It’s the small mistakes that make the difference between winning and losing. Both Brum goals should not have happened and were the result of basic errors by players who are inexperienced and probably not good enough for the Championship anyway.

Of more  concern is the lack of skill and creative ability and goalscoring power. It’s obvious this team will struggle to score goals. Put together over the course of a season they will lead to relegation

I noticed Alebiosu was on the pitch at full time which was a good sign. I saw they sent the spinal board with the neck brace back so hopefully the injury isn't too serious.

In the two league games so far I like the look of him.

Good news, it looked very serious with the stretcher on, from what I've seen of  Alebiosu, hes a decent signing.

If you don’t make chances you don’t score, if you don’t score you don’t win, if you don’t win you get relegated. It’s a simple as that.

I've got a knee that requires surgery and even I'm getting the ball into the box. To effectively lose a game from that is one of the worst things I've seen at Ewood. Like others have said though, it's not even surprising. We've thrown away so many points through the years in the dying moments of games.

Because on the continuing trend of the soft under belly of players and coaches.

We need to be sourcing a few more like Travis not bloody selling them.

How can we be a point from the relegation zone when we have 0 points?

Sorry, we’re above the drop zone, -2 goal difference, while Derby & both Sheffield’s are -4. Were all on 0 points.

The tactical change to 3 CBs helped kill us.  We sat back and invited them on to us.  Naive decision - we were controlling the game set up as we were, there was no need to change it.  We should know from experience we are spectacularly bad at trying to protect a lead but VI made a daft choice and it contributed to our downfall.

I think you made a fair point but I think changing all 3 front players in Ohashi, Karbgo and Cantwell and who came on apart from Gueye was more of a problem. De Neve for the penalty defending it poorly. Maybe he could have Pickering on instead

even when they equaliser we were still pushing for a winner, But the way we set up for the corner cost us massively and instead of having at least 1 point we got nothing, Frustrating to say the least

I don't think we had the game by the scruff of the neck, Birmingham had loads of the ball and did little with it. We did very little when we did actually have the ball. At least we had taken a chance and nicked a lead. The shot off the bar in the first half wouldn't have counted the game had stopped for an offside.

why didn't we have the game by the scruff of the neck? What did Birmingham do till Laird got them a penalty?

Yes Birmingham did very little with the ball cos we were compact, defending very well and allow them no space.

Karbgo had a great chance second half. Had he scored that we are talking about 2 nil win and the team playing with tactical plan and it clean sheet

2 goals in 3 games, all created after some calamity in the box from a long throw or corner. Nothing wrong with those, but we need to create goals from open play. Cantwell is one of very few in the squad who’s able to do that, Ismael getting a tune out of him is probably his main achievement as a manager for us so far.

Had we scored 5 goals then we would have battered and embarassed them and Ismael would have been praised by everyone.

You are creating scorelines that didnt happen and suggesting that the reaction would have been different had the result been different. I did likewise.

Its not a difficult concept to follow.

@chaddyrovers

You get dodgy refereeing decisions and miss game defining chances all the time. Every team does. The thing is when you can’t score yourselves every little incident is vital. The trick is to score more goals yourselves then these things aren’t even on the fans minds on their way home or for days afterwards.

The other trick is to see past these incidents, see the bigger picture and understand why the team is living on the brink every game.

The referee was abysmal. And I don't say that because we lost.

During the first half the Brum fans were singing, "You're not fit to referee". Then, during the second half the Rovers fans were singing the same and the Brum fans joined in. 19,000 people singing it.

We have many poor refs but this fella takes the biscuit.

We were winning 1 nil and we comfortable in that lead, defensively solid and until the penalty incident, they created nothing, in fact we had a great chance to go 2 nil up with Karbgo's chance
