Thought we took it to Bristol first half and could have had more than one, sat back second half and defended well, hardly gave them a sniff.

Disagree. Bristol were dreadbul first half - so scared of conceding - and allowed us to play in their half so easily - and we took advantage well (and agree, we should have scored more.) The defending to allow Albeiousu to get in to set up a goad was really poor (but full credit to Ryan). We didn't sit  back second half - they forced us back by being far more aggressive (half time team talk?) but agree we dealt with it really well (just like Derby today) and was really pleased with no-nonsense defending.

Left home at 6:45am for the long trip to Ewood. Caught up with some good friends who I definitely don’t see enough, that was probably the highlight tbf. The M6/M5 was kind so I was home by 6pm.

We didn’t do enough to win that game. The strange idea to play Henrikkson in MF and Hedges at CB made us a little shaky. I prefer Henrikson further forward so I’m surprised it wasn’t Forshaw or Montgomery and then Rebeiro or Pickering at the back. It shows how threadbare the squad is though. Have they realised how bad Tavares is as he can’t get anywhere near the pitch. We were being told he was some superstar signing in the summer.

They have had injuries all season and still waiting to get players back!

You first have to build the foundations before you become more expansive (we played crap football when he saved us from the drop but noticeably improved the following season).  The fans firstly want winning football - if you want 'fancy/sexy' football trying following one of Russell Martin's teams (loathed by fans at Southampton and Rangers).

Russell Martin is a terrible manager, I'd almost take Steve Kean back over him.

We were dominated in the air, with ease in both boxes. Why we continued to put high crosses in I really have no idea. Elsewhere there was a lot of huff and Puff in midfield in the second half but it was totally ineffectual stuff. Up front? Do me a favour. There’s nothing there, absolutely nothing. No pace, no power or strength and nowhere near enough ability. Derby deservedly won the game and they had to do very little to win it.
The powers that be should understand that this situation has come about principally because of their strategies over many years. I doubt any of them have considered that possibility.

Mowbray ignored him for the first 18 months he was here, he came in during Covid and did ok, then the 20 goals before Christmas, then in his final season he was singled out for criticism at a time when the whole team absolutely tanked because it was known he was leaving.

All imo of course.

He was really easy to ignore. He looked like a fish riding a bike for two seasons at least.

their style is 'hoof and run'

Apologies Andy for the abrasiveness but still don't agree. 🙂

They played a lot of good short stuff. They were resolute in defence (how many headers did we win?) They played really well into the hole/front man and kept it well (signalling lacking from us). And yes of course they were certainly 'physical' at times.

Certainly not saying they are Barcelona but they are not just 'hoof and run'.

I don't think it's being dramatic to say its petrifying that the bulk of our games between now and the New Year will be a mash up of todays squad. I can't help but think Miller flying off to the other side of the world every international break is going to do his chances of lasting between now and the New Year much good either.

Hedges was fine and cost us nothing in terms of the result.

Pears did nothing wrong and didn’t cost us in terms of the result.

The ref was ok (he let a lot go, but got nothing materially wrong) and didn’t cost us in terms of the result. Toughen up Rovers.

The lads gave their all but weren’t good enough against a resolute Derby side. We simply didn’t have enough to prevent 2 simple goals or enough to then open up a side who sat back and said ‘come on if you are good enough.’ We weren’t.

What a load of nonsense. Do you think they care? They won and they didn't just hoof it long and high just like big Sam wasn't all ugly football. They played at times, got their goals and then sat deep to let us huff and puff to no effect.

Eustace kept us in this league and does what he has to.

Fear not!

This Venky plant thinks we are getting promoted next season! (Probably from League One)

😂😂

I remember this account before I stopped using Twitter earlier this year. If he isn't a club plant he is truly brainless. He spends all day every day defending Venkys against other fans and he popped up constantly on my feed til I eventually muted him. Would love to have been a fly on the wall between him and Rudy.

Post match comment from VI that "have to wait" doesn't indicate that he'll be back anytime soon. Does this medical/physio team have a clue?

Cantwell training one day then off the next with a reaction. Being a knee injury it probably means there's something wrong that hasn't been diagnosed. Could be a very long "wait".

Or being preserved as another fire sale asset?

Yeah, our run of bad form usually kicks in about this time of the season. What's up with Tavares? Unbelievable that he didn't made the bench today if he's not out with injury (which is bad in itself).

Just thought we made a team in 5th look poor on their own patch.

Twine hardly got a kick, they created very little, just a pity the win was at such a cost.

Miller. Great athlete. Wholehearted. Not a footballer.

Think he's better than that. But even if I didn't, I can get behind the first two attributes .We can't afford (or won't pay for) better technicians, so I'll appreciate the athletic, wholehearted ones.

I think pears could of done better on that second goal his little rabbit flap was ineffective and no where near the ball

Did Gardner-Hickman receive his yellow after yet another misplaced Miller pass or is my memory deceiving me? Same as Tronstad on Tuesday...

If he or Henriksson offered for the ball in midfield, the CBs wouldn't have to keep playing hopeful 60 yard balls into the forward line..... terrible setup today asking defenders to do things they aren't good enough for. Still major question marks over the manager, whoever signed Tavares and whoever sanctioned the Hyam sale.
