We’re on our worst points total after 9 Championship games under the Venkys.

We won't get more than  30 points!

There is not enough  talent in the squad, made worse by the manager being totally out of his depth!

Is this what some of us have been hoping and praying for? Relegation to League one and maybe down to League two in the hope that the owners will finally get rid? I know it sounds daft but maybe we are soon to see a chink of light at the end of the tunnel.

As I see it this season it's which team will come down with us and Wednesday?

It will not matter to the owners what League we find ourselves in, they will just keep cutting more and more costs to compensate for the decrease in income

They will deliberately let Ewood Park fall into a state of disrepair and then sell it off as they move towards a ground sharing agreement with Clitheroe or someone similar.

They've already deliberately relegated both the men's and women's teams this season.

I'm sure some walnut brained troglodytes will applaud the move coming out with the usual guff "wot duu uww oxpikt wiiii iz o smoll tuwn klu6". Fuck venkys, kentaro, SEM and fuck anyone who supports them in any way. Absolute cunts.

16/17 - Rovers had 8 points from their opening 9 games.

I think someone  Wilsden said on here over the weekend that this is our worst start to a season under Venkys. Very worrying considering during that time we have survived relegation twice on the final day and been relegated twice. Strap yourselves in.

I only looked at the Championship seasons.

I’ve just checked and the year they got us relegated from the PL we were doing even worse (5 points).

Probably is the goal, but why? What’s the point of any of this?

That's what I can never get my head around. Why bother going to all the trouble of owning us, just to stick us in League one (or two)?

Just sell the fucking club, if you're done with us.

IMO, they will only be done with the club when it folds.  I think there are obvious reasons why they won't sell.

It could take another 5 to 10 years to 'see the job through' but in my mind it will happen and our club will be finished.

This squad lacks the quality to even stay in the Championship, head coach is clearly out of depth, won't be surprised if we ended up finishing rock bottom with a record low point tally. League One is staring at us right in the face.

You have predicted that yearly for about 10 years to be fair.

I don't blame Ismael too much. You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

The chicken chokers are now slaughtering pigs.

I am sick of seeing happy clappers just happily watch our club be torn to shreds and clap along, it infuriates me. When venkys go they can take them with them. VENKYS OUT!

they’ve ripped apart what was a stable premier league club, lies and awful decisions made, it’s all their fault.

Apart from that they won’t get their money back?

Yes, no wonder no interest in buying us has got to the formal stage.

They'd have to open the books wouldn't they?

Eustace managed it.

And the silk purse was turned into even more of a sow's ear with Ismail's full blessing.

This sort of thing isn't my area of expertise tbh, I have no doubts that there has been some, er, let's say "interesting activity" that they are hiding and can't let out into public, but what kind of thing are we looking at here? I ask, because I don't really know, but wouldn't anything that's got a paper trail already be out there in the public realms? or if it's not can it not be exposed somehow to force them out?

I'm at my wits end with these clowns, I'm just totally fed up with supporting a club where it's a chore, this isn't what supporting a club is about, it's supposed to be enjoyable (I get there are highs and lows and you roll with them but we're on a constant down).

I think 10 years is a bit of a stretch but over recent years yes.

In decades as an accountant, I worked across many fields in industry, commerce and sport (including football) and I can't recall any acquired business where the ownership was so remote, detached and seemingly hands-off in the organization and management of its business (a business some would consider to be in relative free fall).  I would have expected such a business to have either entered insolvency or been sold many years ago.

So what is our owners' end objective?  I do not think they will ever sell - I understand over the years there have been a number of expressions of interest in buying either the club, or a part of it (Battersby and cronies being one that made it into the public domain some years ago), but all seemingly rebuffed.  IMO, it's a managed decline with an almost inevitable conclusion as I posted yesterday.

Even if our owners were minded to sell, the only way they would get back any sizeable part of their 'investment' of £200million+ is if we got back to the PL - it wont happen.

It's a bit more than 'opening the books'!

Due diligence when considering the acquisition of a company is a thorough investigation by the would be buyer into a company's financial, legal, and operational health before an acquisition.

It should leave no stone unturned from both legal and financial perspectives.  A big focus is obviously on risk identification and risk mitigation.

Due diligence would be undertaken by both accountants and lawyers and for a company the size of Rovers, you would be looking at several weeks' work (even up to 2 months depending upon efficiency of selling/buying teams and findings).  It is a timely and costly process.

I still don't understand. You refer to obvious reasons why they won't sell and then mention a managed decline, but why? The only thing I can come up with is that they're hell bent on getting their investment back but also not willing to spend money for a promotion push, which leaves them in a catch 22. That doesn't track with a managed decline though. But I'm not an accountant, so if I'm missing something I'm happy to be corrected here?

My view is they wont sell in fear of what due diligence might uncover / reveal.  Do you think the operation of Rovers has been / is squeaky clean?  Let's not forget the investigation by the Indian authorities into the alleged breach of foreign exchange management rules by VHPL - there is some history there.

So what is their option?  A managed decline is a strategic reduction which normally leads to the closure of a business.  Is this what we are seeing with Rovers?  If Rovers are finished in 5 to 10 years time, I think Venky's acquisition of Rovers 20 to 25 years ago will be seen as a mere footnote in the history books with hardly a ripple on the pond and who will care?

A number of times we have been knocking on the play-off door and our owners haven't seized the initiative.  IMO, the operational management of Rovers doesn't convey a burning desire or ambition to get back to the PL.  We might well be in a relegation scrap this season and a scrap I don't think we will win.

You tell me where you think the club is heading.

The only way they get their money back is via promotion to the PL.

That's the only time at which their shares in the club are actually going to be worth anything.

They've had 3 good opportunities to try and get there under 3 different managers in the last 4 years and on each occasion have barely lifted a finger to try and get over the line and secure promotion, infact there's a good argument to suggest they've actually sabotaged the manager's efforts by selling key players making it even more difficult to sustain results, then making the conditions so intolerable that two of the managers walked out of their jobs soon after the window closed with no proper effort made to keep them

Either way, they've proven that they don't want promotion and that even when presented with a surprise opportunity to try and get it they won't make any effort to do it, so I think we can safely park that notion on the shelf with other fantasy theories.

Promotion has never, was never and will never be a factor in their thinking.

I still think we need to get ourselves back to what Venkys were brought into this club to do. They were never here to take an interest or run the club as any other owner would do. Their sole purpose since day one has been to sit as legal owners, top up the running cost shortfall, reap the 'benefits' whilst leaving it to others to run as minimal hassle to them.

Why?

Well that's what the orchestrators and designers of the model had in mind - a vehicle by which there is legitimate ownership in the background and on the title deeds but in the void a space for third parties to run it and profit from it.

So we are now back to the original plan - let trusted henchmen do the dirty work (Shadow man and his mate), the owners aren't interested and never have been in the running of the club. They're prepared to tip in the necessary for running costs but at the moment want that to be at the bare minimum.
