What a bad game...apparently 29 shots, but only 3 on target, in the whole match (although other stats I saw say 21 shots in total)

I’ll take the positives:

Makeshift team took Hull to penalties in awful weather

Blooded more youngsters who didn’t look too out of place. They will benefit from the experience.

Toth must start next week. Commanded his area

It wasn’t pretty but the players ran their hearts out until the end

If we were safe I would  be playing these youngsters on a more regular basis and build a system around them.

Gardner Hickman played well and Cashin didn’t look rusty.

Cashin was ok. Thought TGH was terrible.

Montgomery wasn't bad before he went off.

Tbh we look okay through the back and middle third with whatever combination of players (we must have played an absolutely vast number of different combinations across defence and midfield - around 8/9 different centre backs and around 6/7 centre mids?). I expected us to to get ripped apart today but we completely held our own.

The issue is final third we have very very little. If we did find some quality up front we'd be fine I think

Josephs scholarship runs out this summer (same year group as Tyjon)

Higgins turns 17 next week, so cant sign a pro deal yet

We should be signing Joseph up pronto. Does Higgins' scholarship end summer 2027?

Is this the only club in England (possibly the world) where a manager could be seemingly under no pressure after 1 win in 11?

mowbray went 1 win in 17 with a superior squad than val and nothing happened, val could take us to the conference north and he would`nt be sacked, venkys don`t do sacking, they just drive managers away,if he does`nt get his strikers come febuary,i think he`ll walk tbh

val has got nothing to work with, bar a few journeymen and a lot of young lads,i don`t think anybody in world football could manage rovers and make a success of it

Disagree. Agree materials aren't great (but isn't some of that down to his complicity anyway?) but several managers could get more of a tune.

Hope you enjoy both

At absolutely no point did I even consider we'd win that shoot out!

This run is not Ismaels fault, there is no manager that could put together more wins with these players and the hollowed out shell of a club the Rao family have created. To think otherwise is playing into Pashas hand who will be hard at work thinking about who his next straw man is. Don't fall for it.

🙂 It's clear analysis -spot on (no irony) 😉

I try my best, unlike the wankers that own us, I still despise them with all the passion I once had as a Rovers fan. I still am, or I wouldn’t be here. I’m not against folk going, but I do question the logic of supporting the regime, rather than our club. We need to fuck them off! Empty stadium, new owners who might just care. God forbid there’s no one left to make that decision as to who it might be. If they did FO, and took mutt and useless with them, there’s a massive void.

Not a chance, he knows the script and is fully "aligned"

All this stuff about wanting players in early and two strikers is just complete BS imo.

He knows there's absolutely no chance of it actually happening but it's just a bit of fluff to calm the supporters down.

Course it was, no intent from either player but Ohashi's foot skidded over the top of the ball and he kicked the Hull player on the leg.

Good whole hearted challenge from both players. Would probably have been a red in the Prem with VAR though.

To be clear, you're saying it should have been a Hull free kick because of that? Because that means he was first to the ball.

Give over, the squad isn't great but there are plenty of managers out there who could have got more points out of the games we've had in that run, which includes Wenesday, Oxford, Portsmouth and Charlton.

One win against almost the entire bottom half ffs.

not sure about that,he`s been looking frustrated on the touchline in the last couple of weeks,he certainly is`nt acting like mowbray.i.e sat down looking at his bank balance

Game of 3 halves from Rovers TV for me

1- no audio no video

2 -audio no video

3- no audio but had video

Probably made the game much more bearable.

Take aways

- Toth clinched his place thanks to ET

- Baradji classiest player on the pitch

- Henriksen has an engine on him and can play a bit when in a familiar position

- if only Tyjon had been running onto the pass Baradji slipped through to Doherty

No Cup run so back to the Academy the lot of you...

Wow someone's in a good mood today.

Sure am. Nothing ill-mannered about me today, minus this horrible cough I've got. Just saying, you can't bleat about people giving you stick for it, then bring him up yourself unprovoked.

Chuckle brothers on Roverst TV talking about penalties as a 'lottery' and just about 'luck'

Perhaps Southgate and England could have saved a lot of time and money on not employing experts to work out why England kept losing on penalties. After shedloads of analysis they worked out why they had been going wrong and simple techniques to improve (which they did and Kane attributes to much of his success).

Did we bother prior to the game? Or maybe we weren't that bothered so that we could concentrate on the league?

The 400 who went should be given a free ticket to the next home game -or then again maybe not. 😉

Unfortunately Powell, Dlamini and Doherty are all miles off it physically.

Even more unfortunately De Neve, Henriksson and Gardner-Hickman are miles off it ability wise.

The rest are mostly bog standard at best. The lack of quality in our squad is criminal.
