With the exception of McLaughlin these new lads all look shite.

We are woefully short of quality.

Early days. Only 55 minutes, Yada yada yada.

But yeah, certainly De Neve and the Swede looked lost.

He would have parried that near post shot back towards the penalty spot.

That is unfair, he would not have go to that shot in the first place.

what is the point in that... we have a throw in halfway into their half and we throw it backwards to our defence?

Ryan Hedges has lost the one yard of pace he previously had.

And personally, I think McLoughlin has looked alright in the moments with low pressure but he’s entirely missing at set plays and the long throws. Doesn’t seem to like to win the first ball, which isn’t a good trait for a centre back.

I'm not having a bar of the RB either pal. If we hang our hat on him for a full season we're in all sorts of bother. He struggles with all the fundamentals including taking a sodding throw in.

Why is VI bringing Alebiosu off?

Should have brought off Hedges and pushed him up

He’s injured, struggling to walk.

On the goal, that was my first thought. Why was the ball allowed to bounce? Later in the first half, we had 3 crosses in succession, all well cleared by headers from Baggies.

If there was a positive to take from the game, I think Alebiosu has looked ok so far. Gets his foot in at the right time. Think he’ll be good.

Quick enough to make up for mistakes ala Walker too.

He reminded me of Amari Bell in his first game. Could knock it down the line and run after it so looked like he could do something, but ultimately that was his one “trick”.

At least he’s been involved.

I believe it’s heavily coached into players that you don’t let it bounce. He didn’t seem to want to know about the throw and Henrikssen ended up going for it and beating him to it. As a centre back, unless it’s arriving somewhere unexpected you have to be first to it. To be fair to him, he’s far from the worst showing today but I’d rather have Wharton in there.
