Football does your head in. Game not live in the States so I was glued to BBC teletext aka latest scores. I was convinced Boro would snatch the lead in injury time first half.
They didn’t

Then my neighbour came in with Christmas cookies and I missed 20 minutes. I was convinced it would be 2-0 Boro mid second half. It wasn’t

Then I refreshed the screen each minute of injury time convinced that Boro would nick a winner in the last minute. They didn’t.

4 points out of 6 against top teams with no goals against us.

Maybe I should relax and trust our youngbloods.

What's Baradji's best position? Doesn't seem to track back enough for CM. Very good at progressing with ball and playing others in. Not seen much of him in final 3rd yet personally. Worth a start on Monday.

Must be worst bench in the league currently? Lucky we've got Litherland etc to see us through, but I don't think ready for champ yet. Once again we're devoid of speed.

Cantwell is our token and we're much much better with him.

Dare I say it Gueye would have been a good choice to bring on..

I think he'll be fine in a midfield 3 - he definitely needs someone doing some of the dirty work next to him.

Litherland very much looked like a CB playing RWB today - but the didn't get in down his side, so you can't really complain. We desperately need a credible backup for Alebiosu.

Sadly I think the Gueye ship has sailed.

Baradji looks a class act, sometimes forgets his man when tracking back though, would like to see him start but definitely would need tronstad next to him. Thought Henriksson had his best game for us (not saying much) but I think second striker might be his position going forward.

Gudjohnsen out for 5 weeks, Tavares 8 weeks.

Morishita, too early but VI said didn't look good.

Cantwell and Litherland cramp (apologies to chaddy who was right on that)

A striker has to be the priority now over anything else I would say. Maybe have to bite the bullet and bring Gueye back into the fray for a time

What word gets around?

These are professional footballers, they quickly work you out. He gave up one shot (and forced his man wide in the process) in 90 minutes.

We'll see how he develops, especially considering we've got Wharton, Carter, Miller, O'Riordan, Litherland and Atcheson (sp) breathing down his neck. For once we're in a good position.

Opposition managers will target him and look at isolating him one on one. You saw it happen today although Whittaker was quite poor against him. You also saw quite a bit of panic when Pratt had possession with him continually clipping balls down the line to red shirts in the 2nd half.

Let's see how it goes, like I said earlier I hope I'm wrong.

Not all bad news then.

I'm going to apply for a job with our medical team.

How the hell has Gudjohnsen gone from "He's touch and go for the Boxing Day match" to "Yeah he's out for 5 weeks"?!

Players can get injured in training. Are we training too hard ?

we should`nt be going at each other in training,at this stage of the season it`s about keeping your match fitness ticking over surely

though im`e not sure sidnei does much in training tbh, barring a light jog and several misplaced passes

Brian Bevan the Aussie Rugby League winger. He came out with every part of his body bandaged, he looked like a mummy, but when he got the ball nobody could catch him.

Not soccer though is it?

It didnt seem to affect Cantwell's movement either bizarrely.

I wish Ohashi was half a yard quicker.

I thought Ohashi was excellent today.

I love him, he works like an absolute Trojan for the shirt and leaves it all out on the pitch. However, no getting away from it, his finishing this season has been absolutely woeful, he has missed a lot of very presentable chances, most especially when time to think.

Powell has been playing as a winger in the past few months, winning PL2 player of the month playing further forwards

“I started the season as a left-back and I’ve been converted into a player playing further forward on the pitch. I’m probably not used to scoring as many goals or getting around those areas as much, but I think I’ve adapted really well and made it my new position. Hopefully I can keep thriving there and hopefully keep scoring.

He would also be the best fit as Hedges deputy at wing back, and why are we picking 2 wingers (Doherty & Dlamini) on the bench when we don't play with any?

You make fair points there.

Hamstring is almost always 6 weeks minimum whatever they might say after the match about it being just a "tweak".
