Cherry Blue Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Latest betting still puts Rowett in front @ 1/2 with Graham Alexander next @ 5/2. The rest are crazy. venkys (note small v) don't give a shit anyway so the so called panel are probably still on Google. Quote
Bbrovers2288 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Are we in the territory of making an appointment who is best placed to get us out of league 1 at this point, one who might stick around a while 3 Quote

It'll be another rebuild in the summer regardless of the division Rovers are in. If Rovers went down, the only way back would be to get a proper manager who is able to influence recruitment significantly, with Gestede and Suhail (and ideally Venkys) gone from the club. 3 Quote
Ossydave Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Rowett has drifted if you want to rely on odds for the source. Nixon will have a story that will influence the odds…… I can’t help but think we need someone who knows where the goal is in charge as well, not sure how a defensive minded manager improves this team much. Step forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. I know it won’t happen like, United mates still maintain he had them playing their best attacking football for years though. This disjointed team needs someone who’s hands on in training and quick. 1 Quote

MarkBRFC Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It would take an absolute miracle worker to get this lot into a fluid attacking team. Think best we can do is get someone in to make us more organised, hard to beat and see if we can nick games. 1 Quote
Paul Mellelieu Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago We need someone to play alongside Tronstad who can defend and we need two players in the final third who can make things happen. 2 Quote

RevidgeBlue Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Manager wise starting to think maybe the only sort of manager who can thrive under these idiots might be an up and coming Ken Furphy type who can successfully wheel and deal domestically on a shoestring. Would Challinor fit that description? 1 Quote

I think whatever the fuck has gone on in training this season has been a shit show. Players have got progressively worse, it's quite ironic that Yuki scored a great goal against Norwich last season, yet this season looked like he'd barely played football before. I genuinely think I could take charge and right a lot of the wrongs. Looking at VI on the sidelines gives an insight to how training was tbh, flat, boring, nonsensical. Quote

Garrett or Foreshaw would suffice for me.. Shows how awful Tavares and Henrikkson have been. Do we not have any industrious young centre mids in the academy? Quote

JHRover Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We're probably now at the 'confused' stage after today's result having hoped a draw or win today would have allowed the can to be kicked down the road for another week. Back into the bottom 3 with a damaging defeat to a side down there with us might now need to focus minds. The Sky buffoons commentating, aside from being heavily biased in Norwich's favour throughout, mentioned that time was becoming more pressing and that Rovers needed to reduce their 'long list' to a 'short list'. It seems they don't understand the urgency and gravity of our situation and are still mucking around with lists and projects. Probably waiting for Leicester or WBA to hit the panic button and get Rowett in, and he WILL choose either of them over us if he gets the choice. 4 Quote
danger19_80 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I don't see Rowett taking it. He's too sensible, doesn't seem desperate and, after three managers in a row walked, will be more than wise to the situation we find ourselves in. Most managers now will be, especially British ones. Their best bet is a desperado ala Coleman or (another) random Foreign gamble. 3 Quote

With nothing coming from the club we rely on Nicko and dare I say betting odds. Nothing certain especially when we have inexperience clown running the club. 1 Quote
bazza Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Just supposing we get Rowett in this week. How does he find out who's good and who's bad? Does he watch videos for 10 hours a day? If he doesn't know the club or the players it will take 3 or 4 games for him to find out by which time we'll be just over Wednesday. 1 Quote

The way the commentators were talking was as though they had been told that the club was working its' way through a long list of options and they even said now is the time to shorten that list down and make a decision. Suspect they are probably in the dark as much as anyone but yeah the best we have is Nixon saying Rowett is 'top choice' and 'could' be 'offered' the job this weekend. Given he was sat in London on Sky duty I doubt he was in any sort of talks today so maybe tomorrow. 1 Quote
aletheia Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Long list my arse. Let's give DJ 2 games, put it about we have a hughe short/longlist and then we can bring Chris in. Quote

He's sat on the dole queue at the minute, there won't be many other jobs out there for him right now where he can make such easy, quick money. Quote

Exactly if offered Rowett will take it he isn't going to wait around in the hope Leicester or West Brom will come in for him I think out of the options he would be a sensible choice but he has not long since been sacked by Oxford I don't see a queue of clubs making him their preferred candidate in the summer when teams start afresh. To get back in it will be a team like us struggling at the bottom looking for a rescue. If west brom sacked their new guy he may be considered there but I don't see Leicester having him as their preferred candidate 1 Quote
bigbrandjohn Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Whoever it is, the negotiations will be long and hard. Big bonus for Rovers staying in the championship. Guaranteed investment in players either in the Championship or Division 3 Longer than a short term contract. All terms that are alien to the Bank of Venkys. No point in counting our chickens… 1 Quote
