Wednesday obviously look like they'll take up one of the relegation spots. You might argue the same about Oxford to a lesser degree.

Our home form will be crucial. If we can't sort that out I still think we'll go down.

Maybe it is overconfidence on reflection but I think it is founded on us 

a) being in a lot of games. We've not looked vastly out of place in many games. Sure, thats sometimes being as bad as the opposition, but we don't look vastly inferior. And

b) we are doing way better than I thoihjt we would. Given the exodus of talent and experience and the paper thin squad i figured we would do a lot worse than we have done. As it is, we're still picking up points and aren't struggling like Wednesday are (which outside of the penalty points, was form i thought we would replicate). 

Another game where we got a point, and could/should have got more, adds to the optimism. That said I can see that there is a strong case to argue the opposite too,  especially when considering Venkys self sabotage as well. 

So yes, maybe overconfident, but its certainly not the certainty I feared with all the changes. And with only 2 spots to play for - which is huge - and some weak teams around us I think we'll still stay up.

The worst squad in years with a dud of a manager. Then combined with the absolute worst luck in referees, weather, last minute losers, injuries.

It’s all come together in a season to end in relegation.

All the issues - poor squad, exacerbated injury issues, poor manager, late goals against, games off due to waterlogged pitch - come back to the owners and their investment/management of the club. You get back what you put in.

Also the factor of 48 games and counting to collect yellow cards in probably contributing to one or two additional suspensions. Wouldn't like to bet on yesterday being the last second half abandonment.

I wonder if the abandoned games count towards the suspension thresholds.

It would be unfair if they didn’t.

Pretty sure they do, think one of Gardner Hickmans bookings for his recent suspension was against ipswich in the abandoned game.

I knew the cards counted still, what I was meaning was do abandoned games also  count towards the ‘cut off’ points (ie 19 games and 32 games)

It would be harsh if a player got a suspension for picking up a card in what is deemed game 19 (because abandonments don’t count) when it was really game 19 + bits of two others.

Does that make any sense??

Accumulation Thresholds Remain: The thresholds for suspension (e.g., 5 yellow cards by a certain point in the season in the Premier League) remain the same. The player who received a caution in the abandoned match is one card closer to the threshold and risks suspension in future games, including the replayed fixture.

I'm pretty certain they do, can't have it one way and not the other.

Just doesn’t seem right to add the card to the total but not the match to the (threshold) total.

I expect you’re correct with that being how it works though.
