Morishita  Cantwell  Hedges

Rovers 2-1

Pretty sure you would you forecast Rovers to win even if we were playing Arsenal or Real Madrid etc!?!?

You are a manic optimist!

'Your team' includes 4 new signings and therein lies a big part of the problem;  my opinions:

Alebiosu - Brittain's replacement:  the one success story.

Miller - Hyam's replacement:  the lad is bang average and Hyam is a huge miss

TGH - Travis replacement:  surplus to requirements at Brum who have just been promoted from League 1 (tells you all you need to know).  Makes Keith Andrews look like Adam Wharton!  Travis a huge miss

Morishita - Dolan's replacement:  God knows why we chased this lad all summer, already regressing and looking like a spent force.

As for the other summer signings:

McLoughin - not in your team so therefore assume you don't rate him and rightly so!

Forshaw:  still unfit, even when fit, just what is the point

Baradji:  signed when crocked, will he be fit before the New Year?

Tavares:  when a player only starts about half the games for a club like Moreirense and manages to finish only 3 of them then surely the red flags are not waving but have been torn to shreds!

Henriksson:  just what is this guy about?

De Neve:  plays like he looks, risen from the dead

Gudjohnsen:  feels like we've signed another donkey - should have put Rovers ahead last night but didn't control the ball and we know what happened next

You keep banging on about how Ismael, Gestede and Owen are 'all aligned' - feckin good job they are otherwise where would we be!?!?  Think it's difficult to recall such a dog's breakfast of a Rovers' transfer window.

I think Stoke will comfortably run out winners by at least 2 goals;  Robins v Ismael akin to Pep v Coyle IMO

The club are relying on retaining as many optimists as they can, so that they can carry on hoodwinking them, that they are doing a good job and carry on raking in the money.

Crazy statements like, we have a better squad than last year and it is going to be an exciting summer, are two examples of the utter nonsense being spouted. It is very muck akin to the ridiculous claims that a certain manger used to make about the new Wayne Rooney and the new chris Smalling etc and look how that ended up.

More people are fortunately now seeing through this and dare I say, even our resident optimist, might be less positive, if we are cut adrift my Christmas.

It is all well and good backing certain things and remaining loyal to the cause, but when something you have real passion and care for, is being destroyed by the people who are supposed to be looking after and caring for it, is time to recognise that, or it will be destroyed forever.

I always say, the utmost respect you can have for something is to expect standards from it.

You have to plan the team to address the issues which are..

1) we give away sloppy goals as we lack a consistent well drilled defensive unit

2) we arent converting enough scoring chances. And only create them by taking lots of risks overcommiting players.

3) we lack leadership

4) we lack a competitive midfield

And then you look at the squad and tbh i cant see any variation from the XI that played against Swansea (unless Wharton and Carter are fit) which makes any difference at all.

We are in the "weeing with the willy we have" territory.

Another one of famous predictions.

I do rate McLoughlin but I don't like 2 left footed at centre back.

Some of those new signings aren't played much yet so maybe show some patience for once Mercer instead of over judgemental again.

Its very clear why Morishita FFS, do some research and I didn't see you on here after Watford when he scored the winner, where were you, You only ever appears after losses but very rare after wins.

sidnei is a bag of shite, one good half against bradford when he looked quite useful now he`s plumbing the depths of uselessnss

de neve the championship is out of his ability zone

henrikson not seen much of him so i`ll give defer my judgement

morishita he`s been found out,was terrible on saturday and last night, does`nt take long for a decent defender to shut him down

gudjohnson,to early to judge him after 1 game

miller, decent defender who`s a full back and should`nt be playing the centre of defence

alaibusiu the one shining star, looked class last night,he`ll be sold in january

To be honest in terms of individual playing ability I am not really seeing a big gap from what we have this year to last year. We could go back a year and find posts from you and others saying we were getting relegated with Travis, Dolan, Brittain, Hyam etc.

The difference is imo 1) a huge volume of players are brand new and learning the country, club and system, 2) none of those players bar McCloughlin and TGH have any championship experience, 3) the manger is not as good as Mowbray, Eustace and JDT 4) we lack a  consistent reliable defence and central midfield partnership

Essentially I am not really sure the quality of the incoming players is the main issue, its turnover and loss of experience. A lot of football is not won on ability, its won on being organised, bonded as a team and aligned to a plan.

Today's been good.

First and foremost Rovers won!  Should do wonders for spirit and confidence.  Beat Ipswich next Saturday and we might just have reason to be much more hopeful for this season.

Secondly, a nice tidy win worthy of an extra bottle of a nice red tonight!

There you have it Chaddy - my post above on Saturday 13 September after the Watford game !!!!  Don't worry lad, amnesia affects us all to various degrees!!!!

I judge players on what I see with my own eyes and I stand by my opinions made about our new signings a couple of hours ago.  Let's revisit them come November and I would suggest reality might have hit home with you by then

Sorry fella but your support of the club is actively detrimental to the long term success of Blackburn Rovers.

Not quite. It's called allowing our loyalty to be utilised by con-men, whose agenda is not about progressing you club we love. In that way, our loyalty is a crucial ingredient in the maintenance of a destructive process...( and I did buy a season ticket!)

For the last 15 years, the club has been held hostage by some very bad people. Supporting the club means trying to free it from those forces. That's support and that's loyalty.
