Thought he just ran out of ideas and hoofed it forward hoping poor Ohashi might make something of it.

Don't remember him just hoofing it at all, more short balls through.

We could not even beat Ipswich in their promotion season from League one but nearly got them today relegated from the Premier League would it not been for the weather ...we played well TGH better than Tavares.

I agree that if the only options are give us the win or a full replay then it has to be a full replay. Giving us the win can’t be justified. I don’t think a middle option exists in this country

Did we have one called off mid game away in league one?

I wasn’t there but feel it was somewhere like Gillingham in absolutely freezing looking conditions

No, never got out of Covent Garden that day... Dangerous stand due to ice, allegedly!

Yes bloody BBwD council dig your bloody river up and take it elsewhere of there'll be no Harrods hampers at Christmas.

Need dredging and widening and need pumps to pump the water down stream or some storage tank

The pitch was in good condition and playable at Chorley.

Chorley have spent money on their pitch within the last three years.

I don't see how you can replay a game that made it to the 80th minute... That's surely too late in the day to abandon and replay it.

It should be abandoned and the result at the time of postponement stands.

At 1-0 ? Not a chance. If it was 1-0 at 90 minutes they’d still order a replay. As somebody said earlier City were winning an FA Cup tie 6-2 when it was abandoned due to a water logged pitch. They lost the replayed game  3-1.

No way will the club turn down a chance to make more money !

If we replay then our players end up playing extra minutes and more risk of injury- very unfair

would they make Ipswich play with 10men?

That's before you take into account the inevitable Southern bias and multi million quid team who are expected to be contesting promotion again.

Plus everybody hates us because we won the Prem .....30 years ago !

Nope, 11 v 11, 0-0, the full 90 minutes and nobody on a card. Knowing our luck the guy that got sent off today will probably score their winner !

I laughed my head off when the pen was awarded at the time, I thought it was extremely soft at best. I haven't seen it back though. It might be in the territory of 'soft, but letter of the law' -  where you're laughing when you get it, but fuming when it goes against you.

I thought was soft everyone jumping around me at it being awarded and we sat there laughing we couldn't clap . Left his leg hanging out  for the best part of eternity 🤣 we've had em against us so will take it lol

What's the rivers like next to their ground?  It's been a while since I was last on Chorley but I don't recall it being in a similar situation to Ewood. Unfortunately, and it doesn't happen that often, when the river is in its present state there is not much you can do.  To do anything about the river it would require the Environment agency to get involved and that would be a long drawn out process.

I remember games being played in a sea of mud in the sixties but we still had abandonments and postponements.  The pitch has improved beyond recognition to those days but the torrential rain we had today was always going to be a challenge.

In fairness, the ref was in a difficult situation as conditions got steadily worse during the second half.

Driving home from Ewood, the roads were none too clever either.

As for the game itself, it was another encouraging performance on the back of the good result and performance at Watford.

Remember the tank thing that used to be in the no mans land corner of Ewood between the Riverside & DE before it was redeveloped ?

I'm sure they could have something similar to pump excess water from the pitch drains.

Probably trying to sway the decision. Fairest thing to do would be to play that last 11+ minutes as was, but that’s unworkable in practice.

either way we’re bound to lose the replay, I just hope it doesn’t cost us come the end of the season.

I can absolutely see us relegated at the end of the season 2 points short of safety. 😭

Rest assured, the FA will come up with a new rule on the back of what happened today to make sure a team in Rovers position (80 minute, 1-0, 11 vs 10) is safeguarded from a bullshit 90 minute, 0-0, 11 vs 11 rematch....

However, with that said, Rovers will absolutely be forced to play an 90 minute, 0-0, 11 vs 11 rematch.

For me, tell Ipswich that they have to come back for 11 minutes (+6), 1-0 down and with 10 men, or agree to the 1-0 score and get to fuck.

I don't blame the ref for the abandonment, nor do I blame the Ipswich management or team for milking it, or the fans having some fun with it.

That shoe on the other foot would fit exactly the same.

I remember 20,000 Rovers fans cheering heavy snowfall vs Arsenal in the 90s when 4-0 down in the "Alan Fettis game".

In Suhail world it doesn't matter if something costs points as long as it doesn't cost money.

A major reason why we will never genuinely progress with him hanging around.

If Venky’s owned Santa’s workshop, Christmas would be called off due to too much snow on the North Pole.

I'm working on the assumption that this season is nailed on to be a cemented mid-table bore, 14th to 16th type affair.

So, hopefully this shambles will be irrelevant.

But should your prediction even come close, or we finish our regular couple of points out the playoffs, it's gonna be quite the bitter pill to swallow.

You cant base a result on 80 minutes of football.

True ---how many goals are scored in the 96th minute or even later?

It’s a tough one for us considering all the other games went on and no issue it’feels why the fuck is it always us ‘ and with the pitch being water logged which potentially could have been prevented by our own club it feels even more bitter

football gods work in their ways so let’s see what happens- it’s out of our hands now

but good news is we were winning 1-0 against a team relegated from prem and expecting to go up and sammie didn’t score

lets see how it unfolds

It's hard to take. 1-0 up, them with 10 men and we couldn't go another 10 minutes.

Feels like 3 points stolen.

i think afc fylde will be feeling something similar they were 4-0 up and match abandoned  for same reason
