded enough either at £20m. But 3 bidders have bidding at £30m Quote

Is that in addition to the £30m asking price? Quote

Potential owners have to show them had £50m proof of funds. This is cutting out waste of time bids. 3 potential owners have bidding £30m for the club. It will be interesting what any new owner plan is for the club cos the club is basically relegate before they purchase. So its massive rebuilding job. Surely they appoint an experience management team including good experience head coach Quote

only2garners Posted Monday at 16:41 Posted Monday at 16:41 As well as the club there is a purchase necessary to buy the stadium, which is also owned by Chansiri but is a separate company. That's on top of the £30m or so. Quote
wilsdenrover Posted Monday at 18:22 Posted Monday at 18:22 Chansiri’s ban doesn’t feel anything like long enough. Quote

Backroom DE. Posted Monday at 22:57 Backroom Posted Monday at 22:57 He shouldn't be allowed to own a professional club again, really. Not that I expect he'll be back even after the three years are up. The additional six points deducted are irrelevant to Wednesday at this point as they know they're going down. They probably would be even if all deducted points were given back to them. It should mean they start next season with a clean slate, which is the best possible outcome for them at this point. Quote

I think protocols are just different now, I remember a couple of decades ago a poor chap having cpr at Ewood for ages whilst the game carried on, was quite harrowing I heard that there was only 1 ambulance at the ground so when it took the chap to hospital there wasn’t one at the ground which means they can’t play.
