To me if the new number 2 I dont think either Brum goal happens. I think his injury turned the game and the way many Rovers players looked mentally knackered after 60 minutes was also a major concern.

Good point. In truth Birminghams substitutes were more impactful than ours.

As for being tired I agree but I would argue that several of their players looked like they too were fatigued. It was a high energy game on a hot day and we have a couple of players still off the pace in terms of general fitness.

She was shit anyway

Refused to make tea as well. And did not accept the contract offer we sent her via a homing pigeon a day prior to her contract ending.

We had the game by the scruff of the neck, we were well in control, till ismael made 3 substitutions in succession and handed  the game to the brummie scum on a plate. We almost scored goal of the month towards the end of the 1st half a rasping shot that struck the bar. We are in trouble with the Alibousi injury.

My support for this great club will always be there. No waving or no walking away. Rovers is part of my family and my life since 1991. Always will be.

You don’t know that.

I noticed Alebiosu was on the pitch at full time which was a good sign. I saw they sent the spinal board with the neck brace back so hopefully the injury isn't too serious.

In the two league games so far I like the look of him.

Alebiosu and McLoughlin look like the picks of the new signings so far.

Long throw aside, not been that impressed by Miller. Looks a clumsy type defensively.

Axel and De Neve well off it.

I agree completely but would add that I thought Tavares was decent yesterday.

I saw a comment yesterday about the team news being out early. I spoke to a friend and he told me that from this season the exchange of team sheets has changed to one and a quarter hours before kick off.

Anyone know whether there has been an update on Alibousi ? Be a real shame if he is out for an extended period, first impressions is that he looks like a decent signing.

Was going say, he came out of the tunnel and climbed the steps to join the other players whilst the game was still on .

Looked to be walking OK.

Agree but an experienced centre half should know what to do in the circumstances. Under no circumstances should he allow their player to break with the ball.

If ever there was a case of taking a yellow for team it was then and showed why he is no longer captain.

I think it was McLaughlin, hence why he got booked, and to be fair he does take the man out but the loose ball is picked up by another Birmingham player.

You loved a moan about everything.

Up to the penalty incident everything was in Rovers favour and it look like Rovers win. Something you and others don't focus on just all the negative stuff and we didn't created much yet we scored and were winning and created the best chance of the game until their penalty, yet you and others don't once mentioned that at all. Interesting why that it tho isn't it

The tactical change to 3 CBs helped kill us.  We sat back and invited them on to us.  Naive decision - we were controlling the game set up as we were, there was no need to change it.  We should know from experience we are spectacularly bad at trying to protect a lead but VI made a daft choice and it contributed to our downfall.

Only seen the highlights so far, will have a look at the game later:

- Great strike and goal from Cantwell, displaying his technique when hitting the ball from just outside the box.

- De Neve is at fault for the equaliser/penalty conceded; way too eager trying to win possession from Laird, allowing him to turn on the other side and attack the box. Should've just closed him down, hold his back and force him to play a backwards pass.

- I blame the corner setup more than any individual player for their winning goal. Why are there six players standing in the middle of the box, one standing next to the keeper, one at the near post but we have ZERO players outside the box ready to shoot/finish the attack should there be a clearance??? We only had ONE player standing relatively close to the corner taker being nowhere near the action and who had to make a panic run back to the goal facing FOUR Brum players. I don't care that the corner was poorly taken, you simply don't take risks like that deep into stoppage time having a draw in your hand. Yes, Henriksson should've made a professional foul at the beginning of the transition and Wharton should've been closer to Dykes inside the box but all of that mess could've been easily avoided.

Which is pretty much what his previous clubs fans said.

With an under 21 game tomorrow I would like to see some of the fringe players or the ones that need game time playing some part.  However based on previous managers I don't expect it to happen.

You’re never well in control at 1-0. As we saw it only takes one mistake and it’s game on.

If you have a corner taker that can’t land the ball at head height on or around the space between the edge of the six yard box and the penalty spot when the chips are down and you’ve stacked the box you can’t blame bad luck. That’s just dumb football, pure and simple.

I've got a knee that requires surgery and even I'm getting the ball into the box. To effectively lose a game from that is one of the worst things I've seen at Ewood. Like others have said though, it's not even surprising. We've thrown away so many points through the years in the dying moments of games.

Wow, that was a kick in the bolloxks.

Solid performance, completely nullified Birmingham and never ever looked like losing the game. A day of 7’s across the board and we defended well.

Tavares tired in the second half and the tackle for the penalty, though harsh, looked a tired one. The second goal was scandalous. Whoever agreed to put every player in their box with zero defensive cover needs shooting.

Overriding - we’re a decent championship side, but we have next to zero in the final third and the subs are even worse. We will be relegation fodder unless we sort it. I’m fuckin wounded I decided to part with £500 to punish myself like this until next May!

There are several other decent championship sides around us all on ZERO points.  Early days, new team we will get better, still going down but not with a whimper we will have a bit of fight to us.

Based on what? We didn't have a shot on goal for the first 35 minutes of the opening match and none until the 50th minute of this one. Going to be difficult to put up a fight if we never create any chances. Running around a lot isn't the same thing.

I don't think we had the game by the scruff of the neck, Birmingham had loads of the ball and did little with it. We did very little when we did actually have the ball. At least we had taken a chance and nicked a lead. The shot off the bar in the first half wouldn't have counted the game had stopped for an offside.
